🎼 Sightread Liszt with Me!
🎶 This is Liszt's 1st Consolation 😍
➡️ The point of this exercise is to KEEP GOING, (no matter what!), dropping notes, or even one hand, if you need to.
➡️ If this piece is on the difficult side for you, play the R.H. melody to start, OR choose to clap and count 1 or both hands to become more familiar with the syncopated rhythms.
➡️ Hint: ALWAYS COUNT but stay flexible! Sightreading is always easier when you can take a little time here and there. 😉
➡️ I challenge you to add as much character, expression, and attention to detail as possible! Really voice that melody, and pay special attention to slurred staccato markings!
🤓 The approximate level of this #SightreadWithMe is a Level 8 (RCM).

🌷 En Avril, à Paris speaks of love and springtime in Paris. Charles Trenet was a prolific French songwriter of the 30s, 40s and 50s. He composed and recorded hundreds of songs that were heavily influenced by his love of jazz and the poetry of Max Jacob. Trenet's style was personal and poetic, imbued with French charm and American swing. 🎹 The piano arrangement of the song, as heard here, was di...

Chopin
Good guess, but not it!
This was co-composed by Walter Eiger and Charles Trenet, and is also known as "I Live For You." Carl Sigman wrote the lyrics.
I liked the second more 😅
I like you’re face in The end😂

A useful tip for teaching 4 against 3 polyrhythm. Thanks for your advice.
My pleasure! Glad I could help 🤗
Amazing! May I ask where did you find this sheet music? I bought the musepress version but it has some differences. I much prefer yours
@@AaronAlterman I hate to say this, but I cannot remember where I got the score! I know I got it online, but I'm sure that doesn't help much! If I come across the link or the site, I will send it your way!
@ thank you!!
@@AaronAlterman This one is pretty accurate, except he failed to notate the treble in the first 6 measures and measures 128 - 134 as 8va: ua-cam.com/video/IC2cnGd5Sy8/v-deo.html
I wish my piano teacher could’ve explained it this clearly and simply! Thank you!
Happy to help! These rhythms can be tricky.... love anything that makes them easier 😊
Wish my brain didn't just melt trying to understand this
Yeah, it can be tricky, depending on your theory understanding. Let me know if you have any specific questions! If you master the pattern, then it becomes a bit easier...

One of Cziffra's favorites.
Nice job!
Thank you! 😊
Очень романтично, среди всех иных интерпретаций
I’m trying this exercise. Question-do we use the traditional fingerings for left hand which involves using 3 on some keys and 4 on others. I actually find the black keys easier-for some reason. It’s a great exercise and thanks for posting.
Beethoven Sonata in Fmajor
Sounds good to me
Is it in D major or D minor? Or is D not the key?
Both D Major and D Minor! 😉

Nice! Very very clean playing!
Thanks a lot! ☺️
Best exercise ever.... 😊

No, a GS32 I believe!

Great tip! No one ever taught me this trick. Thanks :)
Happy to help! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Bar 38 last note should be D natural not D# 1:02
Yeahhh... I found that mistake after this recital 🤪
@@LanaHenchell . . .but the D# doesn't sound bad :)
🙈
😅
My risk hurts alot by playing this master piece. Any ideas why it hurts so much?
Hi, I can only speculate because I haven't seen you play it. But most pain comes from tension and overuse! It's super important to remain free in your wrist.

Great, Lana! Each of your videos is a challenge beyond all limits!!! I hope you had a wonderful March 8th! 💋🎹💋
Thank you! You too! 😊
@@LanaHenchell Thank you so much, Lana! I spent a wonderful March 8th, because I spent it dreaming of your smile! (Like every day, after all...) 😍💘😍
You must've heard the story how Leopold Mozart would rouse a sleepy Wolfgang from bed by playing a C scale and ending it on a B. Then Wolfgang would run out of bed to hit the C note and feel satisfied. Lovely! I also love the Amazing Chop Waltz. Euphonia Allen at her best!
I do know that story ☺️ ... and yes, that Allen's rendition is pretty cool!
Which one is this, pls?
