Pigeons and seagulls eating saffron rice out of a plastic container
These birds were having their breakfast and enjoying their food right next to the big Public Purse on Bourke Street in Melbourne. There wasn't that much of a meal left over but there was still enough available for them to eat.

This bird caught and ate a nice flying insect near a lake at a park. It was a good snack that he was so lucky to catch and eat. He brought his food on the lawn so that he could break it up into bite sized pieces. He really seemed to enjoy eating it.

This hungry bird was lucky enough to get a quick snack to eat for breakfast and then she quickly disappeared somewhere near a lake. I tried to find her again but she was nowhere to be seen in the area. It was a nice brief encounter at a park.

There were a couple of sleepy birds near the Yarra River snoozing in the sun on a nice sunny day. They slept for a while but then shortly afterwards, they woke up from their sleep. They look rather cute with their heads tucked in those feathers.

There were quite a few birds being daredevils and risking their lives for food. It was a dangerous place for them to be in with cars driving past them but they didn't really care much about that. They just wanted to get something to eat and luckily, they got away unharmed.

These birds were having some fast food for breakfast and nibbling on a bit of meat off the bone. There wasn't much left over so they were quite lucky to get something to eat. But they got the opportunity to enjoy a meaty snack on the city streets.

The birds had so much food available to them and they had more than enough to eat. Someone was kind enough to leave all of this behind so they had quite a feast. It was good to see them have a nice filling meal so they didn't go hungry.

These birds were lucky to get a small amount of food on the busy city streets outside of a restaurant. There was a mixture of lettuce and cheese. The silver gulls chose not to eat the salad because they had no interest in having the healthy stuff.

There were quite a few of these large parrots perched up high on the tree branches and they were a long way from where I was. The birds stayed in the area for a little while but they soon left and disappeared.

There was this hungry bird on the table having something to eat. Someone kindly offered her some food but she didn't have all of it and then flew away somewhere else. After a short while, she quickly went and disappeared.

There were quite a few birds gathered here to get a quick snack on a fake lawn near some trees. Someone was kind enough to offer them a bit of food and there were a few Indian mynas that joined in as well. This was at Federation Square in Melbourne.

There were a few hungry birds looking for food here and there and one of them was lucky enough to get a piece of bread to eat. All the others didn't find very much for breakfast. After a while, they left the area for a better place to search for snacks.

There were so many birds having a feast on the green grass. Someone was kind enough to leave food out for them to eat. They just kept on going until there wasn't much left and they had this nice meal all to themselves to enjoy.

Someone tossed away some fruit and a lot of it went to waste and mostly uneaten. There was one bird that quickly ate a bit of a healthy breakfast but it didn't eat very much of it and flew away and disappeared.

These hungry birds were having something for breakfast but I had no idea what it was they were eating off the ground. They weren't the only ones here, there was also a seagull and a dusky moorhen that made an appearance. But they had no interest in the food and didn't eat.

Yes, that's true but the pigeons in the city eat whatever they can find even if it's not the best choice for them. It's how they survive here.
