    WOW ! I have always had a suspicion ! As MTF 20 years plus I do wonder what is target estrogen level ? WIth 1 patch I am at 86 pg/ml. With two patches I am at 167. I suppose with 167 being in the middle of the 65 to 350 range given in this video that would be closer to optimal !?

    Thank you very much for this very informative presentation. I received my first GlykanAge test result this year and was really pleased with my result. My chronological age is currently 59 years, my biological age according to the test is only 36 years. That's a whopping 23 years less. Now, of course, this is not set in stone, so I will continue to do the things that I can positively influence, such as getting enough sleep, eating healthily, weight training, getting enough exercise through fast walks and jogging, taking sensible supplements, etc. And you're right, the motivation to improve is also what drives me. After the first test, I started taking an additional dietary supplement (Nuchido Time+). It's a 2nd generation NAD+ booster and my experiences so far have been exceptionally positive: After 7 weeks: Reduction of belly and hip fat clearly visible. Overall, my skin is softer and the first very slight improvements in the skin's appearance (fresher and finer pores) are also recognisable. In the meantime, I have increased the number of pull-ups in 5 sets to an incredible 192 repetitions. Before taking Nuchido Time+, my limit had been 150 repetitions for many years! I have also made progress of between 5-20% in all other exercises since I started taking Nuchido Time+! The muscle pain after the training sessions is reduced and also gone much faster. More by chance, I have discovered that I have become faster when I go for a walk. Overall, I feel a boost of energy that I didn't think was possible. Additional improvements: Deeper sleep, reduced sensitivity to cold, longer endurance, faster recovery, improved metabolism, improved weight control. After a year, I will carry out the second test with GlykanAge to see how my values develop. The whole thing is a positive cycle. More energy and motivation leads to more exercise and activity, more intensive training, but also taking into account extended periods of rest. I am already very excited about the results. The GlycanAge test gives me a tool that shows me whether something is working or not. I think the prognostic ability of the GlycanAge test with regard to potentially imminent serious illnesses is outstanding. From a medical point of view, this opens up new possibilities for preventive rather than reactive treatment.

    Your social media marketing is extremely uninspiring … I follow health and longevity and do most tests available and the only time I’ve r heard about glycan age is one time on Joel Kahn (heart doc VIP) podcast. Even after taking the glycan age test the prescription for slowing aging is always the same .. eat plants / exercise / don’t smoke / don’t drink …. Same prescription for every disease …

    If my glycan age was X years less than my actual age .. if I expect to live another 20 years .. does this mean I’ll live 20 + X more years (Assuming I don’t get hit by a bus) ? Or .. suppose I’m 70 and my glycan age is 90 .. should I get my affairs in order ? If I’m 70 and my glycan age is 30 .. should I have an affair ?

      Large studies showed that low GlycanAge correlates with higher life expectancy, but not in such a simple additive way. It also correlates with disease risk, but since GlycanAge is not registered as a diagnostic test, if you want to interpret it in a medical context, you have to ask your healthcare provider to interpret the result for you.

    • @snorkchop8134

      Stop eating sugar and replace it with birch xylitol. You don't need much. My mom uses 1-2 teaspoons alongside vanilla and whipping cream and it makes a good ice cream. You might add berries too which are low GI. Or organic dutch cocoa for chocolate flavor. If you must eat grains please use heirloom grains with fermented dough because it's way healthier than the bad stuff at the store. Instead of a synthetic multi, something natural, such as freeze dried grass-fed liver pills which has everything you need but is bioavailable. D3+K2 by Dr. Berg is great. The combo is the right amount, and together they work to get plaque out of the arteries and put the calcium in the bone again. It also helps immunity. Wild caught fish with the skin but don't cook with omega 6 oils because it's bad for you. Pasture raised eggs and chicken meat and pork. Grass-fed beef and dairy. Redmond's unrefined sea salt instead of table salt. Make sure everything is organic non gmo because otherwise it's hard on the body. Pasture raised bone broth can be shipped to you too which is great for lots of things including gut health. I think colostrum is good for immunity and gut health too. Matcha with raw honey. Camu camu powder for vitamin c. Notes: with the liver pills, they say to start w one a day for the first week and then move your way up the second week to two, etc, to the full dose. This is so your body doesn't heal too fast. I took it and it's great. It's got niacin in it too which is another great thing about it. I hope this was helpful.

    Thank you for such a fascinating interview. Last year I was diagnosed as being perimenopausal after suffering 5+ years of ill health. I am one of those women you described in the interview who went from near perfect health to having multiple health issues such as allergies, food intolerances, digestive, circulatory problems, skin problems, sensitivity to sunlighr- plus all of the most common perimenopausal symptoms. Basically my whole life has been turned upside down by the perimenopause. I realise that I have probably been suffering with symptoms for 10 years prior to my diagnosis. I am familiar with both Dr. Louise Newson and Prof. Tim Spector and think they are doing amazing work on the menopause and gut health respectively. If I have one criticism of Dr. Newson it is that she talks about HRT as if it is a cure all for all perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms. Very rarely does she mention that HRT does not suit all women. Unfortunately for me it was like taking poison as it made all of my symptoms worse as the oestrogen caused a vicious cycle by raising my histamine levels thereby making my allergies and intolerances unbearable. It is a shame that Dr. Newson did not mention any of the alternatives to HRT. I had never heard of GyclanAge until listening to this interview so this is definitely another area I shall be looking into to help me on my journey to good health. I am already working on improving my gut microbiome and have join the Zoe health study. I think Prof. Spector and his team are doing an incredible job on educating us on the importance of the gut microbiome and how personalised health care can help. Finally, I would like to say what a brilliant job Rina did in conducting the interview. She was so composed and asked great questions. She should be proud of herself. She's a star!

  • @ladybugsareviciousdefenders
    @ladybugsareviciousdefenders 2 роки тому

    That was really interesting. I’m perimenopausal and tired of the lack of information coming from the sources it should come from so I have immersed myself in learning over the past week or two. Dr Newson has taught me so much in my trawling. I am making a list and going to see my GP armed with my new knowledge and am determined to find the help I need - help that should be offered, knowledge that should be explained by the professionals, not sought so hard by ourselves. I am hoping I do not have to fight for this with my GP, but am determined to stand my ground, get my life back, get my libido back, get my pelvic floor back (!) and get my joie de vivre back! It boggles the mind that 100% of women go through menopause, over half the world’s population, yet it is hidden as a guilty secret and no knowledge is passed on about it. My Mum said even those who have been through it do not understand it, and that is so true. It’s like we still live in the dark ages, where periods were secret and young girls thought they were dying because nobody ever told them about it until after they started!

    I'm wondering why if testosterone is equally as important according to this doctor then why is testim not prescribed when you've even had a full hysterectomy and bi-lateral oviotomy as I have at an early age. My GP has refused to prescribe it saying it's not licensed by the GMC and her hands are tied despite my consultant telling me it's essential for libido & energy. I have to pay for a private prescription from him rather than get it from the NHS this is despite him repeatedly telling me it's misinformation that she can't prescribe me testim due to it not being licensed and that there's nothing stopping her from doing so. I'm dead on my feet without it at age 39. We are being failed constantly.
