Long and short stitching full process
Переглядів 3,1 тис.5 років тому
Here's a complete process of me working a petal in long and short stitch. Long and short stitching can be tough to grasp just by still pictures so I decided to prepare a video so that you have a better vision and understanding :) Note that I tried to minimize the cuts as much as possible to make it more detailed. However, I still had to speed it up. Otherwise, it would take too long and you wou...
it's like scrapbooking with fabric! I love it
beautiful❤

Really Beautiful Design... Made With Passion.. Keep It Up...🤗
Linda demais! Parabéns!
you should filmed it obce again It's only your hand on screen....
Such a beautiful journal. l love it
Bellissima idea, mi piace molto! Complimenti!
This is so great! Do you always start with an outline stitch or is that just for a neater edge? How do you decide?
Wow!
Me encantó la idea y tus bordados son bellísimos 🥰💗💗
hi... What fabric did you use and what interlining did you use underneath?
Hey why is the tutorial in reverse, it's beautiful... But can't follow it properly
Hi. I hope you are all right. Send you good vibes 💕
I just found your vlog as I would like to make a journal. I liked your vlog very much and would like to see a 'flip through' Your work is beautiful Thank you for sharing.
Great idea
Stunning! Found you on Pinterest n now subbed here ❤️
Would you mind sharing what that stitch is that sprays out from the center of the flower? I thought maybe it was the pistil stitch but the knot end appears longer more like a bullion knot. It's the perfect touch to a project I am working on for my daughter and I am not loving what I had originally came up with.
Nevermind! I found it on your site! The Bullion pistil stitch! Thanks so much for your lessons and inspiration!
Ficou maravilhoso 🤩
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! And for all your freebies. I am thankful!
Thank you, Anna! 😊💕
The music and your stitching are hypnotizing. Very relaxing and inspirational. I like the idea of a stitch journal.
Thank you! 😊💕
Hello dear! I like your works very much! I want to asking how you setting the camera during ur embroidery? Do the camera overhead position? Do you use tripod? Thankyou and sorry that I asked too much. 😊
Hi! Yes, it is a special tripod or stand to use with tables, works for overhead shots but not only :)
Thankyouuub🤗
I really love how you embroidered the leaves. In fact, I'm going to use that stitch on the leaves in my current project.
Beautiful work. Thank you for the tutorial.
Love the vlog, but I wish you would speak louder
Thank you! Yeah, I will probably stick to subtitles until I get a better microphone :D
Just getting into embroidery, I just bought a preprinted sampler to practice, the instructions do say to use a backing fabric if preferred.... I wasn't sure what to use as a backing, I have some fine iron on interfacing so your embroidery hack has helped me. Many thanks your youtube films are very informative, your embroidery is beautiful. Many thanks for the March free pattern.
I'm happy it was helpful! Good luck with your sampler project :)
ماشاء الله
🤗❤️
I really like the fabric you use, it looks thick. What kind of fabric do you use, and where do you buy it from? It's an amazing job, congrats :)
I use quilting cotton! Both the plain and the patterned fabrics are cotton. I buy them in local shops in person, but there are stores online for patchwork and quilting, you can usually find there both plain and patterned options. Also, the fabric looks a bit thicker because I strengthened the page on the left with a stabilizer (before stitching) , and the page on the right is worked on top of a base layer of fabric. Closer to the end of the video, you can see it on the upside :)
I just love your choice of fabrics, the colours and delicate patterns work so well together and the metallic thread just sets everything off perfectly.
Thank you! 😊💕
Beautiful work👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 do you have a Facebook page? I do receive your blog, fabulous 😊
Thank you! No, I don't have Facebook, sorry! 💕
I enjoyed the video very much. I hope you do more, and especially flip throughs of your other journals.
Thank you, Lisa! ❤️
Beautiful work Amina ماشاء الله
Jazaki llahu khayran 😊💕
Thank you for the video, your work is so beautiful, I think a flip through of your other journals would be fabulous. 👍
Thank you! :)
Hi!! I recently found your blog and then your insta. Your work is so beautiful and dreamy... so feminine 😍 (for me at least haha) I love it!! May I ask why you put fabric around your hoop? And also, would you teach how to mount a finished embroidery on a board? As I saw in your page 🙏🏻 If not, it's ok. Thank you and I'll wait to watch your beautiful embroidery development!♥️
Hi! Thank you so much ❤️ The fabric around the hoop decreases stress on the ground fabric, it is easier to iron the creases later :) also, personally, I found it beneficial for keeping the ground fabric taut, without the need to adjust it all the time!
Wonderfull joob
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✨
Fabulous! Thank you :)
This is so beautiful and inspiring! I can't choose a favorite page, they are all gorgeous 😍 And I love how well they all match together, this is a very well-curated artist's book. It's been ages I don't embroider. I want get back to it but I feel the ideas are lacking. In part, I think it's because I don't want to just do a random embroidery and then stuff it in my drawer, but I get too stuck in thinking my embroidery must have a ~~purpose~~ 😂 So maybe this embroidery journal format would be perfect for me! I can still do smaller and varied embroideries, while having them all collected like this would fulfill my need for a "finished piece". Thank you! 💕
"I don't want to just do a random embroidery and then stuff it in my drawer" - That was exactly my problem :D Journaling really solves that, hope you give it a try :)
Fabulous tutorial! Thank you for such a detailed process video!
I love this idea, you are so talented! I hope to see more videos from you because I find your work very inspiring :)
Thank you, Mari :)
I love this. I am hopinh to put my work in a journal like this but how did you 'bind' it all together. Love it
Sorry for the late reply! I shared this method in one of my courses :)
I love the idea of having an embroidery journal!
This is just beautiful! I was always taught to do the leaves and stems first before applying the stumpwork flower, but I suppose whatever works for the embroiderer is all that matters! I LOVE your hydrangea! Thank you so much for sharing!
So beautiful. You've definitely inspired me to try something similar. Would love to see how you go about stitching the book and pages together. The doodles at 2:16 are so cute, how did you do them?
I added a couple of links in the description, one for the tutorial on how to make pages, and the othet about embroidery doodles. Although I don't really explain there the process, but basically it is mostly laxy daisy stitch for plant doodles, and tiny french knots and seed stitch for dots.
@@stitch_floral62 thank you so much for replying, I'll check out the links! I can't wait to see more videos in the future 😊
Hi Amina, I love your work and your lessons! I've tried the long and short stitch a few times, but I have a lot of trouble determining where to put the directional lines and then getting the thread guidelines to follow it - they always seem to end up going in different directions. Do you have any advice for setting it up? Thank you!
So you have trouble with determining where to mark guidelines on fabric, right? Hm... Well, if we think of a shape... How about marking, for example, 5 dots on the top, and 5 dots at the bottom, and then connect them with lines? Then, place guiding stitches right on these lines, and if necessary, in the middle between them. Hopefully it makes sense :) keep going!
Lovely! Amazing talent and skill and dedication.
Oh that's too kind 😅 thank you 💕
This is a work of art!
Thank you 😳
Thank you, lovely.
❤️❤️❤️
Such a beautiful flower!
