Introverted Travels: Nature Tries To Kill Me On The Timberline Trail
This hike starts out so innocently. There I am, tip toeing gleefully through the forest, visiting some interesting waterfalls, and trying desperately to avoid other people. But nature doesn't usually take kindly to me having any form of happiness, so the next thing I know, it's forcing me up and down narrow trails, over unstable ice fields, into roaring rapids, and across melting snow banks. Yup, sounds like a typical Sunday Hike Day to me...

Weird Trail Cabins, Historic Inns, & Proof That Humanity Sucks, On The Tilly Jane Trail
Переглядів 725День тому
Part One of our Summer: All Winter Long series. On this episode, I'm hiking the Tilly Jane Trail, in the Mount Hood Wilderness, to the historic Cloud Cap Inn. Along the way, I encounter green forests, burn scars that reminds us all of the horror of the human race, and a weird cabin. Oh and of course there's people. We can't forget that nightmare. #hiking #hikingadventures #mounthood #oregon #or...

This week I'm in Robert Louis Stevenson State Park, near Calistoga, California. I'm on my way to the top of Mount Helena, to see both the beautiful views, and the beautiful radio/cell phone tower that sits at the top. Along the way there's a fire road, a semi-annoying family, and more damn fire road. Yippie. Note: Chronologically this was my FINAL hike in California. However, I still have sever...

Yet hikers nonchalantly walk up and down obvious downhill Mt bike trails and then blame the bikers for almost causing a wreck that could kill someone
Agreed. That is also awful. Bike-only trails should be hiker free.
SATANS BIKING MINIONS is so real😅
Nature without many people is beautiful. Except at night. Then it gets scary.
That’s because nocturnal animals are all freaking insane. The minute the sun goes down, the owls have to start screeching like they’re demons from hell, and small furry things start crawling around the bushes. Night is not for the faint of heart.
Glad you are having fun, wish i could do that still, however, way to go. Stay safe.
The walrus death would be tuff 💪🏼💪🏼😂
Fus Ro DAH!!
Haha I like the term hiker trash 😅
“saw haw LEE” falls
lol yeah it’s best not to dwell how words are pronounced when watching my videos. I butcher absolutely every name there is. I try to correct it when I record the opening narration, if I can find the correct pronunciation. But it’s a free for all when I’m out recording. Proper language is just a suggestion when I’m in the field.
Hiked the timberland trail on mt hood several years ago with my son, great time
You had me at..."I'm gonna get the hell outa here, because...people"
When was this filmed?
@@hondakid9170 last July. It’s part of my “Summer All winter Long” series. I saved all the super cool adventures for the crappy weather months.
Love the mt hood walrus
Nice video. Good quality. Can't believe you don't have more subscribers.👍
Thank you. I'm slowly but steadily gaining more subscribers. I think it's really a combination of my material being pretty niche and not appealing to a wider audience, and my total inability to play to whatever makes the UA-cam algorithm do it's magic. I do ok over on instagram with reels, so I have some audience, but here on UA-cam I've yet to break through. Fingers crossed. I'll keep making videos and see what happens.
Great video
I’m in the north bay, let me know if you want a hiking buddy!
Love your channel man!
A lot of hot takes in this video
Yes, my takes are almost as hot as I am. But it’s hard to reach a goal THAT high…. SIZZLE
Yes, great spot to hike to - done it at night on a full moon and watched the sun rise - epic spot, can see all the way to SF on a clear day. Also - thanks for commenting on how loud people are in nature, talking self importantly loud afraid of the void (just shut up, exactly).
T this was awesome
Nice hike!
Breathe.
Death by hummingbird 😮 Alltrails is always trying to nip ya
Love it lol, complete with numbers that don't go up to 10
Just ran into you for the first time, first of all love you bro. People have lots of separate reactions to everything, it’s just what makes you a little different than everybody. Don’t kick yourself you’re trying and at the end of the day that’s the biggest difference maker. You will get it eventually!!
You are gonna EAT THOSE MFKRS !! Eat the entire bag! You have been chosen!! Those m&ms BELONG TO YOU NOW!! The responsible thing is to EAT THOSE M&Ms. Eat em! Eat em all! Every damned one of them! EAT THOSE M&Ms !!! 👍🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪👍
I thimk a lot of the haze is from prescribed burning. LOTS of it showing up on Watch Duty these lasr couple of months. Ironic you are complaining about quiet when you are playing (way too loud) music, lol.
I’m not playing music on my hikes… I add music to each video. No music is played in real life. The forest doesn’t need to hear my death metal polka jams.
@IntrovertedTravels I didn't write that well, I meant that some of us, perhaps I am rare, prefer no or low music in our videos. Regardless, hike on, enjoy.
@Berry_N well I support you in whatever creative decisions you make for your videos. Follow your inner muse.
I think you should do a Steve's Silent Minute for every hike. Just a full minute of no talking, nothing but a slow pan around. Just a thought.. ;-) Keep'em coming!! Be safe out there.
I’ve done a few seconds of that before. It gets ASMR ish pretty fast because it ends up being nature sounds. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
That sounds like a nightmare family 🤮
Saturday morning complaining!!! Heck yea
Love your new day & time
Oooooooh 🎉🎉🎉🎉 exciting times xx
It’s almost as exciting as when dinner is ten minutes early and there are extra Dino nuggets on the table.
Hope you actually find some mushrooms next hike. Maybe all this rain here in the Bay Area will bring us some goodies
I’m now living up in the Pacific Northwest. This particular video was filmed last year before I moved. However, I can tell you that there have been many a mushroom adventure up here. You can see some of the giants from Washington state in my Indian Wilderness videos (Red Mountain, Lemei Rock, and Indian Heaven trail).
Just an idea. Play some dueling banjos by remote control from speakers on opposite sides of the trail and I guarantee any human that has seen or heard of the movie Deliverance will run back to their cars. You will have the whole place to yourself!😊
Just discovered you ❤We share the same thoughts about humans 😂
16:22. That face sums up the trail people rating 😅
That’s a pretty one
Whoa, way too many people for me. Fun trip, nice views. I'm gonna follow your videos.
Although I will never hangout with you for any reason 😭😭😭😭🤣 hilarious.
🤣🤣🤣 just discovered your channel, and as someone who also loves solo hiking and NOT running into anyone, this made me laugh so hard at your commentary.. it's exactly what I think in my head when I run into annoying people ruining my solo nature time! go away!
Is the antisocial ranting real? I mean do you have friends or do you really dislike people that much?
@@markgebert2541 lol well it’s satire. Based in truth and then exaggerated beyond reason. I’m not quite this grumpy in real life. I don’t hang out with people in person very often though. And I absolutely hate crowds and gatherings. But I took my normal personality and upped it to 11 for purposes of veiled social and environmental commentary. But if you watch my back catalogue of videos you’ll see how ridiculous it gets lol. I think around the time I started talking about angels dying due to trail conversations (dog mountain video) is when I hit my stride.
I love this area - it's filled with great hiking!
Do this missles have the Nike symbol on them
No There's just a large flat concrete slab left of the missile site. There's also an abandoned World War 2 artillary bunker nearby. This whole area used to be a US Army base until the late 60's.
@markgebert2541 those Nike sites are all over the place. They were over in the headlands of course, but I came across another pad over in Richmond as well. Bay Area was well covered.
The trial candu was a gift from Bigfoot
This was Just chaos 😅 peoples, wild children, penis rocks 🪨 high inclines beautiful environment!
Penis rocks are severely under-rated
What
😂😭❤️
Nice video!
Hollywood new years is a war zone 😢 I didn't get home till 7am!!! The club ended at 3am Traffic, idiots, accidents. I had to just sit down people watching 🫥🔫
Great video!
I like that muddy sloppy mess of a trail. It’s how I got prepared for Helen’s
lol too many tourists
