I don't think I was aware of a computer game version of this one. How does it compare to the board game? I never got into the board game -- too simplistic for my tastes. But maybe the computer game version is more detailed?
There are several computer adaptions of A&A and yes, it's a very simple game. However this is my own pimped out version (it's on the steam workshop for tabletop simulator) but it is arguably too complex. I've tried writing manuals, I get bored before I finish! Learning this would probably be best done by suffering through watching it played! And I don't recommend that
I guess shadows will make a huge difference in looks. Can you post an update on this once you've implemented shadows? If you're using three.js it shouldn't be hard to add them. It is just another material and maybe the option .castShadows = true (or something like that).
I've started work on them, it's a little complex because space distances are huge and no amount of shadow bias can save the day so it looks like I will need to fake light source positions for shadow casting. It's all a bit tricky, but of course lighting makes a huge difference to any scene.
@@marcodiovany it's just me coding. The models are a patreon reward from an artist I support. What you see here is really just a day or so of work from my side. I was just playing with the models, but I think I will continue.
@@pearofgeeksii8156 Actually, i`m working in a space multiplayer game too but in 2D because it`s easier to find material, maybe we can cooperate in future problems
Converting wealth to credits - yes, this was an unfortunate omission. The score times 200 is a good guideline. If I were still supporting the True20 version, I'd add that as errata.
Sounds like a crew more similar to FARSCAPE than FIREFLY 😂 Saddened to see that Humans have been cast aside for the more 'exotic' races. Will be interesting to see how thing unfold. It should be F-U-N, right Ronnie?
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! our group is in the 56th Session, in Egypt, with Kenya still missing, and we look forward to concluding this unforgettable Saga as well.
So after all that, a FAIL. A lesser fail for sure but still... all those Mythos nasties loose in the world 😱😱😱 A good effort though and the world both thanks you and curses you in equal measure! Well done Jayson, a magnificent feat of Keepering! You deserve a medal for your efforts. 🥇
I think my big takeaway from this campaign is that when the final boss is a super powerful god like majic user, there is simply no better way of preventing them casting oral spells than by face sitting. One for my D&D playbook for sure.
@@pearofgeeksii8156 It was certainly an original solution and if nothing else could cause a mis-cast through improper pronunciation! Of course in D&D you'd need to have quick release armour for this to be effective in combat...
@@steveross8364 how about Roman legionnaire style armour? It's still technically a breast plate, so you'd get full AC.... But with quick access to the caster silencing device. ;)
The lighting in the background was quite foreboding. The cute kitty had the opposite effect lol. Really enjoyed this. Hopefully I can catch up but you guys are all the way to episode 63 at this point, wow!
And they think I am a harsh and unforgiving GM... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit: Also did the GM change the rules at 1:29:57 to get the TPK?? Steward's Inquiry needed I think....
They got what they deserved! I literally killed their favourite NPC and had her hanging by a sword through her face as a clue. They where wounded. They met a BBEG. They attacked one at a time. Sometimes you have to choose between TPK or deus ex machina. And I figured the former would be a learning moment ;)
@@BeckyRoseDungeonGirl So are your saying the players failed to realize their peril, did something stupid despite (not so) subtle warnings from the GM and died as a result? Not very much different from a GMing style that Jayson said he wouldn't want to play under then. 😜 But what about that rule change? That was a stinker learning moment or not imho. "I want to reintroduce a rule that I used to run with AFA and completely forget to mention at the start of this campaign..." The sudden inclusion of a rule, meaning the Disadvantage card for his wound replacing his highest card, changed Phil's heroic last gasp victory to a loss and caused the TPK. Surely this was an unfair rule change especially at such a crucial time and seems like it was the GM TPKing the party on purpose?
@@steveross2649 The rule correction (which is what it was really) didn't impact the result, Phil was attempting a fire magic spell and its very difficult to cast a spell during battle when you are wounded - it requires the suite of the cards to match so regardless of the rule correction or not he still had to play the wrong suited card which made the spell fail. AFA is brutally difficult when you are wounded; the idea being that the "wounded" state is actually equivellent to other games death state. If there is no penalty for being wounded players fight at their maximum until death which creates more opportunities for TPK. Really the players started a fight with the BBEG with multiple wounded characters, persisted when the odds clearly where clearly against them and they had no hope of reversing the outcome, and won themselves the title: "lemming of the year".
actually it's an injustice for me to describe the failure that way, let me expand: 1. They took an introduction to the BBEG as an opportunity for a fight. 2. They didn't prepare 3. They ignored the clues that this was not a fight they could win. 4. They ignored an out of character assertion from the GM that they probably couldn't win 5. They started the fight already in a state of defeated 6. Their attacks where unco-ordinated and unplanned 7. When the fight started going wrong they persisted 8. They didnt surrender or retreat when they started dropping
@@BeckyRoseDungeonGirl Phil's cards for that final attack were not shown on screen so I am only going by Player reaction and comments. It seems like Phil had a suit of Fire Cards to attack with until the Disadvantage card (not a Fire card) was remembered and replaced the '10' 'under the corrected rule and broke the suit causing the spell to fail, which would have happened regardless of the rule being corrected or not. The chaos and despair from the players surrounding this event clouded those facts.
Before I invest in the rest of the series so far, does Becky also keep loudly clacking the keyboard while you're describing things in the other videos?
Thanks for the timestamps. We're no Stream of Chaos bud; we only have the free version of Streamyard and we're rough around the edges with regards to audio (I'm a musician so I'm well aware of this). Becky's typing does indeed come off quite loud on occasion (and her mic is only budget at the start which doesn't help), however if you do decide to carry on watching, hopefully her incredibly memorable character of Francoise and the premise of "friends having fun" will make up for it. :)
My friend is doing a new campaign. So I decided to pick my race and class, then roll my stats in order. This is the line up I got. Str 18 Dex 9 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 11 Cha 8 Going to be an interesting character. Know what I mean? Also Maxed out HP. I like each how when you guys are building characters you try your best to make sure no one is stepping on each others toes. Though I feel that everyone is going to come with character ideas already done up for my friends game. I like how I don't have to be looking at the screen to know, each of you sound different. The Elf Puns are deadly. Oh and first comment. I, Fjook of Fjook Enterprises, approves this Campaign.
The entry scenario with having to save the store from a tornado is very unexpected, refreshing, and makes the story seem more realistic. This is the sign of high-level players- the DM does something old school, and the players run with it. Simply awesome.
Hi just following your advice from your live chat on double dm. This is really Interesting. I'm nearly finished watching this one and looking forward to watching the rest of the streams. ☺ Thanks for videos
Drat, due to bad timing I missed it again. :( Something doesn't look right...there seems to be a lack of facial hair...I've figured it out...JAYSON SHAVED! :)
Well now, this session rapidly became a sticky situation, but our heroes rose to the situation, expanding their collection of skills and faced the stiff front presented by the bad guys. Going undercover, they penetrated the defenses of the target and pricked holes in their resolve. In the end, the big bad boss's desire to get to the bottom of things, led to social intercourse, that pulled out all the stops and rammed home the notion, that no amount of jackhammer action would rupture his reservoir tip. Their defenses were blown down, and it all came gushing out in the end. Now our heroes are rising to the occasion, flying high in bombers and more than just their upper lips are stiff.
