    is the 2023 frame for D7 same frame as T7/T8? It looks like Polygon´s only manufacturing is the frame and verything else was mass purchase thereby lower price for whole bike to end consumers. Can the wheels for the 2023 frame and nobby nic tires be easily converted to tubeless? I don´t see any tubeless ready logos on either the tires or the wheels.

    Could you comment how the D7 compares to the Marlin 5? I've got a 2019 Marlin 5 with 29" wheels in size M/L and I feel like its too big for me. Id like to upgrade to a full suspension, the Siskiu D7 has me really intrigued but not sure if I should go for it (currently can only find the 29" D7 for sale for $1400 USD). I've also got a Giant Fathom 2 (2019) w/ 27.5" wheels in size Medium and it feels a LOT more like I'm in control and nimble. Do you think the D7 would still be more like the Marlin where it feels like a boat compared to a? Should I sell both my current bikes for the D7? I'm torn as I absolutely LOVE the paint job and the price is amazing.

    • @blandgreen4135
      @blandgreen4135 Рік тому

      I wish I'd seen this comment sooner because I've just upgraded from my 2021 29" Marlin 5 to the 2023 Siskiu D7. I was very hesitant but found the D7 on FB Marketplace for $1k. It's absolutely night and day difference. I thought it felt kind of big when I first sat on it compared to the Marlin but when I took it out on the trail it felt really nimbal. Not as twitchy as the Marlin but you're comparing an XC bike to a trail bike. Going from the coil fork and 3x7 of my Marlin to the 1x11 and air suspension front and rear was an incredible difference. The D7 feels 10x more confidence inspiring on the trail compared to the Marlin 5. If you can find the money or a lightly used one I would absolutely recommend switching. I hope my insight from going from a Marlin 5 to the D7 like you want to was a little useful even though its been 5 months

    Came from you clash review video, nice to see you shred a medium bike. I am also a 5”11 dude with long limbs. I have been searching the whole internet for almost a year everyday for options because I couldn’t decide M or Large. I do find smaller bike more maneuverable but every single size chart or shop staff suggest me to go large, or even xl. I am not even buying this bike, but I got a perfect answer from you, Thanks so much, I’ll get a medium bike for next year.

    • @karlxu782
      @karlxu782 2 роки тому

      My current bike is large with 475 mm reach, had to mullet it with 32mm stem, just did everything that reduces the reach. when I try my friends bikes, I always find reach around 445-465 is my sweet spot. But the shop staffs and size charts say otherwise, they say I need a reach beyond 480mm, because my limbs are longer than some 6’2 people.

      I know this is an old comment but for anyone else looking, this bike is abnormally good on the uphills. I did a 7 hour long ride in WNC with 5k feet of elevation gain and enjoyed this bike. Of course, it’s natural element is on the downhill with massive jumps and gnarly terrain, but it’s not that far off from a lightweight enduro on the ups. Some of the models come with lockout but not all. You could always swap out the shock if you want though.

    Just found your channel in my recommendations today. Nice clear explanations and reasoning. I have had my Polygon Xtrada 7 for a month now. They make excellent bikes. Watching tons of videos I have noticed that Polygon owners on the whole are overjoyed with them. I feel so smug that I probably paid at least £600 less for the spec of going for any other brand. In the UK the Xtrada 7 is a mere £800.

    Just bought one of these. Really excited as it seems much sturdier than a lot of the tradition stands in the price range. Plus it takes up way less room which is great because it’s on my balcony in my apartment drilled into the railing. Probably not great for my security deposit but convenient nonetheless!
