Jakes Rocks 2023 - Bald Eagle
Переглядів 165Рік тому
This was our last trail after a weekend at Jakes Rocks, so we were too tired to ride it properly, but it was still a ton of tun. We parked at the Overlook parking lot and another on the side of the road where Elijah ends. We took Coal Knob to Elijah to the Bald Eagle trailhead. Elijah is long with a lot of climbs. Next time we would try to park on a service road closer to the Bald Eagle trailhe...

I traded my 2019 Roscoe 8 in for a 2021 Trek Fuel EX 7! This is the Seneca Park Trail in Victor, NY.

MTB Washed Out Bridge - Stid Hill
Переглядів 723 роки тому
I finally stopped to try out a multi-use trail at Stid Hill in Bristol, NY. I realized too late that the bridge was washed out and I was going too slow to gap it.
I have never had a full squish bike!! Only front forks!!! Im so hesitant to switch from a hard tail!!
My experience has been great. It’s just as good at climbing as my hardtail was and much easier on my lower back allowing me to do longer rides. I do miss my hardtail from time to time, but I’m not able to have two bikes currently, so this is still my favorite do it all bike.
love this bike, year two and still going strong, changed fork, brakes tires and handlebar and it smashes bike parks (advanced trails). the best part about this bike that it's not only a good geometry, it looks very visually appealing as well.
I miss that place 😢 It’s so damn good!
Cool
Does it climb good?
Yes. I think it climbs better than my hardtail. Possibly because of 29” vs 27” tires, but I think it’s better at keeping traction. I don’t lock out the suspension when I climb.
How much did you pay for it
$3500. I’ve been really pleased with it.
great job dad!
What trail is that
It’s part of Epping Forest. They put in two of these drops a while back.
Does the black trail go all the way down the hill? Is there a better way to ride it - clockwise or counter clockwise?
The black trail is a loop and doesn’t go all the way down. There is a trail that leads to the road on the other side of the hill, but they don’t allow bikes. I’ve ridden it mostly CCW, but just tried it CW recently and it’s just as fun.
Do you like the Roscoe 8 or fuel ex 7 more? I’m thinking about both of those bikes? Also which one is better at climbing?
Overall I prefer the Fuel. It climbs better and the FS helps with the really rooted trails I ride often.
@@dreybrouck Ok, I think I’m sold now. Thanks!
Do you know what the percentage of the bike’s anti squat is?
How many times have you maintained the trek fuel ex 7? By maintained I mean; how many times have you greased the pivot points and how many times have you serviced the shock.
It’s less than 1 year old, so I haven’t done any of that yet. I just ordered some torque wrenches and a shock pump. I plan to grease and tighten all the bolts this week. My rear shock sag is definitely low, so I plan to add some air to it.
@@dreybrouck Ok thanks!
Does the shock get stiff when you pedal? Is it good at climbing? Also is the frame durable? I’m thinking about getting a ex 7 2022.
Shocks stay pretty loose when pedaling, but not in a bad way. It climbs great, better than my Roscoe 8, probably because of the larger wheels. I’ve had no frame issues, seems solid. I don’t do crazy jumps, but I do 5ft drops regularly with no issues.
@@sysadminshow Ok. I think I’m sold now! Thanks man!
Did you buy it? If so how do you like it?
@@dreybrouck Yes I did the bike is excellent and smooth. I got it a month ago.
Need some more uploads brother.
I've got the exact same bike / color / large frame...It's my favorite bike out of all full suspension bikes i've owned.
Nice riding brother and the Trek Fuel is dope bike. Great upload.
Appreciate it
I have a fuel ex 9.8 2021 and I love it!! It's kinda a do it all bike...iv done everything except downhill on, even though it does have a beefy 36 fox on it...I'm not brave enough, yet!! Enjoy the bike...I'm sure u will have some great times on it 👍👍
I'm almost 2 month into it and this bike doesn't leave me wanting for anything! I'm not hitting huge jumps or DH yet, so it's just right for building my skills. I had a ton of pedal strikes at first while I got used to riding a FS bike, but that really rare now. Climbing is excellent, possibly even better than my hardtail, but this could just be improved fitness now that I'm riding much more regularly.
How’s the fork?
For the riding I do the fork is working great. I’ve hit roots and rocks while on step descents and it take the hit as I would expect. I’ve never tried a DH bike, so I don’t have anything more advanced to compare it with.
Size Lrg ,how tall are you? I'm looking at Lrg or M/L and the m/l seems too small. Any advice?
I'm 6'1". I was on a XL Trek Roscoe 8 before this bike. Neither bothered me, but I do like the fit of this bike better. If you are close to my height then go with the Large.
you ride too slow man why
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll try to go faster, lol.
Mario thinks too fast....
Classic
Hey what happened to your old videos? I loved that rock climbing video that u had before
Sorry I just cleaned house. I started mountain biking again recently and plan on focusing on that going forward. I honestly didn't think anyone would notice since they were all 10+ years old, lol.
@@dreybrouck ah gotcha. Yeah I definitely noticed cause that was a video I loved watching because how you guys climbed!
