Otter Creek June 10, 2023
Otter Creek is not known by tourists so it makes it easy to kayak. We 4 had a wonderful time. It was a little cloudy so we hid from the sun and amazingly we did not get attacked by bugs. Of course, we all were cover with sunscreen and bug repellant. We paddled for about an hour. Here is about 10 minutes as we got back to where we started.

PPC flying in Panama City Beach - 5/14/2023 SR2cl
Переглядів 708Рік тому
A perfect day in Panama City Beach, Florida. Things are improving. We had high winds for what it appears, forever. About 8 mph wind today. My wife calls this type of day "A Chamber of Commerce day". The length of the video is about 25 minutes and was shot on an Akaso V50 action camera. The beach is not jam with tourists yet. Memorial day is coming.....
Bumpies PPC fly ever in Donalsonville Municipal Airport, GA - SR2cl
Переглядів 1412 роки тому
High noon in Donalsonville Airport. 85 degrees. No airport wind sock, only my small wind streamer which, I found out, you do not want to place near concrete because it blends right in. Almost impossible to see from a few hundred feet above. You will notice me looking at the chute often because it was so bumpy I thought there may be something wrong with it. Kept telling myself "Do not over contr...

Flying my Sixchuter in Donalsonville Airport - SR2cl

A short video of me flying at Donalsonville Airport in Georgia. A very safe area to fly because all the fields surrounding the airport would provide you with a safe emergency landing area. Wonderful, friendly town, where I felt welcome.
Moonshiners Fly-in in Mountain City, TN - August 9, 2021 - SR2cl
Переглядів 2593 роки тому
I arrived to the fly-in the day after the main event because I did not hear about it until late in the date of the main event which was Saturday. I heard about altitude density which, if I got it right, the higher altitude really affects the gasoline to oxygen ratio on an ultralight engine. I live in Panama City Beach, FL at sea level.. Mountain City's altitude is 2418 feet. It took me 3 times ...
Kayaking in Burgess Falls Park, TN August 6, 2021 - SR2cl
Переглядів 473 роки тому
Visiting Burgess Falls State Park, TN with Fonda's cousin Bobby McCoy and his wife Bobbi. A very memorable and wonderful day. You see no real waterfalls in Florida. I strap the camera to my head after I start it and pretty much forget about it. You will see a lot of rocks because I was almost barefoot and trying not to step on rocks. I suspect the Bobbie's will soon own kayaks. Enjoy.
Flew my neighbor, Rodney Roell's, Buckeye powered parachute - SR2cl
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
First time I pilot any other ppc instead of my own. This ppc is larger with a bigger engine. The biggest difference for me was to remember that the throttle direction is different than mine. Rodney's engine holding frame is bent which we found out it render the right steering bar near useless. You will notice me trying to make a right turn with it. It took me a few seconds to remember I could g...
Short PPC flight from Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, Florida - SR2cl
Переглядів 1743 роки тому
The main reason for this flight was to find out if I put the parachute lines correctly on the metal links after pretty much taking all the lines off the links due to lack of patience while packing the chute away. Found a video on youtube with a man demonstrating how easy it is to measure the steering control lines to the correct length. Here is that link. Worked perfectly with my old Sixchuter ...
Sun and Fun PPC's, Lakeland, FL 2001 - SR2cl
Переглядів 803 роки тому
This is 20 minutes of PPC's and other flying machines flying in 2001 Sun and Fun in Lakeland, Florida. All the machines formed a circle and a control person signaled the pilots when it was time for the pilot to take off. The trick was to lay out the parachute, inflate it, and drive to the launch spot. Very short fly times with limited air space due to the large amount of all types of flying mac...
Landing on Gene's back yard - SR2cl
Переглядів 1413 роки тому
This was my 3rd powered parachute flight on my Sixchuter SR2cl back in the year 2000. My wife was the passenger of my instructor Gene Brown while flying over Fitzgerald, Georgia. She filmed this on DVD. Gene decided we have flown so much that we needed to land because we could not make it back to the airport. They were making circles over Gene's house waiting for me to catch up so I would know ...
First Flight - SR2cl

My wife made this DVD of my first solo takeoff in the year 2000 on my Sixchuter Sky Rascal 2 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. I am the first one up and my instructor, Gene Brown, was second. Great flight with no issues.
A very unique Spring Break in Panama City Beach, Florida March/28/2020
Переглядів 684 роки тому
Drive-through Pier Park during Corona Virus pandemic. Most stores are close. Only a few take-out restaurants are open. Yesterday I drove my motorcycle about 9 miles from West to East. Maybe I saw about 20 people walking or jogging on the road. Beaches are close and if caught on, could cost you a $500 fine. Prices in grocery stores have gone down because most people are out of work due to their ...
Take off from Frank Brown Park, Panama City Beach, FL 11-10-2019 (SR2cl)
Переглядів 1034 роки тому
Take off from Frank Brown Park around 10 a.m., about 8 mph eastern wind. Flew to about 500 feet and headed to the beach, was not comfortable with the sound of the engine, turned around and flew around the park a little more. Engine sounded normal so I headed to the Beach East bound. Very few people in the beach due to 65 degree weather so, on a power out, I would have room to land. My favorite ...

That was neat!! Put a camera and point it towards the water where we can see large fish and sharks. That would be fun to watch!!

I think I would only get ONE opportunity to take off with my PPC from a public park around here, then I would be banned.

Too bad you don't have a better place to take off. I didn't know what was going to happen but the title tipped me off. As soon as I saw the poles I thought...uh oh. It's enough for me to take off at the airport let alone with huge light poles and people obstructing the runway. I own a 1999 six chuter 503. Glad you made it safe!

When I was laying down the chute the wind was blowing straight from the South. By the time I got it laid out, it had switched to South West. I would have to pick the chute up and move to other side of the park. What screwed things up, I had reattached the chute and placed the little black marks I place on the control lines where they are tied to the steering bars in place, but when I took off, the left steering was totally off with about 10 inches of free play (Why???). If the free play was 2 inches, as Sixchuter recommends, I would have had no problem. I am glad I do not panic under stress. Thank you for watching my video. Blue sky and safe flying.

That's a bummer! Ive had the wind switch on me before too. My last flight before the cold the wind did the same thing to me. I waited a few minutes and it swung back long enough for me to hit it. Then, when landing it had changed 90 degrees so i had to land in a different direction. Thankfully my airport welcomes me out there. :)

I was probably using my helmet cam on that one. A cheap motorcycle helmet with a screw on top to hold my inexpensive Kodak z8. If not on that video, on others. Most of the time I forget that I am shooting a video. Concentrating on enjoying my flying and staying safe.

That is one pretty wing. It looks like you're still getting used to the new wing. From the video the landing looked a little hard, how did it feel? I liked Fonda's commentary.

It sounds like your truck is all set for Gatlinburg. I think you may have just infected your passenger with the flying bug, only time will tell. Thanks again for putting us up while we were down there. I'm looking foward to the fall.
