Grooving Concrete

Manure can make the barn floors greasy and no amount of scraping can fix it. In order to make sure there are no accidents, we need to cut grooves into the concrete so the cows have more traction. @ECOLOWOOD HOLSTEIN HAPPY THANKSGIVING OF 2O24!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE UA-cam CHANNEL AND ALL THE AMAZING UA-cam VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!! I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Well done - that is a lot of food in the pantry. Blessings!
missed your videos :) glad to see you back
Nice video farmers
Thanks 👍
Nice job fixing the lights Jaron - I would really like to see you guys wear safety classes when jumping the batteries - you saw the sparks. If a bad cell (hydrogen) is around, you can have an explosion and get acid thrown at your eyes. Blessings!
I agree with you , should wear safety glasses .
physiologically- was the word you struggled with :) Nice job with the harvest, I've watched all of ypur clips, and really enjoy it. What about that spoiled corn on top of the pile? Do you discard that while feeding out, or mix in? Is that alfalfa opened from the side not going to go off from oxygen exposure? We have limited space on our siage pad and are hesitant to make one big corn silage pile and feed half width. We are much smaller dairy than you, and I am afraid that exposed side of pile would yeild too much spoled silage. We don't own a defacer, just a bucket with a grab on in, it leaves silage face similar to silage rake. Greetings from Poland :)
We do not feed the mold on top and sides . We had about 50 tons of garbage from the top and sides . And then another 50-100 tons that we faced off and put in a pile for the heifers . (Not moldy , just not good smell and a little heating) . I didn't used to like splitting the piles either , but the taller the pile, the higher the density is . The higher the density is the lower the shrink is on the whole pile . Can't get tall enough to get the height without going wide enough . That's what I tell myself when we are facing the mold and spoilage off to justify splitting the piles. We also don't have any extra square feet to make smaller piles that we don't have to split.
Boy talk about a holypail
Yeah , didn't realize it until we went to use it 😊
Can ye not connect a water supply to that machine to help with the dust??
Yes you can. It is very messy and alot of messing around . It does help with dust though .
Interesting video... good luck guys....
Thank you 😀
Nice job doing the manure slide dance Jaron. How long do the blades last on your grooving machine? Blessings!
About 30,000 sq. Ft.
@ ouch! $$$
Actually, after thinking about it, it's probably more like 50,000 square feet.
@ THX. Maybe just $ - blessings!
Great video
we had Daves grooving from green bay do a diamond shape in our barn no slip any more. thanks for all your time nice job
Too noisy
Top work Best regards Steffen Hilbert Cattle breeding and hoof care master Germany
What variety of corn was that the cobs where falling off?
Gr8 job turning a mediocre year into quality food Jaron & Brian. Blessings!😊
I can’t believe you guys don’t keep your windows cleaner. That’s how accidents happen.
Impressive
what would your feedout rate be out of face of those piles? per week lets say? Do you have any face heating issues?
We feed about 6 -8 inches off per day on the haylage. The corn silage we split the pile and take more like 10 in off per day. If the plastic is cut back and the top gets wet from rain is when we get heating. Otherwise not bad.
Thanks guys...
How are the economics (“not that much more”) of hiring a drone sprayer vs owning a spray rig Jaron? Blessings!
Hey Tim, it is a few dollars more per acre for the application, but we run zero corn over. I think it's actually more economical this way.
@@EchowoodHolsteins Gr8 to know..Thx so much. God Bless your farm!
Good video. Your New holland is a beast. When you cut the maize? Greetings Belgium
@@boertjejanvh3696 It will be after a killing frost which Will probably happen in October. This stuff dries down very slow so I could see it being November before it's harvested
Good job Jaron!
