Uzbekistan: At the Crossroads between East and West
Drawing from her experience as curator of the seminal exhibition Splendours of the Oases of Uzbekistan presented at the Louvre in 2022, Yannick Lintz highlights the specificities of Uzbekistan’s complex and rich cultural identity, and the challenges and choices involved in bringing it to a broader Western audience. Delving into the core narratives of the exhibition and the conditions under which it was organised, she highlights the cultural and diplomatic significance of the endeavour.
The Splendours of the Oases of Uzbekistan exhibition took visitors on a fascinating journey to the crossroads of civilisations, in the heart of central Asia, in Uzbekistan. The exhibition looked at how, through the years, this hotspot of exchange and cultural flourishing provided a forum for Western and Eastern civilisations to dialogue and mingle harmoniously.
Insider’s View is MAP’s series exploring behind-the-scenes journeys of different aspects of museums and exhibitions that inspire and engage the audience in different ways. Through the programme, museum professionals take the audience virtually to diverse institutions around the world and share stories, anecdotes, rewarding experiences, and challenges they face in conceptualising, as well as developing the project in focus.

Viewed as quiet spaces with people spending on there own. Our museums talk to each other describe things to one another inside the galleries. It is like theybring a part of themselves to the museums.
that's a cool explanation, fun observation
Learning about the changes in our society through food and Art is a very interesting. Very Nice.
Map of the Maratha Empire and rest of India, is incorrect.
All these are Buddhist kings and Buddhist Shilpa kala where is the pali pakit inscriptions ?
I really enjoyed listening to this fascinating talk by this inimitable scholar of Indian art and painting; and also derived great pleasure and joy from viewing these rich and ornate and extremely colorful images produced by the Mysore court. I have an interest in manuscript paintings and I have shared this talk with my followers on Twitter. The talk was delivered with a certain controlled passion for art by the connoisseur and it was as greatly illuminating as the illuminations themselves!! 👍
ROBLOX IS LIFE!!!
