Our mission is to protect and restore Minnesota’s most vital natural lands to provide wildlife habitat, clean air & water, and outdoor experiences for generations to come.

More healthy, intact landscapes benefit us all. But over the last 150 years, Minnesota has lost 50% of wetlands, 40% of forests, and more than 98% of prairies due to agriculture and development, leaving fewer natural spaces to sequester and store carbon, filter groundwater, and help maintain clean air and species biodiversity.

Over 70% of Minnesota lands are privately held and at a higher risk for parcelization, development, and further degradation. That's why we work primarily with private landowners to protect private lands.
