individual drone tuning on the Scottish smallpipes
Переглядів 4414 днів тому
Here is how you can effectively and individually tune the drones on a set of Scottish smallpipes. It actually works, and it is a lot of fun. Yes, you will eventually have to tune them to the chanter. But other than that. It is the way you can effectively roughly tune your drones. The Piper's choice mouth blown Scottish smallpipes do allow you to roughly tune the drones. Instead of having a cork...

tuning a set of Scottish smallpipes to great highland bagpipe tuning
Переглядів 17228 днів тому
Here's how you can tune a set of Scottish smallpipes that normally play in the key of a. Just grab a practice chanter that has a higher pitch sound. Install it into the chanter stock. Then tune the drones to the chanter. Then you have a set of pipes that are tuned to sound like the great highland bagpipes. I actually just discovered this with my practice chanter. Although the chanter does not a...

how does this Irish tin whistle sound when played with another track
Переглядів 14928 днів тому
Well, I thought I would share with you my thoughts on what this Irish tin whistle sounds like when playing with another track. I am using my keyboard to simulate the guitar and fiddle players. And yes. I am playing this with my Irish tin whistle. And all honesty, I think it actually sounds really cool when played with other instruments. Especially with guitar and fiddle. And if I could possibly...

Well, it unfortunately had to be taken down due to putting strain on the screws. It will still be used in the normal pin spot fashion like we all know that it can do, however, it will also be used as a normal ordinary spotlight. And that will be awesome, because it will provide more enhancement to the videos as well. Also when relaxing on the bed, the cyan light for coming from it will just be ...

Dude you're lucky I've always wanted to learn how to play the bagpipes. Would you recommend starting with some of these? Because I'm very sensitive fill out noise and the lower frequency will be better for me. I hope we can be your friend of course
I always love doing darts with my Dad and my brother in the garage every summer. it’s a lot of fun.
I really like the sound of these pipes and the tune list. Can you post a tune list to share?
This is not an actual tune list, but there are some tunes that I might not actually realize that I'm playing, however, one of them is a slow tune, and I based it off of dawning of the day. No actual familiar tunes, but some improvisations in the most popular Scottish bagpiping styles. Mainly jigs and the slow ones.
What chanter and drone reeds do you use?
The type of chanter that I use is the one that came with the small pipes that I have, but I don't know what chanter Piper choice actually uses. However, I do know but I and I guess that the chanter was made by Piper's choice themselves. As far as the drone reads go, I'm using easy drone small reads. I also tried using my Dunbar practice chanter a couple of times, though the chanter body is a bit bigger than my regular small pipe chanter, it found its way to actually work in the pipes themselves. However, the Piper's choice small pipe chanter actually fits a little better, and is easier to take out whenever not in use. One thing I had thought about, is how could practice chanter style drone reads work in a traditional set of small pipes..
Great video! Have been toying with the idea of getting some small pipes so I can play at night time without annoying the neighbours.....this vid has sold me on it!
Glad I could help!
I love Halex dart boards.
They’re awesome!
Amazing! keep it up
Thank you! Will do!
Cool!
They sound magical!!
Great job. Fast learner
Thanks, it was a lot of fun!

yes ma bro... very strong.. if yo only been playing for a short time then 100% keep it up.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice.
Thanks for listening!
Fun fact: Southern California actually DID use a 50Hz power grid prior to 1948. After that, the 50Hz power grid was decommissioned in favor of a 60Hz power grid.
very cool
Keep goin! 🔥
I will!
I ordered a $30 one I found on ebay just to try this. Can't believe how good it sounds.
How can you give people such bad information? Mate your throwing technique is terrible and you miss the board half the time.
Look how he is grabbing the darts he has got to be legally blind. Or 100% blind.
bro but why dont you clean your face before recording a video??
"how to throw darts" by a man who misses 5 out of 9 and averages under 10
To anyone wandering, a set of darts usually comes in a set of three. But you can get multiple sets. I had one set that had three darts. But one of the darts severed near the flight end. So that's why I went ahead and replace the set. Also, a fun fact. Occasionally I can actually score two bullseye in a row, and also I can get doubles and triples. The benefits of playing a solo game and using one set of darts, is that it allows me to get up close to the board and actually find where the dart was actually thrown in relation to the board. Also, if I play a multiplayer game. I will just remove the darts and hand them over to the next player. Which will allow them to play their turn. If you are playing a solo game on your own, it actually allows you to get better at every round. Also, the dartboard will actually tell you if you are hitting doubles, triples, or in fact the bullseye. It won't actually narrate what number you are hitting. But it will tell you if you are hitting the double or triple, or even the bullseye. I find those to be one of the coolest benefits of dart boards today, rather than the traditional bristle or wooden boards.
Nice😎
Thanks ✌
think you need to wipe your face mate
please dont
You don’t play pipes anymore?
Oh no. I am still playing them. I just have not made a video of me playing them yet. For 2025.
Meaning, I have not stopped playing the pipes. They are still going.
@@Bagpipecoasters9233 that’s good ! You’re a great player.
@@HUHBAas a matter of fact, I actually am planning on making one for 2025. And yes, it will be featuring my mouth blown Scottish smallpipes
the notes it produces makes your hair on the back of your neck stand up, nice stuf 🐸👍
Yeah! It's a great tune!
You are really on to something…..I had never thought about using an external drone. But now you have inspired me to really enhance my piping performance. I am using my neighbor’s cat as a single note regulator in the uilleann fashion. To make it sound, of course, all i have to do is tromp on its tail. Tuning has been tricky; i had to get it to match e and a by feeding in more to raise the pitch and less for lower.

What happened to the coupling between the locomotive and the tender "coal car"? You must put the batteries in the tender.
Welcome to the world of the Tongue Drum. I have a UA-cam channel dedicated to the instrument.
is this song downing of the day ? the melody looks like a bit different
what is the name of the song u played with the chanter ?
awesome!
Very nice tunes! Your kilt looks great---i couldn't understand you when you told us what clan it is from. What DO Scotsmen wear under their kilts?
Wolf stone is a kilt company. However, they do call themselves a clan. I actually bought my kilt back when I competed at the fair Hill highland games 6 months ago. This was back when I was still playing the ghbs. In other words. The great highland bagpipes. Traditionally, the Scotts just wore the kilt by itself. However, I like to wear clothes underneath the kilt. So that way it doesn't seem like I'm just wearing The kilt by itself.😅
Lmr baaagpipes How about 4 Equidistant Strings?
Hola amigo salidos tu la vendes?
Oh great…now I have to get a Lyre harp. 😅
Go ahead. It's just another version of a lap heart. But with a wider range and a lower octave and they sound really cool.
They do make the seven and 10 string harps, but I would recommend a minimal of 16th.
Nice, looked like you were starting to dance at the beginning of your playing.
Yeah I did
Your kilt looks awesome, I love the colors🤍
Sounds great! I really enjoyed that, and if I could play like that after 1 yr I think I'd be pretty happy, well done. Nice toned 'pipes too, what make are they? All the best for the next leg of the piping journey
Thanks a lot!
What the fuck?
european parts in that keyboard...used to jam here at home with electric guitar...one of the foot pedals buzz like that when i crank up the distortion
With the color, wheel ararement and lack of side tanks, this kinda looks like skarloey
It's funny how pixel art can do that. I tried to make it look as realistic as I could with grumpy Bear next to james. It kind of looks like skarloey, but I tried to make it look like james. Grumpy Bear does look realistic as well, however, I just did not specify the shade of blue for his fur.
great video very helpful thank you very much mate 🇬🇧
Glad it helped
Great info and playing. FYI, your video is currently "untitled". Maybe give it a good title to attract more viewers. And a description.
Thanks for the tip!
The funny thing is, I actually have been titling my videos. Somehow, I don't know if it was a recent update, but somehow, when the video would upload. The title would go away and end up being an untitled video. I guess that was a flaw in the most recent update on the UA-cam app. I had to uninstall and then reinstall the update for UA-cam in order for it to work properly again. I sure hope you two fixes this issue here in the future.
That was supposed to be UA-cam in the last sentence. That was a typo.
Very nice. My family's Scottish on my mother's side and English on my father's side. I heard a lot of this music growing up as a child.
Thanks for listening
I hope you liked it as well.
Just imagine playing in the key of g, then shifting up to the key of d, playing your mixolydian scale. That is actually what traditional bagpipe music is played. And in particular the Scottish bagpipes.
What I was referring to was the lap harp. Playing it in the key of g, but shifting up 5 to the key of d. And then playing some of the tunes. Especially Battle of waterloo. And Rowan tree. I have played Rowan tree in the regular major scale, but it also sounds cool in the mixolydian scale. Since that is what bagpipes are normally played.
I know, there's so many tips, techniques and tricks that it's sometimes hard to know where to start. But it's not rocket science to get your man shivering with ecstasy just by changing the way you talk. As simple as this sounds, maybe try escalating it a step at a time, go’ogle something like Words of Desire by Celestine Dessike to sneakily crawl into his mind and let it build on from that.
Very musical, well done
Pretty Amazing man keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
