If people (as is often quoted) for real don't buy GW Minis and they're left with 70% of the stock, the price would go down. But if they release something and people are already queuing up like at a Black Friday sale, it would be uneconomical to lower the prices.

I’m surprised you’d call for a Primaris update for the Grey Knights considering how bad most of the Primaris range is.. and how half your worst list was made up of Primaris units 😂 I just hope that if they do a range refresh, they lean as far *away* from the Primaris aesthetic as possible. Castellan Crowe was a pretty good update as he’s still practically first born as there’s only one minor detail his armour has that’s slightly similar to mark X.

I hate recent Emperor's children models. Fulgrim looks like shit (heresy model looks amazing, wtf happened) , Lucius looks like shit, noise marinres look like shit, and what the fuck is wrong with those marines? Poses and everything look off to me. Night lords look amazing, wtf happened here?

Turns out if something is out of stock, it doesn’t show up in the search! How fucking stupid. I hate the new website with a passion. Also, talking about the website, with regards to the rebrand, you forgot to mention they also changed the name of the website from GW to Warhammer.

As for the sprue I fukin hate those cad made models, they always cut it in weird places reason being its harder for recasters but also make me furious when I try to convert any new part. You could build firstborn marine and guard model with your eyes closed, now if you dont have instructions good luck on making 10 man unit without some major fuckup. Thats main reason I like FEC models because they are older, simple and easy to work with.

Recent subscriber here, you have a good eye spotting that branding detail. Does it spell a big change for the brand? Could be. We're already seeing a lot of big moves and changes from GW in the form of the storefronts (as you mentioned) and even more so with their movie/tv adaptations--e.g. Amazon's "Secret Level" and Henry Cavill's project(s). Knowing all of this it definitely wouldn't be out of left field for GW to do a full rebrand--to the general public, "Warhammer" is a much more recognizable and specific title than "Games Workshop."

It's such a shame about the dodgy genestealer models, and the boring/weird Necromunda Squats. Because the recent lore has been very good. The whole malstrain story is cool, the Squat storyline is really great. But the models are so uninspiring they put me off looking into it further. With the Squats, I don't understand why they didn't just lean into the oldhammer style just a bit more, instead of the weird angular armour plating and that awful white plastic looking paint scheme

My legion! I've mostly been repurposing oldhammer bits, using old firstborn beakies, recasts, 3d prints, lots of conversions of the plastics. One thing I will say is the lack of support Raven Guard get in any of the 40k universe systems does suck. EG I was expecting Kaedes Nex, at long last something for us beak enthusiasts, when the Mars book dropped, but instead we got passed over and on to the consuls. I thought even if he was average there'd be a feast of bits to use for all sorts of characters and squads. 40k wise the primaris upgrade sprue and transfers are excellent, and birdman himself Shrike is a hideous mess, quite possibly the worst Primaris model and maybe the worst 40k model currently for sale

Well, its a "damned if you do, damned if you dont" scenario where certain parts of the community complain about the balance. I personally just play with my kids so dont care about it but I guess such frequent changes will certainly piss off the casual club/flg crowd.

GW is miniature company not game company right? Same thing with codex and new editions, my FEC battletome lasted 3 months and new edition had cool rules put behind centerpiece model.

I wonder what the cost difference between Forge World Krieg and the new plastic Krieg is. The models certainly don't look better.

These days one can get an FDM printer and filament for half the price and have an army that size printed within a month or so. In a quality that is easily good enough for gaming!

Greed Workshop charge you to test their product

For the same price I spent week in hotel with my missus and eating out everyday. My printer/clener, all gear plus 2 bottles of high grade resin and 1y sub for program was around 400. I used one bottle on learning printing with other I printed myself nice start for LaD army( 10+ IW terminators, 50+ infantry, 4 sentinels, 6 ogryns, 2 artillery squads, 6 weapon teams with all weapon swaps and Avenger fighter[twice because I fucked up first time and it collapsed on itself in few places]), bunch of bits for my armies, 2 fleets for BFG. I do buy GW plastic(AOS-FEC army) cuz I like converting and find it easier to work with than my ABS resin but it is always second hand models.

For me prices are beyond justification now, even at discount. I'm doing the combat patrol magazine as it's pretty good value to paint up and re-sell but that's it, even though I may stop that at some point this year if the economy keeps tanking. Even in 2nd Ed points that's only about 500pts in the boxed set. At about £40-60 a month you could stretch it over a whole year and we all know prices will rise again by 3-5% in the Spring. I guess play more skirmish type rules/older editions or get richer somehow 🤷‍♂

I'd be interested to hear what you guys think the future for 40k is for the next while? I don't play it anymore, but as a casual observer, I'm thinking once Krieg and Eldar are done, the only factions that still haven't had a total overhaul are Catachans and Dark Eldar? Catachans I definitely think we'll see in the next couple years. Dark Eldar - I don't think they're popular enough. Maybe they'll replace the remaining resin models with new kill teams or something. Then there's a few older kits that could use a refresh - Ogryns, close combat terminators, etc. I wonder if they'll focus more on the game mechanics once those ranges are done, or if they'll start dropping new alien races.

If you look closely, the yellow model is on a square base - so I'd say it's another Empire/human mercenary wizard, the vampire/whatever it is, is on an oval cav base, so that's AoS. Maybe they're bringing the old mech stuff over to 40k? wouldn't be a bad idea!

Its not wargame, its a board game. Scale is cool, model quality will be propably good/great but board is waaay to small. As for esthetics gundams look like women ice skaters. I cant get over it and wont buy it even if its superior game/product overall. Too much weird shit, skirts, heels, boots, blades and antenas pointing out in random places. If they would focus more on working designs like Zaku or some of the "mob" mech from Full Metal Panic like AmiAmi or something like first Pacific Rim mechs I would look in to it but as it looks now its clownshow for me personally. Oh and dont forget 'cards' so gacha mechanic and 7 difrent tiers for one model or pilot.
