This was great although most of the points of interest mentioned are actually in Kensington Gardens. I love the Italian Gardens one of my favourite places in all of London ❤
You give a mention to No 1 London. Not many do. Hurrah and huzzah. A corking episode.
I like the cool stuff!
Lovely at sunrise for a run, far quieter in there!! Great video
Thank you! I appreciate the view and comment 👍🏼
Used to live in Gloucester Place on the North Side of Hyde Park, some wonderful days and evenings spent there. Great video. (Oh and it's Serpentine - as in time, not Serpenteen). Great persepective, love your vids as it gives ne a new appreciation of London.
Another American mispronunciation, lol. Thanks for watching!
@@StarstruckByLondon Every time I go to the States, they just look dumbfounded at me, they have no idea what I'm even saying, so you're doing remarkably well.
Another great video! We will be back to London in October.
Thank you! Hope you discovered new places to go
Arguably the greatest city in the world, but the 'affordable housing' box definitely remains unticked. I used to live in the centre of Tokyo on my modest salary - in London? Not a chance!
I’ve lived in Boston and Hong Kong. London is discount! 😂😂
A couple of interesting spots to video came to mind recently. Both in that neck of the woods. Burlington Arcade and, Gray's Antique market. Have a wander and a think.
Looking forward to watching this episode. Hanover Square was my place of work for years and, the west end is the best part of London. Or, at least, one of the many great parts.
No mention of Hanover Square, mate. Just Grosvener and Berkeley
@@StarstruckByLondon You missed the best bit!
most interesting "Why Mayfair Ticks Every London Box" video presentation like seeing the luxury hotels @6:30 🤳🤳🤳🤳 LIKE
Thank you! That was the majority of the walking. Mayfair is quite spread out 😅
Very interesting. Thanks for upload.
Glad you enjoyed it, friend.
👍 new SUB from Arizona, USA
Thank you! Hope you enjoy the vids. The Mayfair video coming out Tuesday will be great!
Sure, if you want to score some smack.
😂😂😂
Met Rat Scabies (of The Damned) at the 100 club, we were seeing The Members amongst others early 201Xs.
That’s a great celebrity sighting in a perfect place!
Also that's The National Gallery, not the National Portrait Gallery, that lies a fe hundred metres up Charring Cross oad (Sorry for being a pedant).
Not Pall Mall leading up from Buckingham Palace, just The Mall. Other than that, I pretty much agree with you. Great vid and well done.
American knowledge of London institutions. Lol.
Post Office Tower please, not BT!
Piccadilly Circus - eyesore is being generous! Ghastly spot. The Shard - I'm with the critics. Buck House - not high on my list. But, no doubt for tourists. St James' so much better. Try Centre court. Lords. The Monument on Fish St. Greenwich and the tunnel. Broadcasting House. No 1 London, Shepherd's Market. The list's so, so long, which is great for videos!
Looks like a part 2 is needed!
HA Rrods probably worth walking past too.
@@StarstruckByLondon Grew up near town and used to be in all the time. Give me a few days and I'll send a note of less obvious but great spots. Loved the format; fair reviews!
Jenner such an oxygen theif
Just found your channel, and had to like, subscribe and comment! You deserve more follows, and hopefully by my doing all three things you will get some more plays! I'm planning my London trip and had all of the spots minus Decca location marked on my map, so thanks for mentioning that one and putting up the map of the sites! Off to watch the rest of your previous videos!
I really appreciate this note. I’ve been at it for a little over 3 months. I’m delighted to hear feedback like yours. Enjoy!
Some additions and criticisms for the algo: 5. The Changing of the Guard is nice and free, just don't line up in front of the gates to barely see anything of a rather boring ceremony. There's a whole route that you can stand or even walk along, depending on the season, and get a good view of the guards marching past, take a picture, whatever floats your boat. 4. Never been on this because it's obviously stupid. "A bicycle wheel without the tire" as Johnny Rotten said. Also holy crap, you're right about the area around it. What a dump. Decent views of the river though, and you don't see the ferris wheel! I guess the Eye could be OK if you have something like the London Pass that includes it (I see the price of a 5-day London Pass has DOUBLED over the last year, which is insane, so buyer beware!). But there are other (free) views to be had. The Shard costs money too by the way, but is also often included in tourist passes like that. 3. Never been here because I don't care for the waxworks, and in any case it's a well recognised tourist thing. It's been a tourist attraction since the 19th century, in that sense it's "historical". It's older than Tower Bridge! I guess if you have a burning desire to see some waxworks of celebrities then it could be fun, but don't let anyone tell you it's a must-see. This also seems like one of those places that have doubled their prices within a decade. I could easily spend 2 weeks in London and still not be tempted by this one. P.S. The location seems like the least problem here since it's close to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, Regent's Park, and other attractions people might be interested in. Not really a big deal that it's not in walking distance. London doesn't really have one walkable "centre". A lot of interesting sights and activities are in districts best visited by tube. Almost all tube lines stop at Baker St. Or take the bus, which is cheaper and you can still see something. 4. Don't care about Oxford Street since I don't go on holidays for shopping. Looks like any other high street to me, just bigger and with more crappy candy shops. 5. Meh, Wetherspoons is cheap and "authentic" in that lots of Brits will get a cheap pint there. What is an "authentic" pub in London? Seems pretty arbitrary to me. A lot of them are faux-thentic like 'Spoons, just more expensive. A lot of decent and affordable pubs are owned by other chains (Samuel Smith's etc.). It's usually either foreigners or posh Brits who will tell you to avoid Wetherspoons like the plague (and then recommend some gastro-pub lol). I wouldn't go out of my way to drink in one but neither would I avoid a decent boozer just because it happened to be a part of their chain. Bonus: yeah Leicester Square is not much to look at. I also don't care for theatre so not much to do there except take the picture to prove you've been there. M&M's World there deserves a mention of its own for absolutely god-awful "attractions".
This made me laugh. Well done!
Nice one
I agree because you have Oxford street, reget Street, Russell square, Shaftesbury avenue, Charing cross road that you can go from or into walking 5 minutes from Soho ,use to love the trocedero arcade and cinema . now demolished
Nice. Thanks for watching. I’ll see you in Soho!
Came here thinking I'd learn more about the London Stone, but stayed for an interesting history of music! :)
Ha! Thanks for sticking with it ☺️
I thought it was anxietycouple Scott girlfriend
Cracking video. My thanks.
Thank you!
Is it my feed Mr S by L or, are there sections where the audio goes silent?
It must be your feed. I’ve watched the video on my phone. I’ll take a look on AppleTV
@@StarstruckByLondon Must be me. Our broadband recently is woeful.
Great neighbourhood. Thanks for sharing 😊
And thank you for watching.
Lucan here again. Thanks for the nod to this video. Really enjoy your videos. No doubt you enjoy making them too. There are always those who knock. But, who cares? Life's too short and well worth enjoying.
Hi. Nice video but are you stealing Joolz Guides look with the bowler hat? 😂 Anything that gets popular is overcrowded overpriced and overhyped. When I first started working in that area in 2001 Borough Market was practically deserted and only open to the public from Thursday to Sunday. As a Londoner born and raised I can sometimes get frustrated trying to go about my daily business while battling through hoards of tourists but I understand that it’s a source of pride that so many people come to see my city and that it’s a financial benefit for all the money tourists bring in. Also it would be hypocritical of me not to realise I’m doing the same when I travel somewhere outside London. However I do object to people disrespecting the locals and the area in their wish to get a selfie. They need to remember that they are not in a theme park but in a living city where people need to get on with their everyday lives. For instance have you seen how disrespectful some tourists are around the horse guards on guard duty, particularly during the hours when they are on horseback. They behave as though the soldiers are there for them to take pictures with and get aggressive when the guards try to stop them coming into restricted military areas or grab at the horses’ tack because it won’t keep its head turned for their selfie. They are full time professional soldiers who happened to also take a turn doing ceremonial duties. If it gets any worse it’s going to end up like the foot guards who now guard behind the railings at Buckingham Palace because they couldn’t do their military service properly with the public making a nuisance of themselves. 😊
Thanks for the comments. Jools and I both wear bowlers, but our channels are different. His videos are 3 times longer and he is more of a tour guide, where I’m an expat who’s taken by the things I’m discovering. Cheers. Thanks for watching.
Lived and worked in town for years. Fortunately not for a while now. Would agree with your choices. London's an amazing city. Just walk a street or two from the famous spot and you're immersed in real city life.
Did you catch your mention in the Starstruck Answers Your Video Comments vid, @Lucan-ve6zc?
@@StarstruckByLondon Aaagh. Nope! I'll have to watch it again! Now tracking it down.
yes it is and a longer trip is even more worth it!
Sorry to disappoint you. I was there as a visitor and found it to be very expensive, congested, and overhyped. There are many other London markets that offer good value for money. Cannot recommend Borough market to sane people--only for suckers
I’m sorry you had a bad experience there. I’ve lived here for 18 months, and I still find Borough Market very enjoyable. Crowds aside.
As a Londoner I agree with everything except the Wetherspoons comments. Yes, the food isn't great but it's good value. The beer is excellent value. The only problem with them is that they're too popular.
Wetherspoons is quite polarising. I will always lie on the no side just because us expats love the “real” pubs.
wiz jist aboot tae say wee Darcy, tutu gr8 minds think alike
OH GOD PLEASE! Deliver me from the cell phones everywhere.
Inescapable on Oxford, for sure 😖
I'm a Londoner and I hate to say it but I agree with this guy. Only other thing I'd mention is avoid Chinatown. The food is crap and its over priced. Get a local walking guide and discover London the way it should be done ..... By accident. London is a maze of hidden treasures you will not find on a sightseeing bus.
@dylvasey - I don’t know why you “hate to say it” 😂😂. Might be because of my Chinatown video 🤭
Sorry sir, are you seriously telling me that Jinmy Page bought a castle-house by Richard Harris, the man who was Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter movies? THIS CAN'T BE TRUE!
It is indeed true! I always take friends by there hoping to catch him taking out his rubbish bins, lol.
Keep up the good work Dave!
Send dogs ?
Did you watch The Omen? Those hell hounds were vicious!
Fourteen and a half quid for a breakfast ?, any real Londoner would tell you to poke it up your jacksy
They're not called bangs in the UK :)
Really? You could have made my comments video, lol. So what are they called?
I met Michael Owen at a restaurant called opera grill
Nice. If you see me around town, stop me and I’ll make a video.
It’s a true pity that the Thomas a Becket has been knocked down (old Kent road) that was a great pub complete with boxing ring upstairs I believe Henry cooper used to train there amongst other of our wonderful boxers.
Nice memory. Thanks for sharing.
Love the titfer (hat) you are a cool guy, enjoying your video of all these pubs.
I appreciate that, mate.
Great video. Lots of info crammed into 7 minutes. Brilliant 🤩
Thank you! Still trying to discover the optimal vid length. Appreciate the feedback.
Same, I’ve sent you a message on IG.
Funny thing is I am from liverpool lived there all my life but I don't feel comfortable in England
Well you sure live in an interesting place
Kind of agressive lmao maybe not get in people's faces 😅
It’s pre arranged to get permission. This guy was a bit jumpy, lol.
@@StarstruckByLondon ahhh gotcha, makes more sense then haha sorry for the bad comment.
Liverpool is well worth a visit!!
Absolutely!
"The appallingly loud busker" FFS, lad, WTF did you go there in the first place? There are two things us Scouse hold dear: our Musos and our footy teams. Things we don't appreciate is some melt walking our streets wearing a fkn bowler and mouthing off about our street musos. Get TF!
Lol. I hope that moment in the video wasn’t your takeaway. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Liverpool.
Elizabeth Barrett married Robert Browning, not Charles Browning, proper research required in future.
