I’d love to hear the Cole’s paired with the M149! Cool demo!
How would you use the blanket for avoiding the bleading effect?
Thanks for sharing
3 mics for sure
The DI and RE20 combo need time aligning cos there’s some weird comb filtering going on.
Great Video. I'm a piano technician/studio owner. I agree with all. Nice comparison. I've had great success with X-Y 414s.
less is more...., but with the kick...., so 2 microphones is enough..., maybe 3.... good video! love it!
Great video! Thanks!
Bad angles on the snare and toms......
great stuff Max! Thank you
I really liked the 3 mic setup the most.
Very interesting and very nice sounding! How good even the TLM 102 sound. 😍
Thank you! I love TLM 102's. They sound good on everything!
Hey, your intonation is REALLY good for a beginner. Nothing worse than an upright player that can't play in tune in a jazz setting. Good job!
Thank you! Having a blast learning to play bass.
Super content!!
Thank You!
Fantastic, I am looking for other vidieos!
Thank you!
Really great content!
Thank you!
The algorithm brings me here just as I’m thinking about how to mic drums for a video shoot in a large space. Thanks man!
My pleasure!
Loving this series, thank you for sharing your knowledge, we appreciate it!
Thanks so much for watching!
If you haven't, try the top snare mic maybe 2" above the rim and 2" back, pointed straight across the head rather than angled. It gives a very different transient, less of that 57 'donk' and the off-axis hat action is often less objectionable... or not! Thanks for taking the time!
Will definitely give this a try! Thank you!
These are great man, your drum vid literally popped up in my reccos an hour ago, watched the guitar next and here’s the bass! Fellow jazz guitarist and engineer here, and there’s such a lack of content on acoustic jazz recording techniques, so refreshing to see! Cheers!
That’s precisely why I wanted to make these videos! Not enough videos on acoustic jazz out there. Thanks so much for watching. Going to be releasing videos on brass and woodwinds as well as a full ensemble. Cheers!
@@summerland-recordingcan’t wait for the winds videos!
Great! Keep going. Acoustic Bass?
Working on an upright bass video now! Thanks for watching.
Promo_SM 💪
4 mics sounded best to me, but the "all mics" mix wasn't ideal so it's hard to compare. When looking at this particular sound/vibe, we should look to Rudy Van Gelder.
Rudy was the best!
Whats ur brother's snare? Is it the new supraphonic or the 60's one?
It’s a super Ludwig chrome over brass snare from 1961. The one with chrome over brass hoops.
Amazing and informative video. Keep the content coming!
great video!! hope you keep posting!
Thank you! More coming soon!
the jump from 2 to 3 mics was very noticeable; thank you for the comparison at the end as well!
Thank you for watching!
Great video taught me alot I didn't know thanks 👍
Thanks for watching!
Very informative... great job!
Arizona Cardinals?
Not my team, but I like the hat.
You have the most important piece of gear for any studio... The Lava Lamp
cannot be without!
Very aesthetic!
Hey man, UA-camr and music producer here! Just wanted to give you some advice. if the title says “built my dream studio” but your thumbnail doesn’t show a dream studio, not many will click even if the video is great.
Awesome set up though!
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate any and all advice!
Sick man! I love it ! I'm building my own home studio as well and I love the wood and brick
Thank you! Much appreciated!
