Damn I see a lot of cool sound design or mixing tips lately. It be inspiring me -and I'm stealing that too-
it's a dream to have such a great tool , actually i love david Gravell kick drums and for years i'm trying to understand what 's his process chain or how he creates those Amazing kicks , with this tools it becomes easier to extract actual kick and analyze it , listen to this remix , for me it's definition of PERFECT kick drum : Armin Van Buuren - Together (In A State Of Trance) (David Gravell Remix)
Wenn did yu join the Illuminatiee broi!?
Joined recently, still no opinion on the org. ;D

Great explanation
I thought this was about to be about light and i was very dissapounted
Sorry about that, I thought the title was clear enough?
Hey, if pro q 3 is my most used plugin, this one will be used even more! Are you from the Balkans maybe? you kinda sound like you are from my part of the world..
Yes, I am from the Balkans ;) and you DEFINITELLY will love Pro-Q 4
@MIXXINAcademy :) hocu sigurno, pozdrav
They just updated it to 4.01
Pozdrav! :)
I'm on it! Thanks <3
Didn't hear a single reason why this is horrible. when I use this I generally go for 1 or 2 on the processing knob. If you process it heavily obviously when it colapses to mono the effect becomes weaker. Your channel is cool, do away with the click bait. No need for it.
It was click-bait. Respect the Click-bait! ;D. I hope you liked the video anyways?
@@MIXXINAcademy Your videos are great, keep it up!
Thank you! I will strive to do better, always.
Yea everyone needs to give your channel more love you really go in depth and explian well thank you
Glad you feel that way! I do my best.
Damn cool software..
I don't get it. Everybody with a basic understanding of musical notation knows what a dotted 8th is and why it is called like this. So what's the point?
You just answered it yourself. This is an excerpt from our online course. That specific part is for those that DO NOT have that basic understanding of musical notation. Many people do not, so...
@@MIXXINAcademy Oh ok, I see. That was not obvious from the Short itself.
The Melda Threshold window is fantastic!
It is really powerful and complex BUT it is much faster to create a different effect curve in others.
I don't understand the intro?! Some poor dudes studio equipment got robbed so I decided to check out this software? Did I miss something?! Great video though - very kool piece of software
Lol, my thought exactly
Yes I find that extremely odd, maybe a translation issue as I suspect his primary language is not English.
No translation problems, just a curveball :). I saw some content creator whose music studio got robbed in the stupidest way possible. Would not wish that on anybody. But I just decided to mention it.
me tooooooo....completely confused xD
👍 nice
Thanks for the visit!
wavelab, nice 🙂 I believe I saw the promo video from Tokyo Dawn. it's clearly tool for professionals (hence the price range) ... what does the studio robbery video has to do with this vinyl checker? that was quiet a wiered jump in subject 🙂
The studio robbery has absolutely nothing to do with the Simulathe plugin :)
Nice beat
Thanks. It is this song: ua-cam.com/video/R4FEuurxQTM/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Thank you for the video. Have you tried to build the same kick in all three and how it sounds?
It would probably prove to be really difficult to place the points at exact time and pitch values. It was more more of an interest to me in checking which had the best workflow and features.
Why use such a clickbait title? I like this channel, i don't like clickbait titles...
Sorry about that, I even addressed it in the description... I notice a lot more people actually watch those videos somehow even though the ACTUALL subject in the video is NOT negative. I'll try a hate filled video next, maybe even call out a fellow creator to cause some drama, "televisa apresenta" style :D
Yes you might get a bigger uptake but it has also been proven that it can also put people off from watching more of your uploads in the future.@@MIXXINAcademy
@@MIXXINAcademy Yeah, no problem with clickbait per say, if you´re trying to attract views. But the problem here is that the title is NOT accurate to what the video is about. So the problem here isnt clickbait, its a bit worse: its actually 100% misleading by using deception to attract views. How low can you go
@@lastadolkgGM Your opinion is that making a fake "title" that attracts views is "low" (morally I guess)?
@MIXXINAcademy yes i guess, i mean you do what you gonna do, but the title is "dont use these <things, plugins, etc>!!" and then the video is "heres a comparison between these things", its deceiving
thanks for the info, how do you decide what db slope to set on your analyzers?I see you have it set to 4.5db,have seen some people set it to 3db,what is the industry standard?why have this feature on analyzers, why not have them set to 0db for example as standard so that you see the true spectrum not an adjusted view with the slope set to whatever db slope you prefer?would it not be beneficial to have this rather than set it to personal preference, which would show vastly different frequency curves depending on how the slope is set.Coming from a person who is relatively new to music production I noticed that when following tutorials and using analyzers I always wonder the what slope is set to on the instructors analyzer and if we are seeing the same frequency response on our analyzers, because sometimes depending on tutorial and who is giving it,their analyzers look different even tho I have followed each step meticulously.
The analyzer slope set to 4.5db/oct slope is what gets the modern music to show "mostly" a horizontal line. Of course genre to genre, song to song it WILL stray from that. Now about the importance: It is MUCH easier to spot something being off from a horizontal line. If you were to compare two different tiled lines and try to decern how much tilt is enough tilt... or maybe what is off from a specific tiled line, which part of that spectrum reading is "off"... that would be much more difficult. I am saying this because I used analyzers in the past when only few existed and the slope was 0 dB/oct :( Music is for listening, always trust your ears and use visual aids to keep yourself in check.
@@MIXXINAcademy Thanks, makes sense, will set mine to 4.5 db.
If you go to kick 3 in linear it would work the same as the other one
Thank you for mentioning it, I have already been told in the comments and mentioned that in the following video about kick synths.
so which ones are your 2 fav and why?
Definitely Melda and Soothe that I use daily. But Spec Craft is close by.
What about DSEQ? I think it's a very good resonance deductor/suppressor.
I have used it before actually, but it has nothing that the others do not. The point of the video was finding out features that none of them has in full. Listing unique features that would be nice to appear in ONE plugin together.
And not to forget - the Him DSP Kick Ninja. And SINEE Chop Suey. Having them and Audija KickDrum and the D16 Punchbox i see no reason to add Kick 3 to the pile … ;)
Did you check Nugen Stereoizer?
I have not. Will check it out and if it seems like it's worth it, a video it will become!
How many people will listen to MONO nowadays😅? Moreover this plugin purpose is used to make a tracks a bit wider. Not to extremely change the tracks. In addition do you know there is a auto gain function to auto gain match. I think you don’t how to use this plugin even its hardware so please study the plugin carefully study the plugin before commenting it😛
I mean every time you see someone use a bluetooth speaker its basically mono
@@maximilianschaffler9981no?
I do know about the gain match, It has a bug when I move the plugin from one track to another in Ableton so I restrained from using it. (always goes to the most quiet setting it has when moved from track to track.) I think I know how to use it well enough. The manual is a 10 minute read, nothing about the actual process explained (guess it's proprietary and secret ;). All in all it IS a really simple plugin, not "rocket science".
no one probably listens to mono on purpose 🙂 checking mono is like the car speaker sound check. phones don't have stereo speakers nor do many "kitchen radios". they all sound like shit but a bad mono mix may quickly cancel out frequencies or remove whole instruments and make a song sound even shittier. a bedroom producer certainly doesn't need to care but some people release songs with a very large and diverse audience using very different devices of which some will be mono and all these listeners judge if a song sound good when they listen to it on their crappy devices. 😉
Hello, regarding the transient/tonal section, this function is the same as Eventide's Split-EQ. You can eq separately the transients and the Tonal. But having all together with dynamic and the other controls makes this Histrip really unique.
Agreed.
I wouldn’t recommend this on any mix or drum bus. I typically use my hardware 500 version on the synth bus or acoustic guitar bus and it really shines there.
Agreed. Did not really shine on drums due to their nature and where the stereo information lies with the drums.
How much of a difference would it make to your mono mixdown, if you push the mono maker setting up off of 10hz? Maybe 100/150hz?
Honestly I don't think it is doing anything with the low frequencies part of the spectrum. Tried it on a bass track and nothing happened that I could notice. Am I wrong there?
Apparently "academy" is not the right name for this channel)
Academy is @ mixxinacademy.com. I mention it at the end of every video. :)
ProR2 would be the if you have to have only one. Can eq the the delay to small details and the ducking/distance is nice. It's one of the best free ones though
Sooth is also the only one that support multichannel insert, but I still go for Speccraft because it's just better I think
What do you mean by multichannel insert? Am I missing something? Please point me in the right direction :)
Seems like an ok plugin. I don't like it on the Master or drums, individual melodic elements I feel it works best and can sound quite nice.
Agreed.
Plugin Doctor! Nice, didn't know about that vst. Thanks
If you know what you are looking at in Plugin Doctor you can find out a lot of interesting things about the plugins you want to buy! ;)
Man at least do the bare minimum be aware of all the features of a plugin before criticizing it. Audija kick drum has the ability to toggle linear and logarithmic scale as well ass individual envelopes for saturation, clipping and individual harmonics
I disagree!
Come across ur channel today , great content & reviews ... 💯
Thanx for saying that! :)
it took 30years for ya'll to catch up to the mpc2000xl
MPC has a different use case to DAW... Wasn't it used by beat makers? It would surely later go on to be mixed in a DAW or on a mixxin' desk?
@@MIXXINAcademy The MPC is the blue-print for all drum style vst "what ever" I'm not sure you understand how powerful the mpc is!
@@larrytan73 That is definitely the case here, I have not used it yet. I guess that for creating ideas and the tactility it offers it is still king...
It is worth mentioning the “Delta” option in Soothe 2 and the possibility to activate the sidechain in the plugins.
All of them have the delta option, and the sidechain. I wanted to go over features that only a few have and would be nice to see in all plugins. Ultimately in one dream plugin.
Cool Beans and Happy Black Friday/Cyber (Month) lol -- Thanks for the "Nerdy" review You have a new sub -- Peace!!
And to complete I'd like to mention FX23 PsyLab Pro. Its workflow isn't obvious but it's very capable.
This next level stuff
Thank you or making such a comprehensive video! Our goal was to make the best channel strip, that was low latency, low CPU, and everything on 1 page. I think we've gotten it pretty close, but we plan to continue development and progressively make it better. I also wanted to let you know some info about two notes that you pointed out. Resizing, and the limiter. By the end of this year we will have resizing, as well as a significantly better limiter algorithm, which will be a true brick wall peak limiter more suitable for mastering, and also feature an auto gain on/off switch. both are being worked on as we speak. And we'll continue to enhance and develop the product throughout the next year!

Very interesting - want to try this out in a more controlled listening environment and try on more material. Interesting to learn about this plugin maker as well - had never heard of them before.
I'm always psyched to see somebody talking about MSD. I've had for a while but feel like I'm still just scratching the surface. So always looking for more insight into using it.
Same here, still feel like I'm just scratching the surface of what can be done using it.
*Only death idiot will use dynamic supression plugin on the whole mix. They all mess transients, smear them in time what makes mix sound toothless.*
Melda ❤
Nice one brate
Pulsar Modular put so much thought into their plugins and really listen to mixing and mastering engineers feedback.
What a great video. Would love to see more Melda focus as well.
More to come!
