    Very relevant to me. Almost a year, off and on learning the basics of this engine, and why it cranks but won't start. I've replaced the HPOP which I likely didn't need to do. For a good pressure test, one needs to activate the IPR regulator which I hadn't done. So with no activation it was delivering no pressure. Once activated, I got 3000 PSI. Not a HPOP issue. Never any exhaust smoke, an injector buzz test yielding zero noise and came to find that my IDM was getting zero power from the PCM. I am now down to finding whether there is a harness problem like here, either a disconnect to the IDM or some other short that tells the PCM not to activate the IDM, or whether the PCM is blown. Stay tuned.

    I am searching for my own tire changer/balancer for the farm. I am fed up with tire shops that can't balance tires so they don't shake on the highway above 110 km/hr. I can usually static balance them better than the local shops. At 100 bucks for a bad balance that they won't recheck or recalibrate their equipment this looks like a good deal. I am wondering on the balancing side of things how your wheels are performing on the highway. tks

    • @cisforcars
      @cisforcars Місяць тому

      @mistergreen2 I agree to all of your comment, this was to save money, and to have it done right. Everything I've balanced with this has done very well, smooth as anything, all profiles of tires at all speeds. Most Recently I balanced a set of slicks that are smooth as butter to at least 160km/h. Like I mentioned, the manual is painfully written, but once you get the machine down, it works perfectly. Should I ever balance something that doesn't seem right, the self calibration process of the machine is extremely easy. I have no problem recommending either machine. 👍🏼

    The guy i got mine from didn't get the inner shafts engaged into the diff so they just dangled there for quite some time. Instead of spending another $100+ for bearings and axels on a quad with an engine about to blow I was going to just remove enough parts to convert to 2wd only so I'll need to hook it up like your right side was where the center shaft is gone 😆 I would remove the diff but don't want to deal with sealing the front engine shaft seal. It'd likely fall apart if I engaged 4wd anyway lol. The rear seal was nightmare enough to replace

    • @cisforcars
      @cisforcars 2 місяці тому

      @AdventureCap Could it be that the cables need adjusting? Mine took quite a bit of adjustment on the cables before they would lift at the same time. For any air in the lines, fully extending both rams, then bringing them all the way down will remove any air eventually. You'll be able to tell if your reservoir has any bubbles in it, should just be straight clean fluid.

    thanks for the reply. I just balance a few wheels a year. Every now and then I get a OPT on the screen and I don't know what to do. Do you think it wants me to optimise the wheel? Have you ever seen that code?

    • @cisforcars
      @cisforcars 3 місяці тому

      Ah, yes. I believe that's what it says when the balance required is more than so many ounces (Although I'd have to consult the manual again to be sure.) When it says this on the screen, I ensure that the wheel is tight to the balancer, or even loosen and reposition the wheel on the balancer and do another spin, and often enough the OPT goes away. Maybe try that next time!

    • @davidworth7621
      @davidworth7621 3 місяці тому

      @@cisforcars hello and thanx for the reply. So many odd questions. My manual is awful. So many spelling errors and hard to understand. You have a better manual than me. My manual doesn't mention anything about that OPT at all. Also on my manual there is only two sentances about balancing using ALU. And so I am having issues with that also. Have you balanced with ALU? Do you understand the procedure? Can you copy your manual and email it to me?

    If you dont pull it out exactly straight after using that method the alignment of the clutch gets moved. Double the work also.

    • @cisforcars
      @cisforcars 3 місяці тому

      That's fair! Once I have the pilot tool, or even better an old input shaft, sliding in and out well I'll torque down the flex plate. So once it's torqued I've found its helpful to try the transmission, still before the bellhousing is on. Clutch alignment shouldn't change once flexplate is torqued, though, as you mentioned it's always good practice to pull out as straight as possible.

    • @NickRanger
      @NickRanger 3 місяці тому

      It's actually super easy to mis align a clutch from being centered. That's the number one reason people fail at this. The tool does the work, and they think cause it's aligned that the jobs gonna be cake. People who lift them and wiggle and shift them around usually are the ones who just bolt them super tight and have no idea what centered feels like, let alone looks like. I'm glad for the videos that teach.

  • @whatonearth11
    @whatonearth11 3 місяці тому

    Truly a time saver, I'm from Africa and at our shop we don't have lifts so we have to work on everything lying down and when working on cars with heavy gearboxes we use a top shaft that we have to align it correctly so it's just lift and push💯💯
