What phone mount are you using in the kawasakin please, is it quadlock and if so which type mount
Hey there - i am running the Evotech mount with the Quadlock vibration dampener
He's a great font of knowledge from real life eperience. Great interview. I've learned a lot from Dave's tyre read explanations and suspension work. I've paid that knowledge forward helping others out with suspension set ups. All the best for the future Mr Moss and thankyou.
I 1000% agree. Dave has spent thousands of days and countless hours on the track in the pits at racetracks and dealerships. He is literally a walking textbook, and I am sure he would be happy to hear your endorsement!
Many thanks for this interview and to Simon for Motovudu. I finally got my motorcycle license and started riding about a year ago at the age of 61. I have wanted to race all my life and got an RS 660 with the intention of riding on track. I spent the winter training on roads in the cold and wet of Sweden, pretty much entirely based on Simon's teachings. I found an area with no cars where they had made a loop in preparation for a new building and it became my little race track. After my first track day in the spring, the instructor asked me if I had previous experience in motorsport. After my last track day this fall, they asked me if I was interested in becoming an instructor. I can't thank Simon enough for sharing his deep and practical knowledge which helped me progress very quickly.
@@samanthagregoryurich4167 hey Samantha. Great story! You clearly have a learners mindset and that’s key. I have two RS660s and they are both track only. You can learn so much off the bike too, as you clearly have! I’ll pass your comment onto the man Simon himself!
Looking forward to riding with you again next year!
Likewise Laura!
Wait what?!?!?! When did you get the duc?? How did I not know that was you 🤷♂️🤦♂️. Great progress this year, already excited to see you out there next year 😀
hey Justin! I’ll never forget the advice you gave me when i first turned up to the track and drove me up to turn 3 and 4 in your truck. Thx u! And yes, i was on my big boy bike, but still prefer my lil RS660 🤪
Great end of season video Angus! I appreciate that you are open and willing to accept feedback and coaching. It was great spending some time with you on track and hopefully I could provide some valuable coaching to help you continue your journey to get faster safely!
Great to hang with you Mate.
Excellent, love ya style nearly as much as I love the the AT. I'm anticipating pulling the trigger within 12 to 18 months. Maybe by then (2026) the 10 year anniversary supercharged version will be hitting the streets. Strongly rumoured by the smart money. Looking forward to your further reviews on this incredible machine. Cheers from Sydney NSW👍
Thx Mate! Ah yeah, there is always a future version around the corner to lure us in!
Or maybe you're not a V2 (liter) guy? they're pretty snappy..
Well, thankfully since recording this i’ve formed a strong relationship with my V2! I’ll be posting a video soon. Thx for the comment..

Bring MotoVudu back into production! I can’t find it anywhere
Hei, hope you read this comment! :) I got my windshield from Puig today but it didn’t come withany gummy-like inserts in the holes to mount it and i am having troubles fitting it. Did you reuse the gums from the OEM?
hey there - yes i reused the OEM orings. You can buy them from Aprilia also
@@KiwiMoto72 thank you!
Wow, thanks for your video. Me too Big, Big fan of Simon. We look forward to seeing you together in the USA. Plus I'm going to suscripción the site. I'm Mark and living in Navarra Spain. ❤
thank you for the feedback! i really enjoy the opportunity’s i have had to interview amazing, diverse people in our sport!

@@douglasgrosch228 The Concours really is a classic. I wish Kawasaki would keep investing in the larger sport tourer category
Dave talks a lot of rubbish
i can give you a list of names that stretches to moon, who would tell you otherwise, but you are entitled to your opinion.
@@KiwiMoto72 there’s some excellent videos on UA-cam calling him out, he’s a snake oil salesman. Just a very successful one. Christ, in some videos he can’t even get the name of certain components correct.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂9¡Z,A
You forgot our best ever motorcycle speedway champion Ivan Mauger.
Thank you for the reminder!
Love these interviews!
Nice work. A bit more about the bike, geography, geology etc. and I think you should take a can-am thingy for a ride. I've heard (via 44 teeth) that they're a lot of fun. They convinced me that it may be worth looking at (eventually). Take one on the same route and see what you think. When ever I was trying out a bike, I always had the same loop to check it out. If I ever get up there again, you can rest assures that I'll not be giving any hand signals (except maybe mana wave).
lol- thx Dringo. I did a proper review on this bike a few weeks ago, so this one was less planned. Still to be convinced about Trikes! You need to come and visit me sometime!
I own a 950 SP here in NZ. After owning a Husky 701 I'm finding the Duc is a sports bike on stilts. Not really a Motard but ridden quickly it's super rewarding. Love your work. Keep it up.😀😀
Oh for sure. The new Hyper 690 is a better comparision to the Husky i think. I'm glad you like the content - thx!
Great video with commentary and beautiful scenery. Subscribed. It is on my bucket list is to come ride the PNW. I have a 20' 1000sx that I purchased used back in March of 22' with 6k miles on the clock. Just rolled over 32k miles after weekend adventure of 1100 miles. I really enjoy the bike as it is comfortable for me at 61 yoa and has enough poke to make ya giggle when you wick the throttle. I have a Suzuki SV 650 track bike that is a riot. Not a 600 supersport or a liter bike but I'm just chasing lap times. I'm slow. I'm going to try and make a trip out to West to MT, WY, UT, ID, SD in June of 25'. I like the PNW content so ride and post when you can. Ride safe Sir.
@@DB-so8zc thx for the feedback and the comment! I’m so glad that you love yours. SVs are also great track bikes! I prefer small displacement on the track too. See you in 2025 at our local track (the Ridge) maybe!
Just bought a 2024 Ninja 1000SX
Great choice! congrats!
Gsxs was my choice. Love it. Dreamy.
congrats. It’s an awesome Moto. You can’t go wrong with either.
Crafar spinning up the 500 in Donnington around 98 was something to behold. He loved those Dunlops.
Great interview. Dave is my hero.

I've owned 54 bikes over my last 50+ years of riding, my 23 N1K is my favorite bike of all time. The OEM touring windscreen is way better than the puig in my mind and a definite improvement over stock as well. I've lightened the bike by close to 10-12 lbs with a sergeant seat and removing unnecessary crap. Lost the ugly bazooka silencer as well with a nice carbon slip on. You chose wisely in my book for sure. Less vibration in the N1K is nice too. Mine now has 10,000 miles on it and I'm loving it! Just back from a 2000 mile Colorado and Utah trip last week. The OEM saddlebags were great too, haven't had that luxury since my 2001 goldwing and 2008 FJR, but got tired of overweight bikes. Your review is spot on and you hit all the reasons I like this bike. The Michelin Road 5's are a great add as well. The second favorite is my Z900RS cafe with an Akrapovic header and stock silencer with an Ivan's magical flash and michelin road 5's, which I still own. It now weighs in at 445lbs wet. But my ninja is still the fave. Reminds me of my 97 ZX11 that I put 78,000 miles on over many years of ownership. The N1K is just so much more comfortable for a day in the saddle!
thank you for detailed commentary! Some great suggestions there too. I’m definitely going get a different exhaust soon, and a seat is definitely on the list too! Good to know you are Sargent fan!
WOW, another cool interview with Simon. Does he ever !!! have a rehearsed answer for all the questions that come his way. Like some do. Keep up the great work Simon.

Dave is an amazing person and an amazing resource!! He helped me immensely and I am truly grateful!
Couldn't agree more!
a wonderful side benefit to everyone donating STUFF to the dog program, is that reducing the stuff in your life is so very freeing of the mind and soul .
Thank you for the opportunity to chat with you and share time together. I do not get to do this very often at all - and it was a really enjoyable experience thatI am very grateful for. I hope it inspires anyone watching this video to ask questions, use the free online resources you provide and start their own personal journey into creating their motorcycle to meet their needs so they are p[ain free, not exhausted and in a crisis, have the bike perform as best it can.
I did very well in my first season of racing in 1977, running Laverda 750 SFC's. I thought I had to be provincial champ, then national champ, the maybe off to the US or better Europe. what I didn't realize is that life isn't long enough for this orderly process, and that it is best to jump in at the deep end and learn FAST.
Will next year be the last year for track records?
Curious as to what the man himself has to say
I remember Dave from a track day I did in CA ... I think it was Sears Point. I was new to track days, and to be honest have only done enough to dip my toes in (I don't have the cash flow, for one thing). This discussion was really interesting, though. I was really impressed by his ability to analyze the tire wear (on a slick, no less) to determine tire pressure and suspension settings. His commentary about the relationship to psychology was also fascinating ... I didn't know anyone was thinking of that relationship. Lastly, I really appreciate his generosity here, sharing his decades of knowledge in the interview, and apparently online with tutorials and such. Fun discussion, great guy! ✌
Absolutely loved this. Simon is such a class gentleman.
Such a Kiwi
I have been a MotoGP nerd since 1994 and Simon is in my opinion the best journalist/expert that exists. No one else has the same overall knowledge of the riders and the bikes in my opinion. I'm looking forward the new rules which will ban the ride hight device. I was at Assen, it was more spectacular to watch the Moto2 guys fighting the machine when exiting the last corner heading to the straight than it was watching the same corner with the MotoGP bikes. The MotoGP are obviously faster, but undramatic.
I have had a passion for watching 500cc then MotoGP since the first races I went to in the 80s and With Simon on board in. MotoGP I have learned a lot more than a lot of previous years, yes he was shakey at first but now brings a lot extra into the sport for the viewer, so relax Simon I,m sure that secure job will be there for you for many yrs to come. Also how good do we have it now with MotoGP it gets better and better each year, and I find myself looking forward to next season at the end of each season more and more. Next year to see how MM93 goes on the gp25 alongside Pecco , and also how Martin fairs on the Aprilia, thanks for inviting Simon on enjoyed that heaps.
Simon is a top bloke. Would be great to see him in the commentary box, like Sheene back in the day.
Simon's way of sharing his deep knowledge of the sport is unique. We're all lucky to have him explaining both human and technical sides of MotoGP. Love his interviews, tech talks and all round demeanor...
I noticed Simon didn't really give his opinion on the racing schools when you mentioned them is there a reason for it ? Specifically YRCS you brought them up a few times but he didn't get into it. Regardless grea interview always enjoy hearing Simon talk 💯
Top man
Awesome interview, Simon never fails to impress with his knowledge and humility. The MotoGP world is enriched with his participation. and extremely fortunate to have him.
Amazing interview, Simon Crafar is an absolute 5⭐️ legend, surely he's got more stories for a second interview? ❤ 👏🍻
Will add it to the list!
Simon - He's a gateway drug!! to enthusiasm, love for learning and life in general - hell I even love dogs now
Thanks for this interview,Camped and rode dirt bikes with Simon and his mates in the 90’s early on his career and was a down to earth bloke, didn’t know much about him then but knew straight up he was one of us. Great to see him as he is.🇦🇺👍
Simon Crafer. Top man
This was annoyingly edited. Just show the full interview.
This is not my day job. I'm not a professional editor. I do this stuff for fun, and the interview is largley uncut. Thx for the feedback.
@@KiwiMoto72 Fair enough. I'm just saying I would love to have heard the full interview. That's all.
