It worked for me first try on my BMW ///M4 S55, Thanks Mate! I think the most misleading guides miss the part where you switch on the lights and keep the door open (press the gas pedal for atleast 5mins not 10 seconds)

Howd you get the usb module out itself. Thats the last bit im stuck at.

My 2016 started doing this at 19k miles, few small specs of metal shavings in my oil filter up until 38k miles when the wear worsened and I had actual glitter in the filter. Top half of bearing ledge off… wear in the journals and on the cam. New cam, new ledge. Noise is gone. No more metal.

I had this same problem. The issue was the exhaust camshaft carrier was not torqued enough. Replaced the carrier bolds and torqued to spec and the issue went way.

My M2C at the dealer right now for same issue - they are replacing cam carrier bolts as well no argument to fix. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video. I have the same console variant as you and couldn’t figure out how to disconnect the cigarette lighter socket. Were you able to unclip it from the main wiring harness?

Same sound when idle. Great to know mine sounds the same. Now, when I accelerate and especially when I let off the gas, it rattles a bit. That part is something I believe it's new and is annoying me. It starts to happen after driving it for, say 5 minutes after cold start.
