Raven 26 "Tamlin"
Переглядів 331Рік тому
This comfortable, sea kindly craft is considered by many to be “safe as houses”, and have great appeal to first time keeler owners. Their well 'balanced' sail configuration, and 'stiffness' enables them to carry full sail in up to 20 knots capability. "Tamlin" is a Raven 26 Mk 1 launched in 1977. She is big enough to take the family sailing, and the flush deck design maximizes the interior room...

⛵ Hi guys, thanks for the invitation to the annual classic boats messabout in Porirua today. Unfortunately I was too pressed for time to bring my Hartley 16 Project, but it was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and to be apart of the fun.

As Bruce Garrison says, a brilliant video, but I would like to have know where you were, what bays and harbours. Thanks
Yes, I agree - a lot of work and very watchable. Look forward to more. Sometimes I think that narration is not nessasary.
Would a reef for the main be a useful addition? At more than 6m the mast is quite a twig for the 16ft boat?
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah it would be (especially for Wellington conditions).
Yes, I was thinking that. I have also now rigged a topping lift on mine as the boom gets in the way when I have to mess around at the jetty. @@alexpaterson7846
THere is a lot of work gone into this video ... movie and music kept it simple.
excellent

Nice last name
Nice one.
Hi Alex. Where in Auckland is it moored and how soon would it have to be moved off the mooring after purchase? Thanks.
It's up the Tamaki River, no immediate rush to vacate the mooring. Would you like to come view the boat?
Are you selling her?
Yes. She is currently located in Auckland. Happy to show you over her if you are interested.
@@alexpaterson7846 How much for her?
@@hectorh8504 It is on TradeMe at the moment. If you are interested I am happy to arrange a time for you to view her. Regards, Alex 0212541654
A great view of some beautiful boats and scenery.
A great day out. Thanks for taking us along.
Pearler of a sail Cheers Gray Brisbane Australia
Hey Alex that’s good work! Out of interest who’s the soundtrack by?
Very nice. Are you still sailing that Hartley?
Wow!!!
Awesome - thanks! My new fav treadmill sailing video :) I ran all the way across the harbour with you!
Look! It took me a while to find this account :D This is beautifully filmed!
😂
Outstanding ! absolutely beautiful
Really enjoyed the video, music not quite my style but I have volume control. I own a Junk Rigged Hartley Spindrift 24 but there is a rot problem I no longer want to deal with. So I'm downsizing to a TS16 soon. Looks like she handled the conditions really well.
are you the guy from the Cruising Helmsman aritcle?
@@TheKetamineSquid I am that guy. :)
@@Abby1952 i loved that article, it was a great read, among many others. shame that the Cruising Helmsman is no more...
@Raban BF I had another article on how to build a birdsmouth mast, but the magazine folded just before it was going to be published.
@@Abby1952 that would have been a good read
Get rid of that phone while your salingn
Hope your still sailing
Great footage! Nice way to show the engine! I have the same one and holds up pretty well!
just re watched this video.Only two things i'd change. The main is getting rid of that hanked main. Its a real pain(unless you have no choice) and fit a seperate topping lift.
Hi John, drill a hole in the bottom of the mast track to take a clip, feed all the slugs into the track then put the clip in so they won't drop out. Tie the main around the boom and have it all set before you go. Then just untie from the boom and pull the halyard - should just go straight up. Bolt ropes on a main are for dinghies lol.
@@johnmclachlan1023 second on the topping lift
Do you have info on fitting a topping lift?
WE have a furler on our jib and a separate topping lift.Makes life so much easier plus all lines lead back to the cockpit on our cruising TS16,And hanks? We have a bolt rope on the main
Do you have my videos of your TS16
Nice, ours is 6944.
Nice
:)
👊🙂
I thought my missus was slack at running the mainsail up till I saw this effort...all the gloves n gear and no idea ..... the boom vang looks slack too
😜 Hey Darryl, yeah that's me and I will admit that it was a slow hoist BUT having to slot each slide into mast track didn't help with the efficiency in this situation. Was a rather windy day such that all keeler yacht racing had been cancelled for the day but we still had to make it back across the harbor to the launching ramp (we got plenty of odd looks as we departed the marina). What do you sail? 🙂
met these guys - cool dudes. At least they're out there. Show some positive support :)
Fit a stopper at the bottom of your mast track, Easy.
Was it better or worse than stock
u can find a 292cc(sold as 300cc kit) cylinder kit(+6mm piston) for the gn on ebay for around 120 euros
I can testify to it working well

😂😂😂
sending mine back now!
you will need to adjust the carb jets too or its going to run lean and damage internals
Depending on bike. In some cases it will richen the mixture from loss of air compared to stock components.
great times as usuall
Is it any good?
jessica mia it's a crapshoot mine is super reliable but, I've heard of clutches going out right after break in
@@kendrickminchew1855 Depends on how forgiving you are with the clutch, on off on off on off, or if you're steady with it. I just ordered one. I will be changing the fuel lines immediately and adding high quality gear oil. If my clutch eventually goes out then I will drill the shaft to the motor so it's always spinning.
Awwwww :) They've all grown up!
Very nice shots! How long did you practice to use it so smooth? :)
+Andreas Stensig This video was shot soon after I got the glidecam. They take a bit of getting used to. Practicing in wind helps to keep you on your toes. Have you got one?
+Alex Paterson Thanks for the answer! I dont have it yet, but i.m thinking of getting it very soon! :) Do you use it much when filming a movie? :)
When I am run and gun filming I have the camera on it pretty much the whole time just because it is good for stabilizing moving shots and acts as a small mono-pod stand etc. I love it and it is my no.1 tool. If you are after extreme movie quality stabilization first time with little effort MōVI rig is the way to go. We have one at work and it makes all the difference if a moving stabilized shot is all you are after. They do cost a bit but it all depends on what you are wanting it for. BIG waves yesterday can cause problems by there's always an upside ... great surfing video
This looks as though it is a good bike to get and I have done some research into them I was just wandering how it rides?
hi, I can't balance my cam Canon 60D with sutefoto SF - 04, can you help.. Thanks :)
What an amazing video Alex. You really captured some great footage of God's creation there.
Thanks, Just what I was thinking…God has given us so much but so often we miss it or take it for granted.
Filming test...
Wow, great video.
