Alex's Wandering Chronicles
Приєднався 25 лис 2015
I make videos about different places I find interesting. I try to upload once a week, with a new place every week.
The Beast, Kings Island, Ohio
The Beast is an in-house designed rollercoaster located at Kings Island, in Mason Ohio. It originally opened in 1979
The Beast is located in the Rivertown section of the park, near the entrance for White Water Canyon. Kings Island is located about 25 minutes north of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The link for the park can be found here: www.visitkingsisland.com/rides-experiences/the-beast
The Beast is a very unique roller coaster. Being designed in-house, with the terrain to its advantage, it doesn’t feel like a normal roller coaster, despite looking like one. Waiting for a night ride is worth it, and would highly recommend it.
All on-ride footage of The Beast belongs to Kings Island.
Thanks to Aidan for driving and filming me for this video. Thanks to Taylor for loaning their footage of The Beast filmed during a behind the scenes event. You can check their channel here: www.youtube.com/@flightoftaylor
Personal Thoughts:
This video was filmed on closing day 2024. I decided to make this video because I figured it would be a cool one to make, and also help keep the catalog fresh, after all, I try to do a coaster video every few weeks. I spent time with Aidan and Audrey at KI, but also spent a few hours with Taylor, who I hadn’t seen since Waldameer. I waited to film the video until later to try and get better lighting, I think it paid off.
This weekend is probably the best weekend I have had for coasters since my May Hershey and Dorney Park trip with Ryan. Going to Cedar Point and Kings Island’s closing days was really fun. I won’t be too long without thrill rides, I have a treat up my sleeve for some cool videos coming soon.
Thanks again to Aidan, Taylor, and Audrey, for being cool friends, and for helping make these videos. Without you, I do not know where these videos would be.

Live in Columbus about 90 minutes away. We had a middle school field trip there in 1982 and 1983, both 7th and 8th grade. 55 now and just rode it couple months ago with my 26 year old son. Damn I'm old ! Lol. Rode the original Bat too.

Saw BB play in a small town nightclub called Chrissy’s early 80’s. We were underaged but worked at the hotel doing banquets in the basement. We snuck in the connecting back door and watched from the back. Nyet Nyet Soviet - ❤ Got his record at the show , so amazing.
I literally searched up “how much music have we lost” and yours is the only relevant video that came up. With all these UA-cam historians and deep dives and all that jazz, you’d think there’d be more people wanting to know more about this topic. How much have we lost simply because it will never be found again? What about the music from before recording technology was made? Left to rot on old note sheets, never to be heard again? I’m someone who’s been getting into more music and music mixing and it just made me wonder how much we’ve lost simply because so much hasn’t been able to keep up with the times. Anything not uploaded online has comparatively faded into obscurity. Just another reason to buy more vinyls I guess 😅 I guess this is getting kind of lengthy and it’s probably weird seeing a guy write out an essay in your there year old comment section. Well, have a good day and keep looking for old music I guess, that’s what I’ll be doing at least. Who knows, maybe someone else will dig up this video, give it another day life or something
Thanks for your comment. I honestly forgot I had made this video so many years ago. It was something I made because I was sitting on my computer thinking about the subject, and honestly it’s a really cool thing that someone out there found it because well I kind of forgot I made this video. I have proven to myself that things will be forgotten to time, and well it just takes the right person to find it. Will admit that I do find it really cool that you found this. If you’re interested you should check out my more recent content, it’s a bit better.
hell yea brother
The way I was there for part of this but am not 100% sure what was recorded
I don't know much about trains other than i love to see them! Mostly the old ones
I am going to miss this ride
Camera man >>>
Going to miss this ride, but excited to see what comes next
better than kings dominion
Ernest Warther!! love it
Wow I never thought there was video of him. Thanks for posting. Absolutely great!
Fun ride, I like it but unless I get to the park 30 mins early and immediately line up for it, I pass on most visits. So super unique and the posterchild for Knoebels philosophy on new ride additions.
Did you guys ride the dark ride that they have there???
Did you guys see the Vortex roller coaster? That was a good ride at Kings Island at one time…..
Thanks for sending me the song.

As a kid, i was lucky enough to be in the studio to see BB and band record Girls of the Future. The bassist was my bff’s older brother, Howard Ayee. A fantastic player.
I’m jealous. Would you know anything of a song called “Sweet, Sweet pain?” I’ve heard that BB had a song called that but I can’t find anything on it
Saw Gabor play many times. This is one of his best bands, with Ken Basman on guitar (we were in a couple of bands together) and I'm pretty sure that's Mike Sloski on drums. Also Rob Gusevs on keys. The bass player is Howard Ayee, who went on to play with Rough Trade.
Lucky you!
Would you know anything of a song he allegedly made called “Sweet, Sweet pain?”
@@alexcutionman4569 I'm not sure. Gabor had quite a few songs, but I don't remember all of them. Maybe that one was one of his slower tunes. He released 2 albums. The first one, which featured Metropolitan Life, was well received and garnered a couple of hits, including Metropolitan Life and Laser Love. The album also featured a very cool version of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi. The second album didn't do so well, and Gabor had a falling out with his record company. Maybe the song you're looking for is on that album? He also made a 3rd album, produced by Todd Rundgren, but it was never released. It can be found on UA-cam tho. You can search under "BB Gabor - The Todd Rundgren Tapes" or "BB Gabor - The Todd Rundgren Sessions". Let me know if you have other Gabor-related questions.
@@alexcutionman4569 I'm not sure. Gabor had lots of tunes, but I don't recall hearing that one.
