Naming Beneficiaries If You Have a Will
Thanks, that was helpful.
Very nice info Jim. Question about the Canadian Pharmacy...do you know if their drug options would be knock-offs or the actual drug, for example Xarelto?. I contacted a Canadian Pharmacy that ships from Canada, but theirs was a knock off made in India and not the actual Xarelto
As someone who thinks supplements are the way to go I find this a little unfair to Medicare Advantage as far as costs are concerned because Medicare Advantage includes the drug or part D plan which can be quite costly depending on your situation. If you have a supplement you will have to purchase a separate part D plan if you want drug coverage.
LG GRAM 🖐😎👍
Thank you Pittman Law and Jim Bodenner for this invaluable information. It seems the American Healthcare System is Designed to Confuse You at Best or Ruin You at it's Designed Worst. Funny how Corporate Democracy works 🤡🙄🤬
Thank you for your comments. This video is for informational purposes only as are all of the videos we put on this channel. Our firm does not provide guidance on Medicare. If there are specific questions or concerns about Medicare feel free to reach out to Jim Bodenner. His information is in the video description.
While I truly appreciate the videos that Pittman Law Office posts, their refusal to invest in a decent microphone and their complete lack of comment follow-up or interaction is disheartening. They're probably afraid if they engage, people will expect legal advice, but simple comments such as, "Thanks for watching," or "Make an appointment if you'd like to discuss this further"could go a long way in people developing a rapport with them.
Great resources for us and our heirs! Promptly shared the information with those who need to know it.
Glad it was helpful!
Sounds like, by and large, a Supplement plan is the (much?) better option over Advantage plans.
Top tier hospitals, like Mayo Clinic, are not going be be a realistic option for many, because there are only a few such facilities in the United States, and treatment at one would entail significant transportation and lodging costs for many, which would not be covered by Medicare or other insurance. There is also the question as to whether or not a patient's medical condition would make long distance travel difficult. Lastly, those treatment centers will not accept everyone who is seeking treatment there, regardless of their insurance situation.
Would love to hear Amy and/or Tim speak about The Villages' process when it comes to lifestyle visit guests and golf carts. They have people coming in from around the country (even the world), many of whom have never even driven a golf cart, they then provide them with a golf cart with no seat belts, and basically tell them "Enjoy!". As I understand it, the only insurance connected to the golf cart protects The Villages, not the driver or passenger. If the guests do not have some type of golf cart coverage via their own personal insurance policies back home, it seems as though they are totally screwed.
We do not know how The Villages handles the golf cart issues with visitors.
Lol, I wanna know more about Bailey's C.V.
Fascinating information. Would like an idea of how Sabal Trust is compensated: Would I pay them a monthly "retainer" for years into the future, or do they take a percentage of assets once they begin to actively act as the Agent?
Loving these videos. Of course, they create more questions for me, haha. I notice Audra wears the airplane pendant in more than one video, must have special meaning. Really do appreciate you guys putting these videos together. I intend to arrange a consultation with you next year. In the meantime, perhaps a video to discuss the different ways of holding house title in FL? Also, can a married couple with two homes split residency? Can I become a FL resident and the Mrs. remain a TN resident to gain the benefits of both states?
This is great information. I appreciated the information regarding new legal ages for driving. Would like to have heard a little more about the differences in car vs cart (less stable, higher center of gravity, etc.) to encourage people to not think they can easily drive a cart just because it is like their car. I can always tell Amy's videos - the pink makes it clear she wants you to know she's a woman. If I might add a little critique from a viewer's perspective: the mic quality is poor and makes you sound like you're in a tunnel. Combine that with the zen-like background music Tim was playing and it makes the information difficult to hear clearly - especially given the age and reduced hearing capacity of your target audience demographic. I especially appreciate the details regarding good solid coverage recommendations. Being involved on the legal end of these incidents gives Tim solid experienced insight on what he views as good insurance and ways to have sufficient coverage. Thank you Amy for bringing him as a guest on this video.
Great video! Thanks for the info!

Great information.

Thanks...never thought about these issues.
In Minnesota we have a transfer on death deed (TODD) that is codified in State Statute. It works great and costs $35 to file. I used on for my brother’s home and it save us time and money when he passed away. I wish Florida would give us the ability to use this type of option.
Ms Platt (hope I got that right). I have checking & savings at SoFi bank which is online only. I just established an RLT. When I went to SoFi to get them to retitle my accounts into my living trust, they say the don’t allow trusts. I can’t even make my trust a beneficiary according to them. Have you encountered this with any of your clients?
What about self prepared documents?
you should be?
Although a younger demographic is relocating to The Villages, and most younger people (generally) don't have pension plans, so many Villagers, younger an older, are former government employees. I thought I read somewhere that per capita more people drawing a pension live in The Villages than anywhere else in the US. People with pensions tend to know other people with pensions, so word of mouth alone should keep plenty of pensioners drawn to the area.
This video isn't about "changes" in The Villages. Nice spin however.
The lawyer is for 5 and the conversation is very interesting.♥♥♥ And the smile is real.
Great content, but strange title for your video.
I agree about the title. It is not right. Things to know about Before Retiring.
I thought it was about changes in the rules or something. My suggestion: The Villages - Changing Financial Demographic.
Thanks! It sounds like a good source to reach out to in order to determine what options to elect with a long term care policy that is being modified & asking you to pick an option!
Great video.
Mary, from the standpoint of portability, does it make any difference how the assets are titled at the first death? Can the surviving spouse get the deceased spouse's unused exclusion (DSUE) even if all of the family assets were titled in the name of the surviving spouse?
Thank you. Will be seeing you in a few weeks. Orange Blossom Opry presentation sold me and I made an appointment that day
@Pittman Law Office Dang it!!! Your in Florida and I'm in California. Can you refer me to someone in California?

Your videos are among the very best available on UA-cam concerning these types of subject matter. I have a question though: Let's say a retired 'big shot' medical doctor creates a revocable living trust in 2002 at the age of 87. He dies in 2012 at the age of 96. The trust states that everything goes to his wife until her death and then all assets should be distributed equally among 5 named beneficiaries. His wife dies in 2016, but less than a year prior to her death 1 of the beneficiaries (her son) who also happens to be the trustee takes his frail mother with dementia to a lawyer's office to create a brand new trust naming himself the sole beneficiary and trustee (with complete authority over the entire estate). In effect removing the other 4 beneficiaries from receiving their rightful inheritance. One would assume that the new/purported trust should be contested in probate court as Undue Influence and Lack Of Capacity. The main concern is . . . WHY DOES THE BAD ACTOR GET TO HOLD ON TO ALL THE ASSETS/MONEY IN THE MEANTIME (AS THE CASE IS WORKING IT'S WAY UP THE PROCESS TO TRIAL) WHILE THE OTHER BENEFICIARIES ARE TERRIFIED THAT HE WILL SPEND THE MONEY, HIDE THE MONEY, FLEE THE COUNTRY WITH THE MONEY, ETC . . . Why is there no way to freeze or secure all the assets/money? It just seems like an incredibly flawed way that the courts/law handle that. I mean obviously the bad actor has bad intentions and has already 'stolen everything'. Why doesn't the law help protect the assets until the courts make their decision on the estate?
Great information. However, you spoke too fast.
