Are you guys kidding me with the Broncos they are a train wreck. They boxed themselves into a corner and were forced to draft Nix who threw 10% of his passes past the LOS at best and have issues on both sides of the ball. Both their lines are poor and their defense would have to make a quantum leap just to be average. Unless Nix ends up being a hell of a lot better than the scouts think he is, passing on Byron Young and Brock Bowers at 12 is the kind of move that makes bad teams bad for an extended time, I don't see light at the end of the tunnel for them. Another thing you guys need to avoid is using PFF rankings for things like a teams offensive line, both the Broncos and the Raiders had top ten o-lines according to PFF but the problem is that doesn't take into account things like chipping with the RBs, keeping the TEs in to block and how much they max-protect which both teams did a whole lot of. I see the same order in the division as last year but the Raiders and Chargers are both good young teams on the upswing and Denver god only knows they are kind of devoid of talent and their roster is pretty far behind the rest of the division.

Another great comment here. Their financial decisions with Russell Wilson have been questionable at best. Nix is a guy who has potential to transcend what he was asked to do at Oregon (which Justin Herbert had a lot of the same problems with short throws in college). The Broncos have a situation where they absolutely needed to go after a quarterback when they did (although I agree, Bowers is a talent that is too good to pass up on). Noted on the PFF rankings, thanks for bringing that up. Contextual football is something we're working towards and the insights you brought here are helpful. Let's see if your predictions turn out to be true!

@@AmonaMission No one actually knows but he busted at a better, more talented program already and Herbert was crapped on because he stayed in school one year longer than should of. If Herbert had come out as a junior he would have gone 1st overall just like if AOC came out a year earlier he probably would have been a 1st round pick as well. I would never compare Nix to Herbert though he doesn't throw the ball nearly as well but maybe his shortcomings will be moot because of the offense and coaching. Nix is the kind of player that in a normal draft without all those other QBs he probably goes in the top 8 i call it Christian Ponder syndrome

Henry Ruggs didn't bust at all he destroyed his life in a tragic (for everyone) way and was well on his way to becoming a dynamic player. As usual everyone keeps over hyping the Chiefs yes they are a very good team but are far from unbeatable. They have serious questions on their offensive line and at WR and outside of Chris Jones at rushing the passer as well, I would say outside of Mahomes, there is not another player they couldn't afford to lose and Jones has had great injury luck so far. They will have a harder time in their division this year with two very good defensive teams in LV and LA. The way to beat the Chiefs is at the line of scrimmage like the Giants vs the Patriots back in the day. The Raiders have a very good roster and people keep letting the QB situation get in the way of a solid squad and should have a dominant defense. The Chargers should also be better they were their own worst enemy and that won't happen anymore. I still see 11-12 wins for KC but i'd expect them to struggle at times and even though there are a number of question marks with the Raiders, if they manage to get decent QB play they could be a problem for a lot of teams. I watched AOC play a lot of games in college and people who keep denigrating him haven't watched him play much college he has talent and a very sneaky, good number of weapons on offense and if the chips fall right for them they could very well put pressure on KC this year.

Hey James, thanks for your comments and great insight here! Henry Ruggs did have some great traits to be a dynamic player, but there are other technical factors that needed to be developed in his game. The whole point in bringing him up in comparison to Xavier Worthy is that we both believe Xavier Worthy has more technical prowess than Ruggs did when the Raiders took him #12 overall. With the Chiefs, they have way more options on the D-line besides Chris Jones (Karlaftis, Derrick Nnadi, Wharton, Danna, and Omenihu). Obviously, Jones is a game-wrecker (we saw this in the Super Bowl as most recent evidence) and as always injuries will always determine ceiling. However, the Chiefs can mitigate a loss like Jones unlike other teams to still make a deep playoff run. Raiders can make it interesting no question. It will come down to O'Connell and White for sure. As a fan of O'Connell, he is very underrated and smart as a quarterback. If they can both grow and be maximized in the scheme, they have a great ceiling.

@@AmonaMissionWithout Jones's disruption none of the d-lineman of the Chiefs would be someone you'd have to game plan for mostly a bunch of the same kind of players, pocket pushers more than actual complete pass rushers. Come on guys Ruggs was picked high in a very good draft for a reason, he's much bigger and stronger than Worthy and was almost as fast. Worthy was projected as a mid-2nd rd pick for a reason, he's small, skinny and has a small catch radius. If it weren't for Andy i'd of looked at him as more of a gadget type player. I'll admit i'm even guilty of overrating the Chiefs players sometimes if it was anyone besides the Chiefs Worthy wouldn't have scared me at all. You would have to be a Raider fan to have seen the impact Ruggs was starting to have on teams game plans.I wonder if he gets another chance it's the kind of thing the Chiefs like to do.
