Don’t remember a crowd of WRNS meeting me at Reading station! I came from a place in Wales where there was one bus a week and a small train station. I couldn’t find my way out of Reading station, I think we had to go through the bus station. My first greeting was a fuming Leading Wren saying “you’re late, you’re not in civvy street now you know”. Scared me to death but I carried on to Dauntless & persisted & got to be a Petty Officer Radio Supervisor in the end.

....the pure genius of Norman Wisdom - but despite a 'Knighthood' ...the awarding of which has become less of an honour these days due to them being handed out to more unworthy and almost devoid of any discernible talent 'comedy' and 'showbiz' luvvies of modern times ....I'd like to know WHY the megastars all have to die before there are television tributes in their honour ?
