American Motor Drome Company
For over a hundred years men and women have been risking life and limb on Wall of Death Motorcycle Thrill shows. The American Motor Drome Company is one of only a couple motorcycle daredevil shows still traveling the country. Jay "Lightnin" Bentley had been riding the wall for 25 years when he decided to build his own in his backyard from memory without blueprints just a giant stack of Douglas fir. In this film Jerry Long aka Charlie Ransom takes to the wall. The music is from our good friends Hugo Race and the True Spirit, the song is called Heartbrake 69 and it captures perfectly the frozen in time feeling one gets watching this spectacle atop the 14 foot wall with a 1920's Indian Motorcycle thundering across the boards just inches away!

Pinstripe Motorcycle and Bicycle rims using this easy old school technique!
Переглядів 230 тис.11 років тому
I picked up a set of vintage pinstripe color wheels at the flea market and wanted to show you how easy it is to lay down a set of stripes on your rims using One-Shot lettering enamel. Pinstripes are the finishing touch on any custom ride and nothing looks better than a painted set of rims with contrasting stripes. This old hotrod builder technique can be done by anyone with a steady hand and li...

Motordrome - Board Track Motorcycle Racing in the US
Переглядів 20 тис.12 років тому
A brief history of board track Motordrome cycle racing in the United States. The awesome sound track is Hugo Race & True Spirit preforming "Girl called Sunset" recorded Live in Zaklad Karny (maximum security prison), Wolow, Poland, October 20, 2009. The second track, also from Hugo Race was recorded with Dirt Music (Chris Eckman & Chris Brokaw) is called "Niger Sundown".
Where to get car tire striping? Thanks
No issues with assembly for me ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
Although this is an old video. You just taught an old dog a new trick. Thanks for sharing this video, it was very helpful.
Why wait?
My father had that tool and pinstriped our bike wheels back in the fifties and sixties
Very Cool, thank you! I just found one of these pinstriping tools in the free pile at a garage sale. I picked it up because it looked cool and I love vintage tools, but I had no idea what it was for.
Where I can buy the tool you use to make the line
Wear can I buy the tool and how much
I've got a paint applicator just like that, never been used, so this is great for me, wondering to use or not?
get it used, that's what it's for, then clean it and put it away until the next time. i just bought one.
Thanks, it's a really pretty sweet, an been around awhile! You sure made it look even better! I got it from my grandfather. Don't know if he use this on his car, but it was very cool 57' chevy, that I remember him adding toilet payer oil filter! I have that filter too! He was a train engineer, an as kids we loved to wave at grandpa as his train past through town from Portland! Thanks for the memories!
How to make that pinstripe pen
I would recommend getting your rim trued or straitened before trying this method ;)
Very cool pics
I used them 55 years ago in Jack Taylor Cycle in Stockton on Tees, last time i saw some was at a autojumble in Paris and he was only wanting £180.00 for one kit. he was playing with it and didn't really know what he had or what it could do, i showed him on a section of bike tube how it worked, but he wouldn't give me any discount, so i am afraid he and his stock are growing old together.
Got one at flea market 2 days ago. $4. I thought it strange old tool to sell on ebay. Thought it was a paint stripper at first, but that has two p's. Going to havefun using it. But on the rubber not the rims. Coolvid...!!!
this tool have a name !?!?
Thanks.. I just got one of those pinstripers and did not know that lever is a guide.I thought it was paint flow control. Nice bike for sure.

Where in Culver City was that track's address / location? Thanks for your time in advance.
Culver City 1-1/4 mile track, bounded by Culver Boulevard and Overland Avenue, debuted a few weeks before Christmas in 1924 with more than 70,000 visitors in attendance.

Great movie.
Perfect !!
My mentor (John Hannukaine) told me once "Here is the roller go have fun with it and then throw it away, don't be a roller guy" Brush or die. But a tool is a tool.
where do you buy your vintage rims??
Thanks, never saw that before FYI: 1/16 +1/16+1/16 =3/16 not 3/8 as you said in the video..just saying..
i thought he said about an eighth of an inch as he had to go over it again.
very cool
Hi, what is the name of this gadget? where can I to buy? THX
sweet little tool !
Couldn't you spin the wheel and apply real pinstripe tape
allthings possible Tape is not "real" pintstripe , but i works should work with a fine brush , especially if the rim is perfectly true and you spin it faster , i did this with a paint pen and worked great , you make the wheel spin fast then aply the pen
I bought one of those gadgets about15 years ago and only used it a few times. It's tedious to work with to say the least. You need to get the paint thinned just right for it work properly. I found it much easier for me to do wheel stripes with a 00 Mack or Kafka brush.
+Painter D if you no longer need, tell me your price
Is there any film footage from Priester's Park (St. Louis Motordrome), built in 1914 as a quarter-mile circle with 62 degree banking?? (Photos exist...)
Hi, I have a question ,whats difference between house of Kolor and one shot, because I see that almost everyone uses one shot a lot and not house of Kolor. Thank you.
hello, as this gizmo called to make the lines ?? I have one that I found in a farmhouse, former hacienda, and this Spotted in amarrillo colored egg, can be lines to make caaballos cars (carriages). but until I saw the video and not sap that was served and that .. gracias de antemano.
im all for old ways of doing it and not using more modern techniques as is shows skill and craftmanship and hand finished is best.
haha that noise in your intro is from a 1936 Fairbanks Morse Model 32D
Nolan! your good...very good, busted I am.
very good...thanks for the tips
Thank god for the lip to guide U
If your rim doesn't have the groove/lip you can use the wire guide against the outer edge of the rim. For a wide motorcycle rim that you wish to stripe near the center you may need to bend a custom guide. I find it useful to slide a piece of thin nylon tube over the wire so it slides along the edge of the rim smoother.
cyclecult great Job....
now thats a party,,
Awesome movie.. Thank you soo much.
Excellent tool for the job!!!
so classy. very nice bike, man
I've got that 1-shot enamel - great stuff. Nice high pigment...
can i use model car paint for pinstriping
great vid thanks,
Add Salt Lake City to the list of board tracks. 1910 built at Wandamere Park by Jack Prince.
Thanks for the info zvr92, I wasn't aware of the SLC track. :)
***** Neither was I until a few years ago. They turned the whole park into a golf course (Nibley) in 1921. It's on 2700 South 700 East.
Pinstriping = brush and paint no fake ass tools. Cheating
Lowlifebiker666 if he is happy with the results then i would say perfect... and isn't a paint brush a tool?
... stunning video forwarded by my brother Julian...
The Beugler striping tool is designed to do this.. they are awesome
A tip : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.

@Austin Brantley yup, I've been using flixzone for since december myself =)
cool boardtrack footage,.....I am looking for Motordrome footage if anyone has any? Motordromes (1908-1912) were 1/4 to 1/3 mile tracks and Boardtracks(1912-1920's) came later and were 1 to 2 mile tracks and is where Harley-Davidson's raced. Indian's dominated the early motordromes before Harley-Davidson officially entered the racing game
Great piece of history. Congratulations by the video. Regards form Portugal
