Hi,
and welcome to my UA-cam Channel ! I`m a mobile Dj working in the Cotswold s and surrounding areas.
To me the "DJ" should be more than a guy sat in the corner playing music, he has a massive influence in creating the right ambiance for the whole evening . Which with the correct use of lighting, music choice, and volume control ! Is crucial to the evening, success.
My lighting system is being designed to help light the room beautifully for the first part of the evening, whilst people are schmoozing, and as the music slowly builds and the feet start tapping, the rest of the setup will slowly start to come to life! Leaving you with no choice.. other than to take to the dance floor!

Hi, the moving heads are Showtec Phantom 50`s. Run via DMX.
Brilliant video. I am toying between the newer Showtec Phantom 65 or the Equinox Fusion 100 Spot MKII? Have you any thoughts on what would be better? This is for my home bar/nightclub measuring 4 x 4 meters so only a small space. I used to work in DMX lighting but when everything was scanners. I used to have one of those DMX controllers that you have but have been told they are a nightmare to programme for moving heads due to the movement heads go through. Was quite time consuming doing the scanners when producing shows. Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you

Hi, They are Laserworld Pro 1600, running through DMX. Regards.
That are self made screens, I’ve just changed on of the sides to the wood, to pick up with the rustic barn vibe.
Have you changed the front screens of your foldable "equinox" screens?

Amazing lights and setup. I do think it was way too much for that venue though. I had visions of that little old lady being carried out on a stretcher

Awesome lighting display DJ Will... are these still the chauvet 250s? I invested in a set after messaging you last time. Hoping to add another 3 soon! How do you convince venues to allow you to use Haze? I find very few are willing to go with it! Good work DJ!!
Hi, thank you . The moving heads are actually Showtec phantom 50`s but they are very similar to the Chauvets apart from a couple of DMX channels . Actually most venues in the UK where I work are fine with Haze. I think this is mainly because they have open log fires, and they have heat alarms rather than smoke alarms.

Hi Mate, awesome video ! I'm looking into ordering the stars gobo at goboland too, but could you tell me the reference number of that particular one ? They have several stars gobos and I would like to have the same density as yours as they look awesome ! Thanks upfront.

Bless you thank you Max. I do put a lot of effort into my setup and your comment means a lot to me, thank you. Its not really about the equipment, its more about hours of programming that goes into it! I am spending all of January reprogramming with a better lighting desk, and I have just purchased another big laser that is in the centre, so I can have them either side of me now. I can`t wait for the first gig of the year next weekend!!

Yamaha DXR10's and 12's work great with the Yamaha DXS15 powered subs too!!
Hi Jon, indeed. At the start of the year I changed subs to the DXS 12's. Love them!
Plenty of power and thump in the DXS 12 and 15 subs. You have several settings to chose from on the rear of the sub.

Hi Simon, they are Yamaha DXR 10s with the DXS 12 subs. Love them!
nice video, hi costwold, what dj software and laptop are you using, if you don't mind me asking? can you recommend a laptop to buy, i'm planning to upgrade my 5 yr old laptop. Thanks

DJ KnowT Hi, I don’t use software, it’s a QT.X controller, and many hours! Upgrading controller in January to wifly with more scenes per bank and more fixtures and channels.

what brand/model are you using for your mirrorball motor?
Were these just on sound to light mode? I bought one of these units recently and can't get it to respond to any dmx commends - just plays through the presets which don't look anything like the beginning part. They just do the shapes from the end.
This was just running on Sound to light. I had hired it, so never programmed it via DMX.
Is this allowed to let the rays in the crowd? I think about buying a Laser …..

Hey Will hope you keeping busy mate. Slowly getting my MKIIs together and building my light display. Thinking of adding a mirror ball fir my marquee gigs but unsure on size ball. What size is the one you use because it seems to fill up the room nicely! Are they the 300 or 500 mm? Cheers and thanks again for your help.
Hi Buddy, with out checking ( its in the back of the trailer!) Its about 300mm. Its not 500mm. I did have a smaller one in the older videos but changed it about a year ago. Hope you're well.
Great light show mate? Do you have DMX programs written to do these effects? or are they just on auto with master Slave option?Would love to meet up for a beer one day, I use Yamaha DXS and DXR speakers on my rig and they do sound great!!
Hi Paul, thank you. Its all programmed through an Obey 10 controller. Love my Yamaha`s too. Take it easy.
I truly do enjoy your shows!! I was a wedding /nightclub dj from 1991 to 2009 ahd got a bit burned out... left the scene to open a puppet theater ...created a web series for kids ua-cam.com/channels/8vfUnBJgwuEaDWB8EZ43ng.html ... and dabbled in a few other creative adventures... recently i met the girl of my dreams and finally decided to settle down....our wedding is coming up this October and ive been obsessed with watching wedding videos... and when i came across yours i was so delighted!! For the wedding i have purchased an entire lighting rig... totem trusses... 2 intimidator 355's ... 4 chauvet wash fx... a couple scanners... couple hex pars...adj stinger.. fog machine and some tripod/trussing.... i would love to "talk shop" and pick your brain a bit.... if youd be interested...let me know the best way to message you. Until then... keep the videos coming!! hahaha

Awesome song selections! I notice you preform at this venue a lot, how long does it take you to setup and tear down?
It takes 1 hour in and 1 hour out, for this particular setup. Then I spend probably another hour just making final adjustments! (Just faffing really) But only because I have the time.
I think i speak for us all when i say we would all like to see footage of you setting up and making final adjustments (faffing) . Love behind the scenes almost as much as the gig itself!

nice gig, i been a subscriber since you introduced the Yamaha dxr10, which i owned too. i just have question, i been seeing other dj are starting to use Array portable speakers like Evox8 or Bose L1, do you consider getting this kind of speakers? thanks

Great Video, crowd looked awesome and lights were on point.. Congrats for another great wedding.I want to ask a question about UK dances or discos. I've noticed that no matter what the event school dance or wedding, young or old. Most of the music played is 60's through 80"s. Don't get me wrong My favorite genres. What does your crowd or dance floors do if UK DJ's play todays music, top 40's or hip hop? Will it clear a floor? I really found it peculiar that teens are played this music. I tried at teen dances here and I literally got a girl come up to me and tell me to play "REAL" Music. LOL.. Can you shine light on this?
Depending on the crowd, I try to play "something for everyone". Most kids grow up with their parents, so the influence of Dad`s music in the car wears off on them. So the classics do work, rather than the top 40. With ref to the top 40, not all tracks are good to actually dance too, yes they might be number 1 in the chart, but can you dance to it? Plus the music industry seems to go through good and bad stages, so sometimes the current stuff is amazing, and sometimes it makes your ears bleed. With me, I always spend a long time drilling down through my clients tastes before the big day. I'm still amazed how the taste will totally change from one wedding to the other. One other thing to remember is the influence of "Movies", for example Wilson Phillips Hold On, was in Bridesmaids, so certain crowds love it!
