As a Gamestop employee currently I tend to take pride in my ability to help guests to the best of my abilities. HOWEVER, a lot of the issues are coming from the employees and not the actual company or stores. The three things you mentioned that really stuck out to me were Not answering phones/laziness in general, Damaged goods, and really poor website/preorder services. The first thing being the not answering phones. I have worked with people who use the phone as a priority unless absolutely unable to get to it. when I am on register, I make sure to hold in person customers to help with whatever I can (within reason) and I try to make sure I keep everything as quick and efficient as I possibly can with the guests that I help. Unfortunately I actually know people who use those kind of excuses to ignore phone calls. when it comes down to it you should be way more mad at the management of the store for not training their employees to do the basic curtesy of answering the phone. Next was poor condition of product. Gamestop is in a really shitty position with Incoming stock as we get boxes from multiple different delivery companies with varying levels of quality. we might get a Micheal Keaton batman pop from USPS in beautiful condition With care and then a Kizaru chase from fed Ex that was kicked into a soccer goal on the way into the door. with pops it sucks because box quality matters, but the most the company allows for damage to product is 10%. This should be blamed on the companies delivering the product and not on the employees. Last thing, was poor website and preorder services, THIS should 100% be blamed on gamestop as the services we "Provide" are borderline predatory of consumers and guests. it can be a shit show to cancel and get preorders out on time. HOWEVER the employees' should have used a personal cell to let you know of the pre-order arrival or at the very least, called in advance to let you know of a hard pick up date for your product. that was 100% on both the company and the employees' for not respecting you enough to give you a shout. Bonus - You got incredibly heated over the girl not giving you an accurate appraisal of the product over the phone. while she shouldn't have said that the product was in good condition, I can understand where she might be coming from as a non funko collector. gamestop has an issue of having so many things they "specialize" in now that not all the employees' can be properly trained to know a good quality box from a bad one. if she didn't know what she was talking about she should have let you know that she didn't have a grasp of what it should look like. im not trying to be a dick rider for the company but I know a lot of great people who work for the company and treat guests really well, sometimes you have to find a really good staff member that understands your hobby to help you out going forward. I did enjoy your video tho!

as someone who worked at gamestop, we would receive funkos that were a bit messed up. and ngl, I would not care. its not my issue if you wanted something and it got messed up. at my store, we called everyone, so if you didn't answer, then we left a message. If I was still working there, I don't think I would care if you wanted to collect it or just have it for whatever, as long as you buy it. if you don't, i also wouldn't care. before i worked there, I always knew they were shit. working there only confirmed that. Not surprised by some of their tomfuckery either. but its over funko lmao
