The famous Stadler FLIRT has an interesting sound to it, with the traction motors being driven asynchronously up until around 40mph where the traction converter switches to synchronous control, very similarly to the Alstom Aventra and Electrostar trains. This is my cleanest take yet on the Class 745, with little to no background passenger noise, listen with headphones for the best effect :) Rec...

sam, you should do a ap class 321 sound pack upgrade because it really needs one
Hey sam i was wondering if there would be any electrostar updates to the sound pack. For example just for contrast between 1st gen and 2nd gen electrostars the inside sounds louder on second gen towards 90 and 100mph. Whereas on older gen their relitively quiet as is the case in this sound pack. But keep up the good work either way

Hey Sam! So I downloaded the MJW compatible mod, and unfortunately the DSD button just stopped working across like everything lol, is there some way I can prevent this or something to do with this? It’s kinda annoying to do it manually
@@SEFlorida there's nothing in there that changes the functionality under the hood. To get the mjw pack working, install the DTG 390, then the AP sound pack, then the mjw pack and finally my mod. That should all work fine after that.
@ right I’ll try, it’s just that any AP product after I installed the Mjw compatible one just doesn’t have a working dsd button anymore
The only way to enjoy the 390 after Avanti butchered the seats on the real thing :(

@SamT how do you do horns? The horn is the only issue for me. The horn sound itself is all good, but it plays for too long. You tap 'B' or Spacebar once slightly and the horn sounds for a second or so straight. I know theres usually a "horn_start", "horn_loop" and "horn_end". I just want the existing sounds to be re adjusted, so that when you tap the horn, it actually plays for a split second only. This goes for the high and low tones.
Definitely hits the spot now driving the 390 with these sounds and the MJW pack compatibility. The neutral section sounds are missing however or the sounds when going through a neutral don't sound correct if this can be looked into?
The coach in which the passenger view is based doesn't have a VCB. I think AP erroneously included it in their sound pack originally.
This is the most accurate Pendolino I’ve heard as I grew up around the things. I will wait until compatibility with MJW then I will be downloading this, brilliant work!!

Unfortunately it doesn't work with any other mods, yet! I've contacted MJW to ask for details, however I won't be pestering other content creators for compatibility as that's not my place. For the time being, I'm trying my best to get it working with the MJW revamp pack. Hope this helps :)

It has a very deep gearbox sound too. Its two stage double reduction i believe. You cant really hear any switch around 40mph to sync mode , but maybe via a induction recording you can see it. But ita hard to tell what the asyc does afterwards because of the gearbox being more audiable.
The flirt has a weird vertical gearbox arrangement, iirc the motor points straight down and has a worm gear that drives the two powered axles. The sync change is around 10:53 you really have to listen for it
@SamT yeah how do you get access to see the specs on the gearbox arrangement? Being in the field of study? That being said apparently the gear box has a massive drive to bull gear ratio hence the deep noises. Also the sync noise Is it that deep lower frequency noise. It seems very deep, similar to a class 331. I can hear it better when the train hits 50mph upwards. Also it seems like youve drowned out the motor fan sound so it makes it easier to hear.
@@bb-3653 The synchronous modulation isn't very deep, it should be at ~520Hz, though this is not true all the time. ABB MP3C essentially allows the control to do whatever it wants based on motor feedback, so it could switch at any given fundamental frequency, obviously resulting in a different switching frequency too. And what motor fan noise are you referring to? The traction motor blowers are roof-mounted, not gonna hear much of that.
@mittenpulstaktung so irl theres a motor fan noise clear as day from what it sounds like tbh.its lineaer sounding too and is audiable early on , its a very deep bassey choppey fan style noise that matches the rotational speed of the motor linearly. Its not as audiable in sam Ts recordings due to the nature of said recordings but irl its audiable everytime . Maybe its just a ventilation noise. Induction recording noises ive heard seem to be really deep and also have other higher pitched frequencies going on. Again from limited videos ive seen
@@bb-3653 Traction motor blowers are roof mounted and therefore separate from the traction motors in terms of control, so can't be those. You're probably referring to noise generated by either the bearings or the transmission.

This train is fictional, you used a Class 332/Class 333 or a Class 755 sound for the train. This train doesn’t exist in real life.
