Funny enough your last comment about Icoms made me laugh, because that is sure not my experience. In future, email Yaesu UK to get some help, not US. They might turn round and say go back to US for your help. To be honest, I always buy a spare battery for my radios, but understand your problem, and their "couldn't give a schitt attitude". Bear up!

Buy a new battery mate easy fix. Most commercial LMR batteries only last 12months,you got 3 years,count your blessings.

I've had the exact opposite experience when it comes to customer service. Yaesu had me fixed up, stuff on the way, was easy and straightforward. ICOM told me they wouldn't support an obsolete radio which was being sold new on all the usual suspects. Sounds like you had a battery issue that probably wasn't covered under warranty, ok.

Yaesu seems like a really high price point for handhelds. Pretty low for their portable/mobile hf rigs. I cant see spending yaesu/icom/kenwood money on a HT. Ill stick with baofeng cheap stuff and put the money towards the nice stuff for mobile and base radios

Back in my day we didn't have customer service. We just fixed it.

Swapping with an aftermarket lithium battery made my ft-60 so much better. Much longer battery life...

Hello, I heard other reviews of how bad Yaesu customer service is. I’ve been considering buying the Yaesu FD5 for some time now, but not sure about overall quality, considering the hairline cracks on the cases in many of the reviews I see. For wideband coverage, I have the Icom ICR6, can’t go wrong with the Icom.

You can use the CTRL or Shift keys to highlight a range of lines before you copy and then paste them all into the other sheet. Can also do CTRL and A to select all before the copy if you want everything. Basically same shortcuts as any spreadsheet to copy rows.

If I'm not mistaken, your probably getting 1 watt on 6 meter's, at least that's what I have observed on my VX-6R... So hitting a repeater might be challenging depending on you height compared to the repeater...

I'm the 21st centaury. Why are we having to do this software stuff. Modern devices do it for you. Why all the code plug crap. The radio should be able to do it automatically.

I have this radio. I have 5 other ht’s. The vx6r is the worst radio have, even the Baofeng is better.

I have had one of these years and its my go to radio when out and about. Great band coverage and great recieve/transmit. Just a reliable solid radio.

Having good software made a big difference in using my new Yeasu FT-60r… Why? Because I am a beginner in Ham radio. After charging the HT, I programmed it & was using it in minutes. It is worth it…🎉 BTW, I didn’t have to use the disc. Download it online & fill out the form with the s/n & your email address. Done. Question though- can you use this software on a MARS modded ft-60?

I just looked and see that my FT5DR also has a crack in the same spot. Mine has never been dropped. I've barely had it outside or put it to use. I already had a sour view of Yaesu after purchasing an FT70DR radio, and hated the blasted thing. (I hated it so much that I traded it for a Chinese DMR radio) I gave Yaesu a 2nd chance by trying the FT5DR... I'm done with buying Yaesu gear. I bought an Icom ID50 and that thing is my new go-to radio.

Next time can you turn off the beeps?
