"Joy"!
Proudest Sleigh Ride moment... ;)
Wow this brings me back. Played this in grade 10 back when I was on Baritone & Alto (been playing Soprano for the past 10 years). My god that makes me feel old, I'm 39 now so that would've been 22 or 23 years ago!
Starting in 0:16, the sound got poor to he heard via recordings. Said that, I can imagine it were quiet beautiful to be heard in there
My high school band is playing this piece Right Now!
minho and newt from maze unner be chillin in the percussion area
According to the First Coast winds site, the composer is Oscar Navarro
I played this in high school band over a decade ago. Still my favorite. My band director explained the meaning behind each individual part of this song and i still get goosebumps and tears in my eyes each time i hear it.
Played this in high school and the off stage trumpet solo was performed by a great man who served honorably in Iraq and unfortunately took his own life several years ago. I’ve always interpreted that solo as the fallen calling back to us, and on Thursday our local cemetery is dedicating a memorial to veteran suicide with his image as the model. Brings me to tears listening again. Rest easy Chris.
Mesmerizing classic track! The Orchestra is well orchestrated!
Amazing piece! So much fun…. And stressful. Those piccolo licks. Played with the university of ky wind ensemble with Richard clary as band director. I think we played it at CBDNA but not sure. So scary but fun and the most focused an entire group can get! Great playing.
The horns 😩😩😩😩
Kudos, Dr. Clasen-LeBlanc! Beautiful job!
Dr*
@@Landenvargas8812 Thank you for the correction! 😳
Such a great arrangement and a great warm-up!
interesting to see that an english horn was used in some parts!
I’m playing this in the Midwest clinic
6:36 DU DU DUDUDUUUUUU 😔😔
It is an honor to play such a beautiful and meaningful piece. Thank you.
i keep getting confused at measure 45
0:42
Hi First Coast Wind Symphony! I just stumbled across this recording and WOW you did an amazing job!!! Thank you for this!
4:00 gotta be one of my favorite moments from this piece.
Love this pierce, and a great orchestra. Would like to play this piece. Great saxophone section. 🤗🤗🎶🎷
Here. I. Am.
I got to play this with Ticheli conducting a few months back and it was awesome. He's a super chill dude too, was great to work with him.
Fine conducting ❤
This will forever be one of the best pieces I've ever learned how to conduct! Rossano Galante is such a brilliant composer, and it's great to see him conducting his piece!! Fantastic job!! :)
My granddaughter in Charlotte was prompted by UA-cam to listen to us play this as she loves The Merry Go Round of Life.
The timpani solo tho ;-;
Well done! i love Rossano's work!
So beautiful 😭💙
amazing!!!, very well performed💖💖
0:39 I’m thankful for Dr. Paul Weikle, conductor, that chooses challenging music. I’m thankful to my teacher Joseph Haygood who taught me to play all the high notes.
We're all thankful that you didn't crack any of those high notes.....go practice...
Wonderful arrangement, beautiful brass section, perfect.
That Wind Machine!
Just beautifull! I just saw you, Susan. fourth row, first on left. From Conductor.
Who’s the conductor for JU now?
Just a straight W from this man
👏👍💪
216 measures in a 3 minute piece is insane
I prefer it at the slower temo. It's more beautiful that way. I like the beauty mixed with chaos instead of the chaos overshadowing the beauty.
What a gorgeous and moving piece. Rossano Galante is such a brilliant composer and orchestrator. So glad you got to perform his work.
Rossano is conducting!
Played this song few years ago and we're going to be playing it again this year. I fell in love with this piece even before I knew the meaning. One of the few pieces our band director told us the meaning behind and I loved it even more after hearing the meaning. Such a wonderful tribute to all those innocent kids. This will always be one of my favorite pieces we've ever done.
Same here.
True. My band director was friends with Rachel Scott, one of the victims. "I'm Not Ashamed" is a film about her final year.
1:35 our band director described these chord changes as pain and release and now it makes me tear up every time 😢
And we just played it tonight for our concert, and my goodness, this song is amazing 😢
@@PikaFunGuy one of the directors I had for this piece (played it many times) said to think of that melody in the background as "i.... am go-ing home ....." like how do you tell that to a 9th grader 2 years after Columbine happened
The hospital nursery band is playing this tonight. I'm the super-concertmaster (born yesterday btw) and we're so excited to be playing this at double the tempo!
Beautiful rendition. Great sound!
The beginning of this song always gives me the creeps but it's a beautiful piece. I love it!
