Alright there!
I'm Peter..... I'm from the North East of England and I enjoy all things outdoors.
I took up walking in 2015, walking Grisedale Pike in the Lake District, and became instantly hooked. The scenery up in the mountains is magical and one everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
I completed the 214 Wainwright's in 2022, which was a huge personal achievement and progressed onto solo wild camping on the summits and around the tarns, absorbing the atmosphere of what my surroundings have to offer. The sunsets, sunrises and temperature inversions are unbelievable.
I continuously try to improve my equipment and clothing as much as my finances will allow. I'm also up for trying different activities and learning new skills.
I also have a micro camper, which will hopefully broaden my horizon and take me to locations further afield.

A SHORT WOODLAND WALK
A short walk around Wynyard Woodland. For this walk I parked at the North end, just off the A689, which is sign posted for Wynyard Woodland Walk. The walk could easily be extended, which I will do another time by carrying onto Thorpe Thewles and visiting the Planetarium and the Station House, which is now a visitors centre. There is also parking available at the South end, if you only want to visit the Station House. The walk is pretty much flat so ideal for those that lack a little bit fitness.

A canny weekend away in the Lake District, camping at Chapel House Farm at Stonethwaite in Borrowdale. This was a 2nd attempt at this camp, having bailed the 1st time last year due to the weather conditions and the lack of experience solo wild camping. That's part of a cycle ride i used to do and the old train station is now a cafe iv also walked thet a couple times nice walk
It’s a nice walk, definitely gona extend it next time and probably walk from Sedgefield to Thorpe Thewles then up to to Tierly wood and back to Sedgefield via Cote Nook Farm. Thanks for watching. All the best Peter 👍

Hi just wondering what hard shell are you using and is it any good many thanks?
The jacket in the video is the Rab Vital hooded wind shell, packs down really small but really does a brilliant job of keeping the wind chill out. My main winter hardshell is an old one tbh, it’s the Mountain Equipment Janak, which they don’t make anymore, it’s a 3 layer Gortex Pro shell. My summer hard shell is the Montane Spirit Lite Paclite, haven’t tried it yet as I’ve been fortunate with the weather. ATB Peter⛺️👍

Alright David, the jacket in the video is a wind breaker, it’s the Rab hooded Vital. It’s absolutely spot on for keeping the wind at bay. The hard shell jacket I use is an old one by Mountain Equipment, it’s the Janak which they no longer make, it’s spot on. Atb Peter 👍
I'm just back from a day hike with some wind. I suffered more than I should but that's nothing compared to what you experienced.

Last time I walked Melbreak, I stopped off at The Kirkstile in for a well earned pint of Loweswater Gold 😂
Beautiful location. I have the Abisko Lite 1 but much as I love it, if I had the Soulo BL I'd happily sling the Abisko!

Great scenery and my favourite tent! Mine just held up in very wet conditions on Dartmoor.
