ITS 2024 Festival Highlights
Memories of music, serenity and inspiration - taken from the 36th annual chamber music festival Incontri in Terra di Siena in Tuscany, Italy.
July 19 - July 27, 2024.
Reflecting on the emotional yet uplifting atmosphere of the Incontri Festival this past July serves as a true testament to the immense contribution and dedication of our beloved founder, Antonio Lysy.
Family, friends and colleagues from all over the world travelled to the Val d’Orcia for the Memorial Concert on July 23 to pay tribute to Antonio. This was a truly special and poignant evening.
The exceptional caliber of musicians (both old friends and new) combined with the richness of programming under Alessio Bax’s expert guidance, culminated in an outstanding series of concerts and was a profound reminder of the joyful, soulful and restorative power of music.
Incontri was also thrilled to welcome Irish novelist Joseph O’Connor as our third Parlando author-in-residence. His presence, especially the event at Monteverdi Tuscany where he engaged in conversation with Canadian journalist Eleanor Wachtel, enriched the festival with a thought-provoking literary dimension.
Incontri in Terra di Siena is a not-for-profit cultural association, based at Villa La Foce in Tuscany, Italy. This unique festival combines music and art through concerts, talks, exhibitions and cultural events to be held in the many beautiful neighbouring towns of the Val d’Orcia such as Pienza, Montefollonico, Città della Pieve, Sarteano and Castiglioncello del Trinoro.
