The thing about Gen Z is they love virtue-signaling They demand studios make equitable content to fix perceived wrongs and past problems with the material. They don't actually watch or want the stuff they just don't want the people who love it to have it anymore since it was “wrong” and not DEI enough. They are the new generation so studios are desperate to tap into them so they do exactly as they ask except then gen z isn't going to watch they will just virtue signal and join fights against the old fans. As a result the studios alienate their old fans and find no new fans to replace them. Then to justify to shareholders they join the call of “well the old fans were bad anyway so its no loss and our social media numbers tell us the true number of real fans loves what we are doing.”

Is it really so wrong for male players to want to play as a male character? How is that any different from female players wanting to play as a female character? Surely player choice and availability of options is what’s important?

I just want to enjoy a good story and plot with Star Wars. I don't want to watch a movie with political messages.

I'm on the fence with the notion of representation in video games. While I don't have a problem with the idea, as long as the character is likable, then I don't care.

The talent is so disconnected with the history of the media they represent that they really do think they are pioneers the "firsts", when in truth they are poor copy's of much better forerunners.

The media is slowing killing Star wars…. The only people who actually care about “diversity” in things like video games are the people who push for it. Make a good game, and it will sell like crazy. Period.

Using the argument that Snow White was made 85 years ago and it's 2024 and social politics have changed only makes sense if you're setting Snow White in a modern age, but they're not. Snow White is an 1800s German tale, and the social politics should reflect the social politics of 1800s Germany, not the politics of 2024. I'm all for multiculturalism in 2024, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find princesses of Columbian ancestry in 1800s Germany.

And kind of funny how everybody seemed to sleep on the fact that Warner Brothers is the one that interfered a lot with Zack Snyder's vision for his movies and his characters weren't allowed to finish their arcs so why would people give James Gunn a chance when a lot of people have been burnt by WB not even if you were Snyder front fan or not The fact that you wasted years investing in these characters and you never see them again Yeah it's the same thing as DC comic books rebooting their universe with new 52 it sound good at first but then after a while people be like wait no we didn't like this at all and that's what I think is going to happen with the new DCU

I love Henry Cavil and I think he did great as a Superman. The only thing is it isn’t the Superman you’d wish to see or come out of the comics. 78 Reeves was the closest we got to that and Tyler’s is the second closest we’ve got. Gunn is all for comic accuracy and a correct depiction and I think he will give us the “Superman” you’d expect when you think of Superman.

I think Gunn is going to create a better DC universe than Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder failed to see the core elements of Superman's character. Compassion, empathy, hope and most of all humanity. Zack Snyder tried to make these heroes godlike beings. Turning superman into a god. Turning Batman into a killing machine. Snyder never tried to stay to the source material but instead tried to create his own vision. Tbh he made these heroes similiar to the boys in a way. He tried to show how superheroes set in a realistic world would be gods above men. That's not what Superman is. Many of Gunn's inspirations for superman legacy that he has revealed so far show the way superman actually is a guy from kansas just trying to do the right thing. Marvel is the more realistic side of superheroes while DC is the more unrealisitc side. 'Marvel is a story about humans being elevated to the status of gods while DC is a story about gods learning their own humanity and becoming human.' Due to Zack Snyder and injustice all people think of when they here superman is a dude with a bunch of powers. Injustice and the DCEU shaped DC to look like a dark story about superhumans being gods..... DC is much more diffrent than that. DC is a story about gods going through traumas, learning the humanity inside of them..... becoming human. That's the DC James Gunn sees.... that's the DC that was loved by the OG fans. That's the DC that started DC.... not this dark, gritty story about gods doing whatever they want because they just can. Not about Batman killing people not about Superman deciding it's ok to destroy some guys truck cause he was being mean. No the real Batman wouldn't kill. The real Superman wouldn't let his anger get the best of him. One of my favorite superman stories one of the stories James Gunn mentioned he took inspiration from for superman's personality. And one of the best showings of the true superman is a story were Superman is ready to save a girl from committing suicide. However the girl doesn't want to be saved. So instead Superman's sits there listening to her issues helping her with her headache and listening. Saying that he can't promise her that her life is going to be perfect and that everything will magically be ok. But he can promise her things will get better. And that there are people out there that still care for her. As he safely takes the girl down because she asked him to. As a cop asks Superman if he would've let her die if she wanted to. Superman stays silent. If it was her choice to go then he couldn't stand in her way..... a hero doesn't enforce their own will on other people. As for Batman he doesn't kill and it's not cause he won't stop otherwise. He explains this later on that he believes in sacredness of human life. He believes that every life is meaningfull and that taking a life is the worst thing someone can do upon another. He learned the value and sacredness of human life the day his parents died. That's why he doesnt kill. Zack Snyder didn't understand that. There is a reason not a single DC fan liked his movies. Only casual fans liked them and only liked those versions of the characters but those aren't the characters. Those are the exact oppisite of what they would be.... Aquaman isn't this laid back dude that doesn't give a crap about atlantis. He's a king that puts his people above all else. Batman isn't a murdering monster. He's a vigilante with a no kill rule. Superman isn't some god people worship he's a guy from kansas trying to do the right thing with powers he has. Wonder woman isn't a war mongering superhero she's a compassionate person would try to refrain from violence. James Gunn understands what these characters actually are.... unlike Zack Snyder.
