Fw 190 A-4 Gear Retraction Cycle
These are the retracts from my White 9 on previous videos. She didn't survive the first flight but much was salvageable. The retracts were reused and this time inner gear doors have been added.
Platt Zero with Electron Retracts

I'm refitting my Platt Zero with a set of Electron retracts. Originally Robarts were installed. Really like the new units!
Fw 190 1/5 Scale First Taxi
This is a "sort of" Dave Platt design with scratch built retracts. This was first taxi to check engine & fuel and tailwheel steering. Really shaky filming but I was driving and filming at the same time.

The tail gear is scratch built of aluminum and carbon. It is driven by an Actuonix actuator.
Fw 190 5.2 Scale (modified Dave Platt) landing gear retraction with completed doors.
The model was finished up to primer last spring and was put away for the summer. It is being readied to continue construction. At this point the retracts are complete. They are scratch built using 3D printed aluminum parts and Actuonix actuators.

Excellent work and plane. I wonder if I see that you painted the plane. How did you do it? What technique did you use? Did you paint on the wood or did you put fiberglass on it first and then put primer and paint on it?
fantastic setup
Jeffery, veri nice work 👍👍👍
☠BLACK BARON☠ 2:22 It looks very detailed. Well done. The shape and design of this 2-prop bomber is great. Flying these artworks made from scratch for the first time is pure thrill. The challenge with 2-props is to get curvy flights look really scale like in the air. They do often drop a little in altitude and get tail heavy and shaky. Especially at low speed. Keep pushing flight log data in your transmitter. Keep flying. It helps.
Hi Jeff, is it possible to get either the CAD files or STL files for the parts?
Gonna look into them seams to be lighter and more reliable then my old robarts.
Muy bueno 👍👍👍👍
I love it! Have you design the spinner/fan? I'm trying to design it for my FW190.. David
Hi Jeffery, splendid model congratulations! I have a question, have you design the spinner and the fan as well? I'm building one as well, for the spinner/fan I've design one and 3D print it, but not sure it will works.. thanks, David from FRANCE
Nice!
Nice looking project. What make, size engine you are using in this beautiful bird
Love this! I'm tinkering with using the Actuonix servo to convert a set of Yellow Aircraft P-47 landing gear to electric. Was this the L12 or L16 servo? Is the end of the cylinder arm a standard SAE or metric thread size where you have your fitting for the threaded rod that goes to the trunnion? Appreciate any info you can share. Thanks!
Great Model . Very beautiful . You need to adjust the Servo on that Starboard undercarriage bay though .
Hell, that was a beast. I built it in 1:32 back as a kid. Love it
hand of god needed
👍🏼 Aber „Reifendruck“… ✌🏼
Looking superb.
Hi Arthur, thanks! It's been a while, good to hear from you! Seems like so long since I visited you. You can guess, but before I started building to Dave's plans I checked them to be sure he did a good job following your drawings, he did a good job.
Schaut Klasse aus, auch der lebensechte Pilot. Danke !
Thank you, she turned out very nice. Yes, a good pilot is so important, that's Gunther Rall from Best Pilots.
WOW😯
Absolutely beautiful work!
Thanks!
Very nice 👌 👍
Thanks!
That's awesome looking. I like the way they look so scale
Geil !!! I hope the Heinkel flying well !
This man is a master builder. I've never seen a man as prolific as Jeff. His scratch built, highly detailed scale warbirds are award winning.
I did not know that the He-219 has a giant finger in it's gear system
He also resembled the original's LG mishabbits in full scale detail. Chapeau!
Amazing work!
Nice!!
And as always " God's helping hand"
Nicely done Jeff , she looks beautiful Cheers Phil
Nice job Jeff. !!
Jeff, is that a block of lead up front?
1st let me say your craftsmanship hate everything beyond excellent this is about the aircraft itself she's one ugly ladyou're an ugly lady but she flew looks like you did a good job
Beautiful plane.
Outstanding work.
Thanks!
It looks really heavy. It's a beautiful plane, but it looks like it flys like a man hole cover.
this is fantastic. i so love the 190 but what a magnificent model...i want it... hans 'assi' hahn's plane. hahn in german means rooster. hahn was shot down on the eastern front and became a prisoner of war. he had over 100 kills...he also flew a messerschmitt 109 with the same markings.
Nice Plane ang Gear! Do you realy have to start the engine for this?
I'm guessing yes, air stream testing. A lot of thing work fine on the bench, but not so well when giving 100Kph wind. Just a guess. I'm not total sure of his reasoning
Absolutely love it…..
Thanks!
What size and RC brand is this? Love the 190!
Hi, it is a 78 inch span based on the Dave Platt plans. It was modified to add scale retracts and a twin cylinder 60cc engine.
You need a batt just for the landing gear.
Beautiful plane. Who is producer of the kit?
cool
I enjoyed watching that come together!
Thanks, I was checking in on your 109 the other day, looking good!
Aweful Jeff Please send to me , Great Cambourne , England , and i'll sort it out for you lol Cheers Phil
Nah, you have to come here to visit! Then you can see the whole fleet first hand!
Who is the airplane kit from?
Jeff built it from Dave Platt plans. It is not a kit. hope that helps.
Hi, It was built using the Dave Platt plans but with modifications for the scale retracts and a 60cc two cylinder engine.
It is capable of flying, it had one test flight but the landing did not go so well. After the repairs and completion of the detailing I decided not to fly it. Instead I am now finishing a slightly smaller A-6 that will be my flying model, some of it's videos of the landing gear tests are posted.
Beautiful engineering. Happy landings.
I'm a FW190 fan, and you've really done some amazing work there!
