Great video. Would have been good to see you get in and out of the truck with the steps
how is it on the winter season?
Great idea. I'm a plumbing and hvac contractor and been using the decked system with a tonneau cover for 8 years . Been scratching my head on how I can still use the decked system and still get some large items in the back without sacrificing the tonneau cover and using one side like that may do the trick.
just the video i was looking for
These have an overly complicated installation process. Had they simply welded the mounts to the steps, like every other manufacturer does, you’d only have to worry about the attachment points for the mounts. Not to mention, the mounts hang much lower than they would need to if welded. If you ever go off-road, those have the potential to get caught up on rocks. Go Rhino needs to go back to the drawing board.
What did those animals ever do to you
Great tutorial, thank you!
Can I get part number?
A few other videos have installing the brackets installed the BBC other way. They have the L weld on the first bracket facing the rear, this video has them facing engine side of truck. Which way does it need to go?
Why would you use turf around your basketball hoop…
Wow, Nice tip!
Cute kitty
That looks like crap!
Nice tip!
Great short!!!!
How do u like the storage? Noticed the holes in the back can u cover those up to be weatherproof?
If you are speaking of the 6" extension storage. I did not really care for the storage. I believe they made the rack look better but did not really need the extra space. Holes have plugs for them
@@SKYdesignbuild oh i was referring to the storage chest. On my rack ive mounted apache boxes on the side but thinking about buying the chest.
@@Sanjuk0522 I loved the storage chest. That was the entire reason for purchasing the KB Voodoo system for me.
@@SKYdesignbuild last question when you open up the chest door does it interfere with the tent on top? Currently my tent is wider than the rack so I'm hoping the chest can be still opened without the hinge hitting the tent.
@@Sanjuk0522 The door did not hit the tent but it did hit the alucab shower I had mounted to that side. I opened it as far as it would go and then used a small prop stick I had made to keep it open. There really was no issues because I did not need the door to open more than about 75 degrees.
Looks like a banjo!
It is a Heavy Metal Banjo.
Only helpful IF the holes are where it is wanted!!!…. ALSO, the center hole cannot be done on the second device!…
Great build, are you going to play the theme to Clutch Cargo?
Great Idea!
You make it look so easy! Love the music! You guys are amazing!
The patina spray looks great! Nice job
Hi great video does the rack block the camera?
The rack did not block the camera but the tent I placed on top did block it.
Can you tell me where you bought it, for how much, and what it’s called? Thank you
Hello
Good video. Was looking at these for my Silverado.
Great steps. Slim profile but does the job
You sure make this look easy. 👀 Great job
This is an awesome idea! I’m getting a GFC topper and tent combo, and this would be perfect for that set up. Can you list the things I need to buy to secure the system to the tie downs? I have a 3rd gen TRD Offroad Tacoma short bed. I’m not too fond of drilling into my truck bed as instructed by DECKED.
You can use all the original tie downs except for the one in the rear center of the bed. As far as drilling into your truck bed, I disagree with decked. One hole in a truck bed 3/8" dia that is drilled will not hurt the bed. The bed was designed to be used not designed to just be a cosmetic attachment behind the cab. Once the hole is drilled you could use a paint pen to go around the drilled area so no corrosion would begin. Just make sure the bolt does not interfere with your spare tire mount. Good luck.
Just got my Slim Lines this week. According to the Go Rhino instructions and another video...the body attached Brackets are “backwards” on your install. The longer part of the bracket , that attaches to the running board face towards the rear.
Came here to say this too.
Completed my install today and because of your video I saved a lot of time and frustration The install went exactly like yours did. My measurements were super close to yours. I wish my shop was as clean as yours. How do you keep your trucks underneath so clean. Looks like a hospital environment around there brother. I truly appreciate your help.
Glad I could help. Thanks for the shop compliment. I am a bit nuts with the shop, when it gets unorganized I get a little crazy
Man this Badass, I’ve been wanting to something similar, for hunting. Great video.
Fantastic for hunting. Glad it helped you
Good quality install my friend. My RB20 slim-line will be here next week. Your video will help so much. I too have a Gen3 Tundra. You brought up some great points I had questions about. Thank you very much.
Thanks glad it helped. Sometimes we need to see the details
This is perfect. I need the decked system but I still need to have half the bed for buckets of water when I am window cleaning. Thanks for the thorough walkthrough! I'm going to by one second hand and cut it up nice!
Glad I could help
How much ?
Keep up the great work. Love that your diy/mod to get what you want.
Sometimes you have to. Appreciate you subscribing
So, you let the deer basically destroy your decoy and don’t shoot. Hmmm seems to me like one of those trophy hunter types. Where I come from you can’t eat antlers.
Just enjoyed filming him
can you do a video and go over your westcott and tires spec?
Sorry I seen this comment too late. I have sold the truck. I will say I loved the Westcott lift and I was able to get 33's on factory rims to fit and not rub.
awsome vid! can't wait to see more
I just installed these(non slimline version) on my 2019 TRD PRO. I wish I would have watched this video first. My brackets are "flipped around" the other way. Didn't seem to make a difference, but the directions were not specific. They actually mislabeled the brackets. After I discovered that, it didn't seem to matter. They look great, but now I'm frustrated that they may be backwards....
Can you see the u bolts through the holes in the running board? Mine went on the opposite of what are shown in the video as well. But my instructions say I did it proper. Just wondering if no matter what you see the odd u bolt through the boards?
@@chrisheath3385 I can't see anything unusual.
@@ironmaiden8625 I mean u-brackets. Like you can see where they attach to the running boards. I can see them on the second bracket and the last bracket. Can see them. I would have assumed they would be designed to be hidden between the holes.
@@chrisheath3385 Mine are not the"slim line" model, so there are no U bolts. I'm not sure how different the design is, but you really can't see the mounts on mine through the holes in the steps, unless you view from underneath.
I’ve seen the install video from Go rhino and they have the brackets flipped from this guy. The weld on the bracket should face the rear of truck
Are the brackets side specific?
Geezzz!! Why didn't you stick him?!?!
How much was the total for those?
Sorry to get to this so late. Around 150$
So glad to have found this video, I have the exact same tundra and was curious what these running boards would look like on it. I got impatient trying to find the truck and running board combo photos online and ordered them anyway. Glad to see how good it looks!
Good video. Easy to understand and good points of view. Just curious, how did you get 1 5/8” on the rear with your wescott lift?
Jake the lift can be 1" or 2" on the rear. The 2" is sold only through run4tacos.
@@SKYdesignbuild thanks for the reply. Any potential issues with overextending the rear shock with or without the additional weight on the back?
@@inyowindow No issues so far but I have not driven it much. Only have 800 miles on it and so far so good
Great video. I like the look of the slim lines but put the wider version of the RB20's on my 22 tundra because I'm tired of watching people slam their door open like no one is parked near them and door digging me only to walk off like nothing happened. If doors were straight the 1" clearance would be adequate but doors tend to be angled forward on their vertical edge (especially rear doors) and that allows them to damage you even with an inch of buffer.
Glad I have you to install things for me!!!!!!
I love the bugling advice. That exact Scenario happened in 3c AZ. Only little bulls would come in to the call, the bulls 330+ would take their cows and peace out 😢.
Great information! Thank you
Where's the sportsmanship in that? That's not hunting.. That's target shooting. What a puss.
Not bad advice. I think if a guy is willing to follow this advice given the right circumstances, eventually he’ll be successful because he is #1 willing to do what it takes to harvest an elk. Most guys just don’t put enough hart into the hunt to get it done, weather it’s sacrificing sleep to listen for bugles or get high enough or far enough in or practice their calling enough and train during the off season. And what the hell is the off season anyway? I have no off season, there is always something cool to be doing outdoors. OTC DIY All the way!
Anumal abuse! (DeCoy abuse!)
I don't think that one hundred percent right about the bugling. I can't say to much but I have killed two cows trying really hard on getting a bull. The people I listen to on podcasts say people that hunt just do a location bugle they don't make sequences of how it actually goes on. Like Paul medel says bugle then stomp the ground take an antler an rake a tree. Elk are actually noisy by nature I did not know that at all. But certain time for certain calling sequences. Podcasts has helped me a lot. I only really got into archery for two years one without advice didn't see or hear anything. Second year after listening to Paul helped a bit. Food for thought I guess.
Note.... the 80's XXX movie theme music.
