    Can taking glucosamine tablets a lot help the labrum - cartilage at a faster rate? As well as using an inversion table to stretch things out?

    • @askdoctorheather
      @askdoctorheather 18 днів тому

      The jury is still undecided on whether or not glucosamine truly helps human with healing human tissue/cartilage. If you notice it makes you feel better there is no harm in taking the tablets (double check that it doesn’t interfere with any other medication you are taking). As far as an inversion table to stretch out the body, it will be more effective to the spine than the extremities.

      The occurrence of this injury can vary but more commonly it is due to the nerves becoming over stretched in that area which than causes pain especially when trying to lift the arm. The why depends on how the injury occurred. Are you currently having pain?

      You can try over the counter antiinflammatory medications if ice/heat and massage are not helping. But do make sure to double check that nothing you are taking would be contraindicated with any other medications you are currently taking. Like a broken bone healing stronger in that very place than it was before with added bone mass, does the labrum heal stronger once fully healed? And would using a heavy rubber exercise band pulling the ball ever so slightly from the socket while exercising help as seen in Squat University youtube videos, etc?

    • @askdoctorheather

    Great video editing and helpful diagram. Can confirm I never really understood or enjoyed planks but my main issue before meeting Dr Heather was my form. Keeping my elbows under my shoulders, keeping my head straight and not letting it droop too much and just focusing on form over time was the key to not hurting myself more and building up my strength. It hurts from working on roofs

    • @askdoctorheather
      @askdoctorheather 2 роки тому

      Ok got it! A majority of roofers I have worked with suffer with a tight QL (Quadraslumborum) which is a muscle that comes off the 12th rib as well as Lumbars 1-4 and attaches to the top part of the pelvis. Because of the position you are in on a daily basis this muscle can either get over stretched or over strengthened depending on which side you are favoring more when working on the roof. If you have a tennis ball or lacrosse ball at home you can do some simple soft tissue work after the work day. Lay on your back, with the knees bent so the feet rest comfortably on the floor, place the ball off to the side of the spine in the small back area and just let your body melt over the ball. There will be some tender points so go at your comfort level. If you are not sure where to place the ball in the description box associated with this video I give a diagram of where to place the ball for free - ua-cam.com/video/dl_RoArP26I/v-deo.html Let me know if you have any further questions.

    • @askdoctorheather

      It's not a bad exercise but it not be the right exercise/stretch for you. Based on the video here that you watched do you notice if you have an anterior tilt? If the answer is YES then you want to address your hip flexors (the psoas/illiopsoas muscles). Doing some simple stretches to these muscles will help take tension out of the hamstrings.

    Dr. Heather I just came across your video today! It was very informative. My feet hurt especially my right foot (4&5 metatarsals snd close to base of toes). I also have calluses On the bottom of my foot right under my fifth toe along with bunions. I haven’t been to the foot doctor in a couple years. And I’m planning on probably going soon because I’m having trouble walking. Several years ago I had orthotics made which I have not been wearing. I usually wear good shoes in the winter months Brooks but wear supportive sandals in summer most of the time! I’m carrying an extra 100 pounds also which I know is putting more strain and wear and tear on my feet. I took your wet foot test and I posted a pic below along with a picture of my shoes. And it does appear that I’m a supinator and I was aware that the outside edge of my shoes always get worn. But my foot doctor told me to wear stabilizing shoes with orthotics. I also had a gate analysis long time ago and was told I should wear neutral shoes. I’m confused on what type I should wear! I would just like another opinion and you seem very knowledgeable. I’m hoping you can give me some advice on what would be the best shoe to wear for walking. My upper foot area also splays out. My feet and body are a hot mess! I also have plantar Fasciitis, IT band pain, etc! Please help😩

    Your information isn’t correct Get informed about a disease. Not a common headache. Cluster headaches affect 0.01% of the population. Making it rare. Not common. The causes you suggest are comical. It originated in the hypothalamus. CH is not fixed my a quack. There is no cure. Only remission.

      I do appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and I did listen to your story on your channel. Having a condition/disease that goes un-treatable for so long can be so debilitating and hopefully others who watch your Vblog will feel a sense of hope especially since you have experienced it all. As far as the video on here goes, I am mentioning three headaches that can present themselves even though yes a Cluster Headaches does represent a small population but it's important to draw some awareness to this type of headache. Because as you already know from first hand experience, it can be misdiagnosed. I do not state in the video that a chiropractor can relieve someone with this type of condition/disease. This video was meant to be a quick overview not an in-depth discussion on one vs the other. Wishing you much continued success and living a life pain free.

      Apa jenis dokter di dekat Anda? Apakah ada kota terdekat di mana Anda bisa pergi ke ahli terapi fisik atau ahli osteopati? Anda harus menjalani pemeriksaan profesional pada lutut terutama jika lutut bengkak dan sulit digerakkan. Mengesampingkan kondisi peradangan atau cedera yang lebih serius seperti robekan ligamen akan menjadi langkah pertama.
