I played this deck this weekend and offspring'd Boss's Chauffeur. Both wound up 15 +1 counters that turn to 1/1 WG Citizens when they die. Board wiped and got 30 1/1 tokens turning Zinnia into a flying 1 hit death machine. It's a super fun deck to play so far even before upgrades. I think Pollywog Prodigy has potential to do pretty well. Enough that I wish it had "may" in the description.

I don't know if a "twenty-toed" toad, is "10 toes per feet", it's just 5 toes per appendage. It already has 5 visible on each "fore" appendage (from the picture), and I think they hid the bottom appendages just so we could have this discussion.

My biggest question with Mockingbird is how does it interact with offspring in Zinnia? If I use offspring with Mockingbird, does the offspring cost apply to the total mana spent to cast? Also, how does the offspring token work? Does it come in as a 1/1 of whatever I copied, does it copy something else that's 1 cmc or less? I have literally no idea

Fisher’s Talent you draw whether it is a land or not, right? You just get a token if you reveal it’s a land? So, 2 cards per turn for 4 mana?

Lots of not pirate ships in this pirate ship deck.

My upgrades were small, but reinforced the group hug and counter-accumulation strategies. if I were going to make any further upgrades, it would be switch out the arcane signet with spectral searchlight and switch out the sol ring with tempting contract. it really doesn't need anything else. honestly, I think the four upgrades I made are enough. so, with that said... I am going to sleeve it and seal it.

I think you’re under estimating fishers talent. It’s phyrexian arena with maybe upside for 1 more mana

How does the Zinnia with other Offspring? Seems like it assigns the ability to creatures that don’t have it, but those that already do instead get the 2 cost.

Just picked this deck up yesterday and it is definitely powerful but… it’s so freaking weird. Totally not a play style I’m used to

Pollywog would be great in synergies with counters. Put that in a mothman deck paired with Danny pink and Nadu and your whole deck is gone in 5 seconds

Awesome video! If i could make a suggestion, what about combining The modified creatures precon and the dogmeat precon? Would they go well together?

Using this as a base for a ygra commander deck

For Pollywog Prodigy, if something gives a creature +1/+1, does it get those before it enters, or does it enter and then get them? As if you have something that gives the +1/+1 to things, then polywog is gunna ramp up pretty crazily.

it is shocking how many misconceptions there are about creative energy. it wasn't really built to focus on energy, just creating copies and using energy for payoffs. That's pretty much it. so, it isn't intended to be a deck entirely focused on using energy all the time. I like the deck because of the ways you can upgrade it. me personally? I didn't go the route of combining science with creative energy. eileened more into its artifact token creature creation and replace some energy payoffs with others that I thought were much better suited. also switch to the backup Commander. and particular reason because the face commander seem to be long more in the 99. because to me, the deck after all these upgrades had seemed more in line with the Tron movies? I added the Tron lands. All three of them to generate the excess generic Mana needed for these payoffs.

how I would it upgrade this is.. parallel lives to reinforce what the deck actually wants to do. that is create more tokens. it might be squirrel themed, but it is entirely built around the purpose of creating tokens. using those tokens. to that end, I was switch out the other rat token creator with something much deadlier... karumonix. not only will your rats have deathtouch, but also poison. with so many tokens being created and killed, you really don't need any more rat creators anyway. and is something screws up that strategy, you have your other tokens to fall back on. I am also throwing in the apothecary from peaceful offering and to offer better protection, the archon of endurance. The archon of endurance will give every creature hex proof. for my land package, I am definitely adding in the arcane lighthouse. just so I can get around other opponents hacksproofing their creatures. and of course, you cannot have a good token deck with green in it without scute swarm. why? because it'll make one hell of a distraction. since this deck has black, you could easily bring that back a few times. assuming they don't exile it. maybe throw in some land fetching spells and save them all for when you bring dcute swarm onto the field and multiply it all at once.

May have missed the "draw a card" from the fishermans talent. Not a great card draw engine in blue or green but specifically you cant just "leave a land" on top because youll draw it and then draw the next card too

Jimmy, the most fun commanders for this set are from animated army and family matters. but, since this is a video about animated army... me personally on the upgrade path? I am starting with some protective measures for the commander specifically. adding in plenty of hexproofing and graveyard recursion. just so I can bring that out of the graveyard at any time with ease. after all, there's one thing I've learned from match the gathering... it is at graveyard recursion can be found in any color identity. why would I include such a defensive package for the commander though? because I see other players gunning for him, much like they would go for the commander from explorers of the Deep. Yes, I see Bello spending quite a lot of time in the command zone. barely any on the battlefield as it is. but let's say I get that issue taken care of. My next focus is to choose an upgrade path, either artifacts or enchantments.... both. I kind of prefer enchantments though and would convert animated army into a good enchantress deck.

this deck is already considered powerful out of the box. many videos around UA-cam even convey this. but I think it has the potential to be the most powerful jeskai precon,.. exponentially increase its threat by adding a few creatures with annihilator. give each one offspring, but I'm pretty sure so many people out there have figured out how to make it even more threat inducing than that.

Exterminator Magmarch isn't very good in this deck, there's only 3 spells in the deck it can actually copy(terminate, maelstrom pulse, and bituminous blast which you cut) and the dual card type doesn't help enough to justify its inclusion. Liliana has a resurrection effect and it ends up being one of the stars of the deck: a turn 5 Archon of Cruelty is devastating and will let you stay ahead even in multiplayer games, conduit of worlds is a fine addition to the deck. Its weird you'd cut Find and Finality but add Slimefoot and Squee, the deck already has better token generation and you're cutting efficient graveyard retrieval that can double as a board wipe for a clunky creature based effect.

Think there's a combat celebrant infinite in the Riders of Rohan deck as well

Seems like a fun deck. I feel like Burgeoning would be really good here since you’ll always have a full grip

I want a copy of polywog prodigy for so many of my decks. Mothman would LOVE him. I can stack so many 1/1 counters on him. Also anthems are great for his evolve because they apply on enter, so buffing your tokens should help get more evolve triggers

I love frogs so giving us frog lovers pollywog prodigy is awesome as it's a really nice card draw engine we can slot into some other decks, especially with the frog tribes whole thing being enter and exit the battlefield bounce effects.

Cool video! Been familiar with Commander for a while now and play on TTS with friends very casually, really like this deck and might actually buy it as my first deck!
