We have a DCC fitted O4 and we also have had a shutters wagon with pickups on the wheels permanently wired and attached to the loco. This makes it much more stable at slow speeds and when shunting etc

very good advice regarding second hand, dc is 'direct current', dcc works off ac current 15v which is converted by a bridge rectifier in the chip to dc for the motor, alternating current (ac) allows the control system to alter the hz's (hertz/frequency) which is deciphered by the chip allowing control of individual locos on the same powered piece of track,

Good to see you can make progress on the build. You have a nice long run with that layout and the transverse curves at the back is going to give you some great running shots. You could see the snaking effect even with one coach on the loco. Stephen
