Hi there thank you very much for this video. I'm a Ugandan and my main motivation for working with the UN is its efforts to resolve conflict within my native continent of Africa. Growing up the late Kofi Annan was a big role model. I am currently applying to get into a master's programme. Thank you once again for sharing your insights

Hi, I'm curious about the health care part. Can you buy medication, such as painkillers or allergies medication, without a formula? is it too expensive?
Since 2020- I have been aspiring to work for UN but it is very complex, But I still have the passion.

Hi ! Did you pass a written test ?
Hi from Azerbaijan Dear Amy!☺️🥰 I am an English Language Teacher and I wanna be so much in a position at UN, but don't know in which direction should I apply. How may I enter as an employee? Thanks a lot🙏🏻Good luck!🌸
Hey I’m from Zambia, I’m a lawyer, how can I apply for these jobs at the United Nations.
To earn money in the international community in Geneva - English is good enough. But when it comes to spending what you earn - you better speak French. The local French-speaking community actually resents not speaking to them in their local language and you will find it difficult to get the service you need.
How can i get a job for un ?
50% of the residents are French bc of the stupid freedom of movement agreement that has pushed every other nationality out of the city, including ironically the Swiss themselves. I know this bc I lived in France over the border before the agreement, a steeply place that now has more houses in it than Geneva itself it seems.
Hey Amy. how are you? How can apply un job please give me thought and thank
Hello , mam i am doing CMA u.s , is there any possibility to get job in UN.
Hi Amy! I really like your videos the sharing from Alina is also very inspiring. Thanks for your efforts! I look forward to watching more contents in your channel ;D!

Your video is so awesome! Thank you.
I m interested
Hii amy I'm doing Master's and I'm 35 yrs old, can I apply for UN job, please reply
Damn...stores closing at 7 and not open on Sunday..😮
I am always surprised that most of the Swiss blogs do not mention this typical Swiss feature. Nope - no gasoline stations open during weekends other than on major Highways. Switzerland is most certainly not a "weekend trip" country. And that includes most Restaurants and Retail Shops. The only exceptions - major railway stations and Airports.
I want to work for UN specifically UN SDG's. I'm MSc in Chemistry ( recent post graduate ) #why
Sounds like you‘re on the right path! Good luck 😊👍🏻
i also want the same
Damn, the neighbour thing is sadly true. Swiss-germans have a subReddit just for these (r/buenzli). Sorry you had to experience that. 😅
Aw, thanks for watching Guillaume!! ☺️🤍 I’ll be sure to check out the subReddit 😅
Thank you!!
Thank you for watching! 💛

Hi Amy, thanks for this video! I just wanted to ask you- by when do we hear from IHEID regarding the application?
Hey! I think it depends on when you applied (early bird or late application). Recommend checking their website or reaching out to the admissions team! Good luck xx
Can you please guide me how to apply for this job @amy
Hi Amy, this video is really helpful thank you 😊 Also, I had a question: did you get the UN internship while enrolled at IHEID, if yes did the school help you in any way during the process. I was inspired by you and my own research, and I’m planning to apply there for my masters, I’m currently a junior in a college in New York. Thank you again ❤️
Hey Rayhana! Thanks for watching. Yes, IHEID does help you! They have a careers website where they publish new opportunities weekly. They also help you with writing your CV & Cover letter & do mock interviews with you. Plus, they have a huge alumni network, that you can reach out to :) Best of luck xx
@@amy_nguyenI just applied for a position and the job status saying active 5 days now. I applied for World Food Program UN, Aviation job. Could please one day make a Video of the job status, I hear they keep changing from active, hired, under review, under consideration and more
Hey!!! Is it possible to do internships at UN during the first 6 months in Geneva?
Hey! I think it depends on your citizenship, as the Swiss authorities have regulations around that. This is what IHEID's website says: "Non-EU/EFTA nationals are not allowed to start a work activity for 6 months upon their arrival date in Geneva unless they are getting ECTS for their internship. EU/EFTA nationals can start immediately upon their arrival in Geneva." Source: www.graduateinstitute.ch/career-services/work-authorisation-and-administrative-support Good luck xx
Hi Amy My name is parag, I am business graduate student with 6 years of experience as an executive assistant And while working I have prepared for UPSC Civil services examination which gives me a knowledge about international relations, geopolitical issues, economics but unfortunately i couldn't clear the exam and now I am thinking of doing my masters from Geneva graduate institute in the field of development studies specialised in conflict peace and security, do you think I can still get into the program. It will be a big help if you solve my doubts
Hi Parag! Thanks for reaching out :). I think you should definitely give it a try, if this is what you're interested in! Best of luck, Amy
Hi Amy! Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! I'm a newly admitted student of IHEID, and I have some questions on the Picciotto residence. It seems that there is no kitchen in your own room but a common one, but I didn't found this type of room on the website. Could you please share some information about the type of your room (i.e. single apartment, shared room, etc.) and living experience? Thank you in advance!
Thank you so much for sharing it! I took your advice and just received the offer from IHEID :))
Hi Amanda, Massive congratulations!!! Glad the video was helpful. Best, Amy
Thank you very much for this! It is very helpful! Goodluck with your studies!
Thanks so much for sharing your Personal Statement and also breaking it down with advice for students who may have different profiles!
Thank you Amy for sharing your experience in the application process. I currently work at the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Mexico and I'm planning to apply to the Master in International Development at the Graduate Institute. I would love to hear more from you experience. How can I reach you? Thank you in advance, Alfonso.
Hi Alfonso, great you already have work experience under your belt (and very relevant!). Could you post your Q here for other friends to learn? Alternatively, you can check my bio for contact info. Best, Amy
Hi Amy! This was a great video, would you be open to chatting with me about your experience thus far? I'm thinking about applying to their PhD programme in International Law.
Hi Lily, thanks for your feedback! Uff.. to be honest, I don’t know much about the PhD programme as I only did my masters. Best, Amy
This was very informative. Thank you so much. I am currently doing Mass Communication for my undergrad ,can i be able to apply to the International affairs programme or the masters degree of choice has to be related ro your undergrad?
Hi Nadiya, I think you can absolutely apply! Make sure to clearly state your motivation to pursue the MA in International Affairs in your personal statement: why this degree, why the Graduate Institute, and how will the skills you have gained in your undergrad help you succeed in this degree. Best of luck, Amy
@@amy_nguyen thank you so much
Thank you Amy for sharing! I come across your video because I’m looking to apply to Unige and this is so helpful!
Hi Lydia! With pleasure! UNIGE is really fun, I did an exchange semester there. Let me know how your application goes. I can also make a video on student accommodation if you're interested :)
Hi, Amy I really appreciate you, Could you help me please about the recommendation letter Will the institute contact the professors? Or shall we send the letters? Thank u 😊
Hi Bişeng, I appreciate your feedback. To be honest, I don't remember (but I think the school approaches the professors). My main tip is to approach your referees early and ensure to upload the rec' letters on time. Best of luck!
Hello Amy, thanks for this amazing video. May I ask you something abit more about motivation letter? Is there any social media, including whatsapp, I perhaps could ask u?
Hi Chanbormey, please accept my apologies in answering late. Check my bio for contact info Best, Amy
