How to move a large Lathe. (Part one) #Hilmanrollers#Boomtruck
Переглядів 33012 годин тому
I recently bought a lathe at a Machine shop dispersal auction sale. I built some temporary frames and welded Hilman rollers to them. The move went very smooth, and thankyou to all that helped.

T6 crawler and W6 tractor disking with a Cockshutt 262 disk
Переглядів 29521 день тому
Here we have a 1946 T6 crawler, a 1952 Super W6 tractor and a Cockshutt 262 double off-set disk. I used the crawler first as the field was very rough from the cows walking in the soft ground. Then I made several passes with the Super W6.
International TD15C Stripping Topsoil

Here is the Monster Volkswagen. This is a 1972 beetle sitting on top of a 1975 Jeep CJ5. We had a nice rain and the Monster Volkswagen works great for checking cows when its muddy out. It also works good for checking muddy dirt piles.

That spedometer is cool!
Case 470 will do 35 mph if you brave enough to go full throttle.
Who says that was full throttle lol
That smile! 😆
If you look closely you can see the true terror in my eyes
I've been around and I never saw that before. Way cool.
Thanks for the comment. It actually dialed in really close. And I would have struggled to do the job otherwise.
I’m curious what the displacement is on the W6 tractor ?
Good day, the W6 is actually a 1952 Super W6 which means it has the updated larger 264 cubic inch engine. Where as the older 1946 T6 crawler has the slightly smaller 248 cubic inch engine.
All the components needed to RocknRoll or rather RocknCrush...
There will be no moss on these rolling stones. Thanks for the comment. I do feel like a one man band some times lol
kendra i love it
Thanks for the comment. It's hard not to love...
Might want to fiddle with your video editor settings, video is frame boxed. Also that's a fun little 4 wheeler, looks like it's Perfect For That. More enclosed than a jeep, more capable than a Bug, and cute while doing it. Good for cold mornings you'd rather not get rained on.
Thanks for the comment. It has been a steep learning curve on the editing side for sure. I have been using an old program. Hopefully I can try some new products soon.
the cow was not impressed.
That cow has poor taste, plus she's always complaining. Have you seen the other side of the fence. It is not greener....
the camo looks awesome1
That's a funny story, I had just about finished the Monster Volkswagen and I went away for the weekend. When I got back my brother and his crew had surprise painted for me. It's hard not to love it.
I want one!
Thanks for the comment, it's really fun to drive. Building it was fun in a different way, it turned out good.
That thing is amazing!!
It's pretty cool what tractor tires will do.
Thats cool as hell! Very good simple video!
Thanks for the comment. It's been a lot of fun posting on youtube. I will try to keep it up.
That's a surprisingly big rock!
These videos are awesome. You are a living legend. The spirit and enthusiasm for these old machines as an old man and kid at the same time
Thanks for the comment. The trouble with this job it that the steering assembly is in the way. I had the dealership remove the front frame and steering components from the tractor as they were doing complete engine overhaul. You can see they bolted a small green plate to cover the steering box internals. You would have to bore the hubs a different way if it was still on the tractor.
Need that done to my 4450
Thanks for the comment, we cleaned up the old house and back filled the hole. It looks a lot more like nature now lol.

Cable blade looks easy, but it’s not
Thanks for the comment. To add to the confusion. The cable blade is actually run by a hydraulic cylinder on the roof. The hydraulic system is run by the rear pto, which is live to the transmission. So if your running out of power you best be on the controls getting the blade up otherwise. You have clutch, put the transmission in neutral then engage the clutch, then lift the blade, then disengage the clutch, l then back into gear, then start all over lol. The old fella who built the cab and blade assembly was very clever and by the looks of it had very limited resources. Even with all my irresponsible operating I never broke any of it.
@@PJTVenturesInc. not so irresponsible🙃
Lol
what size of scraper is that?
Thanks for the comment, the scraper is a 10 yard. I converted from cable to hydraulic. It sure humbles big tractors though lol.
"Somebody stole my boulder! If only there was a trail I could follow..."
Some day we might learn a thing or too here. I think the boys even used rollers at Stonehenge lol
Thanks for the comment. The other contractor had a Ditch witch RT120 Quad track and it was not able to do it by him self.
Det där var lite bättre än kabelplogarna vi kör med här i Sverige
Какой ад😂
skinny tracks does ok , i could do that for hrs.
Thanks for the comment. The snow was just warm enough or compactible for the dozer to ride up on it. If conditions had been different it might not have made it up the hill. It doesn't show how steep some of the sections are.
Old faithful
Thanks for the comment. I have spent hundreds of hours doing all kinds of jobs over the years with that dozer. It really has be old faithful.
Nice looking unit 👍
Thanks for the comment. It works really good. It was the perfect job clearing narrow trails with minimal disturbance.
Is the TD15 powered by a DT466?

Nice, thanks for sharing the video.
Thanks for your comment. It's been really fun to go back in time and see all this. I hardly ever used the computer. Now I'm hunting through computer files, flash drives, 8mm vhs tapes with the same hunger as a gold prospector. I got the fever lol.
I still have a few old nuggets from back in the day. But hopefully I can start getting some better quality videos with all this equipment.
Good old days
Thanks for the comment. It sure was. We would plow this driveway every year for the customer to get to there cabin. We looked forward to this job like we were getting to see an old friend. Hopefully by the fall I can get some new footage of the old TD6.
The good old days when most politicians were loyal Americans first.
I love me some old iron still getting it done!
Thanks for the comment. It's hard to tell how steep the driveway is in the video. But there's not a lot of things that would have marched up that hill the way the dozer did.
This in the 1920’s?
Thanks for the reply. This was filmed in 2002. The Dozer is a 1947 TD6 International
I guess your just "winging it, right", oops I mean correct!
We practically duct taped the wing on but it ended up working perfectly.
I think you need some work on your climate-controled cab, your air conditioning is going to get out!
I had the cold air catch flaps open that day.
@@PJTVenturesInc. 😆👍
Really nice work. That bushing is nice and tight. Thanks for sharing.
It needed a bit of persuasion near the end. Luckily Mjölnir was handy.
Nice!
Thanks for the comment, I will admit I do love the struggle of a cold engine coughing and sputtering. It's also my favorite engine of all time. The underpowered but always reliable International DT 466
It’s a DT466 in a dozer. Didn’t know that. Rad.
www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/003/3/2/3320-international-harvester-td-15.html
Why buy new????
Thanks for the comment. There's a ratio that I see when running older equipment. Number of hours getting paid for work, too the number of hours fixing the old equipment. That little red Crawler is still paying.
@@PJTVenturesInc.nice setup.
It's a shame I didn't have more footage. Thanks for the comment.
I built a tiny one for my fork truck sized garden crane and they are a right tart to use. Even with an oversized hydraulic ram it doesn’t penetrate the dirt surface. Luckily it’s still a good ‘grab’ :o)
Thanks for the comment, yes it is hard to use. The digging is motion is easy, it's when you want to dump carefully but have it free fall and slam against the buckets limit stops. This footage was near that po d so it was quite soft.
It might be an old cable dozer, but that isn’t stopping it from doing some hard work :)
Everything came together on that day. The ground being frozen, the temperature of the snow. It's difficult to see how steep the driveway really is, plowing down hill really helped.
Nice old school video!
Thanks for the comment. We never realized how far reaching our home videos would be back then. Now I wish I had filmed it all. I have worked that little dozer for hundreds of hours and it just keeps on going.
We need more MONSTER BEETLE content!!!! C'mon, give the people what they want!!!🧌🪲
Coming soon to a phone screen near you. More MONSTER BEETLE ACTION.
wow, what a fantastic Idea.....cheers from Florida, Paul
Thanks for the comments, it worked out pretty good. The shaft was from a Combine with that large hex, I was scratching my head as to how I would pull it off. I had actually just finished changing the mounting surface of the steady rest as it came from an auction separate from the lathe. The travel of the three steady rollers I'd not long enough to get down to anything smaller then about 4" diameter, so it was the chuck or Build a big cathead fixture.
1960년대 구나
Thanks for the reply. Yes the dragline and clamshell are both from the 1960s. But they operate excellent.
Is that a hydraulic cylinder on top operating cable lift blade, quite unusual.
Yes, the cylinder is on the roof that goes down to the front with a cable. I had gotten it like that years ago and it worked for me for many years So the story goes it cleared two quarter sections in Northern Alberta Canada. As far as I'm concerned it has passed all design tests lol. I love your channel by the way.
I think it was built by a very clever man with few resources. I know it puts a huge amount of pressure on the front pivot leaf springs. I have run it for hundreds of hours and it has never let me down.
@@PJTVenturesInc. I have a very nice TD9 with a Heil cable blade. I see yours has the hydraulic pump on the back. It takes a little getting used to not having live power for the blade.
Oh yes, lots of pre-planning. It also helps that it is quite powerful little beast lol
power to whiplash.
Back in the day I sure thought so...
amazing
yep power
Thanks for the comment, there's no replacement for displacement
When having fun ment something 🤘
I hear ya. We wouldn't see some of the people for a full year and then you would get together for a long weekend and have a blast.
Lock diffs front and back and lift you don't need a 454 you can do it with a clapped out 305. But it's not going to sound as cool cause, testicles and torquue!
Lol.
