    Im a chimney novice, and we have bought a house where we don’t have the Chimneys sealed at all. What is that curved concrete part on the top? How can i search for this part or someone to do it for me? What do you call it?

    Did you use the additive Akkro-7t in the Tamoseal? What happens if you don’t. Our supply company told us they don’t use it or sell it??..

      I use the Akkro. I have used a standard latex bonding agent in the past, and it did not seem to be a problem, but I try to stay with the recommended product.

      Tamoseal is a great product.Akkro 7t is a good bonding agent additive but 'Mascobond AR' (not SBR) is far superior. We are a stucco company (40+years) out of Portland OR and do a lot of crown repair/rebuild. Great video. Thank you. @@YamhillCountyChimney

    Great video! I've got some minor cracks on the vertical surface of the crown and chips on the edge of the crown. Should I fill them in with concrete / something else or will tamoseal take of that?

      Flexseal cracks easily after a season or 2 in an outdoor setting.

    What's the best way to do cleanup of all the mortar around the chimney without damaging/discoloring the roof? Did you hose it off before it dried? Did you let it dry first? Shopvac?

      Always use a canvas tarp. Harbor Freight has a 4x12 that's dirt cheap and good quality. Saves you a ton of time on cleanup.

    Hey Cliff, would you recommend using Tamoseal on the side of a chimney, I have a cement masonry coating over the blocks. I want to really seal it up. My house is 40 years old and the sides are holding up well, but staring to show weather wear. Some say it would work great, your thoughts? Thanks.brucewkrupke@gmail.com

    When replacing the crown do you install a barrier between the concrete and the brick or just bond them together? Other videos stress concern about different materials expansion and contraction. Thanks

      Silane-Siloxane, looks like Foundation Armor is the most well-known brand. I plan on doing my chimney with it soon.

      @@Ekic chimney saver is the best is allows any moisture escape when water proofing but will repel the water I feel the best.. and this skirt flashing around the chimney looks horrible
