What kind of rain do you expect this time of year?
THANK YOU for thinking about your neighbors when you fertilize - manure, especially pig manure, is a great fertilizer but the *smell*...!! I'm a non-pig-owning neighbor in California...lol. 😊😊😊
Wow, you have got a kool farm. I will like to know what you do with the pigs waste pls?
Very nice video 🐖👌👌👍
Nice video Super 🐖👌👌👍
Whats wrong with nickelback?
Is there anywhere a farm where all the machinery works at the same time? ❤❤❤
How many sows you got? And are you farrowing every week or batch farrow?
Weaningly pigs have always been my favorite. They just act so cute, dancing around like little goats. Easy to handle, no attitude and tiny body weight. We had about a 250 pig batch one time that escaped the barn and got in the corn field when it was about a foot tall. you couldn't see the pigs, you just had to watch for the way the corn wiggled to get in front of them to head them back where they belonged. You've got some good looking little pigs in that barn.
How long does a sow stay in your herd? I would assume they get culled if they fail to catch on the second insemination, but how long do you keep a productive sow in your herd? I raised hogs on a small scale. We seldom kept a sow past her forth litter because her body weight had reached a point we couldn't handle her safely anymore and we felt she risked crushing her piglets. I had not seen the stalls set up so they would lift before. That certainly must make weaning much easier.
I bet that smells... lovely.
Owt
Hot MAN ! Sexy Af !

farmer got a PhD in manure does the same go for cow manure
A while ago, storms in the southeast caused a bunch of hog waste ponds to overflow into streams and rivers, I recall. Seemed irresponsible to set such things up. This seems better managed. Hard smell to get used to though. Better Dan than me, I think.
Thanks for the great explanation! Are there any issues with groundwater contamination with the pig waste and does the manure carry any pathogens or bacteria? Thanks!! 👍
We’ve got a 21’ version. It’s all an 8RX370 wants. I’d rather have a Lemken Rubin 12. Deere and Degelman dog walk 1 foot to the right. We can’t go pass to pass with it or it leaves a 1 foot gap. We lay off a land and always turn up the right.
Funny how they will shut down a beach or lake if there are traces of feces but it is literally sprayed all over the ground where our crops grow.
Oh, wrong idea. I thought this was about humans & their waste. Farmers doing a better job!! Stay safe.
i can supply you pig products, such as nipple drinker, drinking water bowl, feeding tough etc.
You have to have a lot of Trust in the Processor! I would have said there are more honest people in farming... but then their is Deere!
Locality and history with each other. Interdependent businesses. You never want to get a reputation as being dishonest in small area.
Wow... that is a lot of hands on work. Great helper! What is the purpose of the Sow Elevators? An Alarm System that is only monitored by you and people you want notified. I wish my home alarm was like that. I went to their website and it says "Communication Method: POTS Telephone Line" I am guessing a number "dialed" does not know if it is a POTS line or Cell Number. I noticed you have a POTS line. I don't want the police notified... they just break stuff.
Can you explain what "Tiled" is and How it works?
I’m from thedford
Thank you for uploads, of your farm & Animals. Pretty cool to watch esp the pigs. 😂 just wanted to say thanks I enjoy watching. Good Stuff. I’m a truck driver from the city don’t get to see any farms. Learned alot. Cheers From Philadelphia. 😊
Was wondering about smell issue even with disking?
You can still smell it a bit of a few days but way better than leaving it on top
I was stationed in West Germany in the early 70s and the local German farmer had some fields next to our base. The farmer would spread the liquid cow manure and urine on the fields when the winds blew towards our base. He apparently didn’t like Americans going back to WWII and boy did it stink. 😂
Haha that's an interesting tactic!
What he probably doesn't appreciate is the fact that his country is still under US occupation 😎
@@goodlife6277 Yes we thought about that every time we smelled that smell. 🥲
Thanks farmer Dan
The farmer should be envied in what they do. With all that expensive equipment to operate & maintain, seed and supplies and still provide for their own family and make a profit, probably barely a profit, amazes me.
I wouldn't trade it for the world!
You work hard and productive. It's fulfilling watching you distribute your energy efficiency like this on a daily basis. Hope your family takes after you❤
Could do with some DRONE aerial shots. Aswell 👍
Would love to but my drone died on me a while back.
i can smell that from my desk lol, brings back memories of the pig farm that was down the road where i lived as a kid.
Haha oh come on it ain't that bad!
Dont call me to work on it!!!!!
The stench must be incredible...
"that's the smell of desire me lady" - Brian Fantana
@farmerdan87 NO, that's pig shit. Anyone that dosent have to smell that should be thankful. And it will continue to smell for decades.
Ripe
Very sneaky Daniel! You got him on the video! It'll be great for you to have that extra land back. Great work Marty! It's neat to see you in action!
I knew I could get him! Marty's doing a great job 👍
