My name is Jolianne,
I'm French Canadian from Ontario! I've moved to British Columbia Canada 10 plus years ago. To find affordable ways to live in BC, I've had to get creative. I own a camper van called BigRed and I've been doing van life on and off for the past 7 years.
Now that rents are at an all time high, I found another avenue to live life more affordably. I found boat life! I bout a 40 foot boat that I'm renovating into my home. I will share with you this journey as well as my life of adventures with my two dogs (Pomeranians) named TiLoup and Cedar.
I hope you enjoy and you are inspired to go on your own life journey!

Bathtubs and green foam - BOAT LIFE - VANLIFE - BOAT RESTORATION - TINYLIVING
I've been thinking about what kind of shower I'd like to have on the boat. I thought that the galvanized stock tanks were a good idea. I went to check some out at a landscaping store near by. It was a success. I'm excited about my new tub! I will paint it and refinish it. Also, the spray foam people came and did part of the spray foam. Now we can put the floor down and really start building!

I went on a little adventure. I have a little surprise for my dog TiLoup. I love my Pomeranian and I always wanted to have two of them so...I fell in love with this little lady. Her name is Cedar. Since my van has a cedar interior and my boat is basically made out of cedar...I figure that her name was fitting. Meet Cedar the new member of my family! She's so sweet, the best little puppy I've ev...

We are finishing up the outside getting it ready for paint. Doing some fiberglass work and starting on the inside flooring. Grinding, fiberglass, painting and building a floor. It's been really hot and the heat is getting to me. I've been working hard. I'm looking forward to getting things done on the inside outside of the sun.

I Finally received my windows! We are getting closer to making the boat water sealed. I'm happy with how the windows turned out. Getting the plywood on the exterior, the blue skin and the Tyvec was a huge step in this build! Hope you enjoy this video!
Demo and custom windows...ouch. BOAT RESTORATION /TINY LIVING/BOAT LIFE

Doing more demo to get the boat ready for new windows. I went to get a quote for some new windows. I didn't know if it would be possible but I found the right company to do it. It's summer and super hot outside. It's hard to do full days on the boat.

I wasn't sure I wanted to replace the windows...they decided they wanted to be replaced. Unfortunately one broke and well...I guess I have to replace them. I knew it might have been a possibility but It's happening after all. Getting the boat ready to fix the decks. The exterior wood is in bad shape so it's time for it to go!

The work continues. I have a welder that came to fix the wholes on the bottom of the boat. The paint on the bottom of the boat is getting better and better. Made huge headway inside the boat. The floor is getting all cleaned up. What a messy job. I'm so happy of the results.

I'm moving! Moving back into my van once again. Vanlife has been my back up way of living for the past 8 years. I'm saying goodbye to a lovely little rental and headed into vanlife. Getting my set up and ready for working on the boat. I'm very fortunate to have my van set up right where I'm working on the boat. Makes my life a lot easier! I'm showing you a tour or the van and yes... the bus. I ...

The work begins! Lots to do, so much clean up and demo. It's interesting. Under the floor was full of rust and water which is a challenge to clean and prep for sure. I'm trying not to get overwhelmed. It's definitely a huge project. I'm trying to take it day by day and do one task at a time. I question myself if I made the right decision picking another project instead of a boat that was all re...

I've been looking for an alternative way of living and I was introduced to the water 5 years ago. It's a beautiful place to live and I'm excited to have a home on the water. Another great episode! I’m absolutely loving what you’re doing! Thanks for sharing your journey!
It’s lookin’ so good inside! You’re doing an amazing job!
Well I’m sure glad I stumbled on to your channel! She is a beautiful boat and I admire your tenacity to push through. The finished boat will be amazing!
So exciting !!!! Watching this transformation has been so fun. Let me be an annoying keyboard warrior for that larger square tank... it's worth taking up the space in my opinion, woman to woman lol... too late to convince ya (although I feel through your video vibe you could see the square one being worth the space grab!) Will you raise(step ups perhaps) the tank to be able to see out window a bit or nah? Much Love ~April
@Serendipity-Divine hii I hear ya! My tub would of been right beside the toilet haha it's ok I made peace! I can't raise the tub because the ceiling is too low and I won't have space for the shower head. The widow is frosted so I can't see out of it. The bathroom window is on the dock side so I'd rather no one be able to see me shower lol you are so sweet thank you for your support! ♡
@boatnbustinylivingconversi5677 oh gotcha. All makes sense...you'll make divine spa soaks happen regardless. ✨️ Such a great idea
Good work and great progress! 🛟 ⚓️
You are just pumping vids out ❤
Nice project. It’s going to be sweet when you are finished. Proper tools are a must. Wet/Dry vacuum, 5” metal scraper, angle grinder with wire brush attachment. The some rust remover navel jelly or the like - Ospho over that and epoxy paint and she’s good for generations. I wouldn’t worry about the cabin to much thats a project that is much easier than the hull. Not sure where you all are located but I may be interested in that stove. Best
Ive been patiently waiting for this You Tube announcement ❤🎉😉
Congratulations Jolianne. Cedar is so beautiful. A perfect family.
Ah, finally something good to watch
This is going to be such an awesome boat. Great work! :)
As always 🎉❤👍🏼👍🏼
So enjoying watching your progress. Well done young lady! 🎉🎉🎉
Another fantastic episode of “This Old Boat”
I like Sage Green.
Copper penny
Misty mint could get scrapped imo. Otherwise id be procrastinating out the ass with the other three! Copper and the other green im really stuck on. Knowing myself if in your shoes, Id be enabling my procrastination with ideas to incorporate both! 😵💫🤯
@@Serendipity-Divine riiight!! It's such a tough decision!
I'd go with the Sage, my self...
@@Pinworthy it's definitely a popular vote!
Finally a new video I've been going through withdrawals
@@matthewmurphy2881 hahaha I'll keep them coming lol
Hi Jolianne, what do you estimate the total cost will be? You’re doing a fantastic job.
@@RobA-YT Hi! I'm not sure so far I'm in for $40000 we shall see!
@@boatnbustinylivingconversi5677 it’s going to be worth every single dollar.
Gotta wonder how the centipede got there. What do you think, Do they swim or can they jump really really far?
@ZzstZ great question...maybe they went on the ropes of the boat and crawled aboard hahaha
I'm voting jump 🚁
@@ZzstZ I'm sure that's what they did
I love the added metal flange/lip around the deck of the boat. Should really help with keeping the rain out.
Way to go! What a great project. One thing I've learned in my bus build is to accept the fact that its going to take longer than I'd like to get to the various milestones I've set for myself. I've discovered that I can learn just about anything from others on UA-cam who have traveled my path before me. And if there's not an easy or immediate solution, I am beginning to realize that I can embrace the concept of fabrication. Allow those moments of being overwhelmed pass. Redirect yourself to see all that you have done up to now. How wonderful that Scott is able to help out. I really enjoy your videos and seeing the progress you are making. Keep up the great work!
Beautiful. Scott's craftsmanship is truly impressive. What a piece of art. Very best wishes on your future adventures!
It does look nice but one concern,,won't the black rail get awful hot in the sun for grabbing? Rails can be a very popular item for visitors without much experience on a rocking deck.
Awesome, i would have added more windows lol or something cool like a round one on each side or bottles bottoms to bring in the light , but nevertheless so much better!
You've gained a subscriber! I love your cheerful personality and your work ethic! The boat is going to be fabulous.
Fantastic work, shes looking beautiful! Youre absolutely glowing too! Feel the excitement and passion emitting off of you! So glad pup ok. Angers me. So glad youre such a present pet owner. Couldve been so much worse if not. Much love and hugs❤ ~April
Heck ur dog should have been hard @ work on tht boat.
Bonjours Jolianne. Olivier.
Looks so good
Bonjour Jolianne. Olivier.
You are amazing! Of course you can do this!! Let me know when you plan on visiting the dog park again....
@@ElaineHay-CareerMatchmaker hi Elaine!! Thank you so much!! Of course I'll come by and see you!!
Nice to see you doing well and doing some great work.
@josephgallarino6482 thank you so much! So good to hear from you! Sending love to you and your family!
You bought that boat and had a BUDGET for repair!!🤔🤔🤔🤦
Haha right... I tried! 😅
You did a beautiful job finishing the boat ...but its No longer a boat... it's just a floating home ..2 top heavy to take out in the ocean.....
@claybornlewis276 yes that was the intention for it to become a float home :)
It would be nice if there were subtitles Your boat is really cool, this thing of doing it is good because, agent puts it the way , because, agente coloca do jeito que gosta ...Eu pretendo um dia poder fazer também...
Bonjour Jolianne.
Courage Jolianne. Vos abonnés vous soutiennent à fond. Amitiés. Olivier.
Wow looks like you have got a lot done. Looking forward to seeing videos of your progress. 👍👍
The bus looks cozy! That's sweet you have that to extend your living zone. I gotta come visit soon, miss you! 💜
@@hellolaryssa miss you too!! 🥰
Woohooo big changes! Remember, the journey isn’t the end destination, it’s the process to get there, enjoy the next build 🙌
Bonjour Jolianne. Olivier.
Oh myyyyy....seeing the great fantastic Big Red van again fires up my van project flames! Love love the updates, everything looks so cozy and serene. Im so behind with my build, but seeing your van in this thorough walk through, eeeek!!! I get all fired up again!! I try not to be too hard on myself, I did willingly put many other little projects on my own shoulders that have helped distract. Worthy distractions though. Point to self to remember, anyway... I hope you know how inspiring you are!! Your execution of building a cozy home on wheels is exceptional 👌🏼 Looking forward to seeing you build your haven and express your creativity with your delightful house "canal" boat!
@Serendipity-Divine awe you are so sweet! Yes sometimes a build can be discouraging and hard. It's he day by day making a plan and not putting too much pressure on yourself. It's always difficult but a great life lesson. You are so kind thank you for your kind words!
Eeeeek!!!! Youre shining! Authentic journeys have their way of bringing us into our best timelines 🥰😉 I see love and passion exuding from you!!!❤
Super stoked! Thank you so much for all the extra work you endure sharing your journey/adventures with us. Sure did miss ya though 😅🥰
@Serendipity-Divine awe thank you so much! I'm definitely trying to be more present and share!! 🤗
Ohhhhh how I'm soooo excited! Much Love!❤
Bonjour jolianne.
All be worth it in the end . Who's the fun sponge 😂😂
Bonjours Jolianne. Olivier.
