that looks like three trunks of a tree, which will grow into each other under the right circumstances. maybe this one was coppiced many many many years ago and regrew as several trunks.

Если я правильно понял дерево попилили на одинаковые плиты , отшлифовали , покрыли лаком чтоб и структура видна была и оно как бы законсервировано от внешней среды , дальше мастера краснодеревщики могут купить нужную им плиту .
