great information for distinguishing libs from many of the look-alikes. I have seen pretty much all the same mushrooms in my area. One thing I would add as a final determinater is if you are unsure about a particular mushroom to split the gills, a liberty cap will almost always have a sticky skien connecting them together. It looks like a bit of mucus that becomes visible when you split the cap. This will be visible unless the cap is completely dessicated. Also I wouldn't recommend eating them fresh, they are typically full of bugs, if you are going to consume them then boil them for a good 10-15 minutes and drink the "tea", or dry them completely by laying them out on a newspaper or something. If you do dry them you will see what I am talking about because all the little critters will come out onto the drying surface.

I am crying right here in India Kerala. There are no magic mushroom youtubers here that can help you identify any species available here, don't even know if it grows here, and I am just a beginner

Hi, just to let people know about preparation. I used to just boil with a small amount of lemon juice and leave for 20mins before consuming but found out by shear luck that leaving the same solution for 5 hours before taking was a far superior experience. I do have some chemistry experience and have wondered why this would be. It may be that hydrolysis of psilocybin is catalysed by the lemon juice to increase the concentration, I don't know, but all I know is that it's a very different experience and in my opinion the only way i will ever take it. Please also chop up in a blender, the smaller the pieces the better the extraction. Hope it helps

They spray libs with chemicals where I am in Scotland, to kill them off. We used to pick them in the 90s before the council started spraying them. Now it’s too dodgy to pick them here. Just got myself some Tidal wave spores yesterday.

My friends as kids about 16 years old did this. They got about 2kg liberty caps. From the local moor. They put them in a big sock or 2 I'm not sure. They were fresh rammed them in so the wet would add weight but still. They boiled up in a big pan and consumed the lot. I think this was between 4 of them so about half a kilo each. They told me some of what happened. But some refuse to talk about it. Let's just say the demons had fun with them for many hours. Nobody had any fun. They were just pleased to come out if it alive. So my message is don't do drugs. But if you do don't be a egocentric crew wanting to do more than others. You will definitely regret this. They would never go near a mushroom again after this experience. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 My experience is small but enough to say this. You don't really know what you are doing this is messing with all sorts of stuff we don't understand. Nothing is guaranteed and to be honest quite dangerous for you and people around you when tripping. I'm surprised we don't get films with the devastating tragedy that can come from the lack of care or control of your mind and subsequent actions that can come from the inability to see reality as it is. If you must mess with this stuff don't do it if your with people you don't like it within a situation that can easily turn bad. Your mind is not your own. This is something I would fear doing again. I have not done anything like this since I was 17 so I'm safe. That's over 20 years ago. Stay safe.

Government is way overstepping itself as it's not their business what people put in their body, especially if it's nature grown. They got too much opinion of themselves, nobody gave them these powers.

Me and a few friends picked these back in 2001 when i was 13 and we got so out our brains on these it was insane. I've taken lots of drugs over the years , ive tripped on mushrooms in Amsterdam, ive been in Ket holes, Mandy, Bubbles, Acid and nothing was ever as intense as Scottish liberty caps i picked on my local golf course when i was a kid.

I think this video is good because it can at least to some degree familiarise people with the liberty cap mushroom. Once you know the mushrooms well enough, you will always know what is a liberty cap and what isn't. And if you ever question if a mushroom is a liberty cap, then it is not a liberty cap.

None of those lookalikes look like liberty caps

Imagine how many people have been arrested for picking look alikes. The police surely wouldnt be able to identify. So based off that unless if the police officer has a degree in mycology then one could assume they might be arresting someone for legal mushrooms.

Many moons ago I would spend hours on my hands and knees in Oregon rooting around for these. They are extremely potent compared to other varieties like cubensus, etc. Takes a lot of time to accumulate a stash but well worth it.

Picked some years ago you can't beet mother nature

There was a field across from our high-school loaded with psylicibe mushrooms. We'd go over at lunch and pick. Funny how we never seemed to make it back to class ... trouble was no one but a few of us left any to drop spores for a new batch. Greedy people.

Always be careful with dried mushrooms, dry will always weigh less than wet so 2g can be an extremely different experience between the two
