It’s missed a few important things about the particular styles match-up in this series but many of your points are good as is your passion. So thank you and I appreciate it. Dude made a 25 minute video comparing the oilers to the leafs (Wild take) and than watched his team blow a 3-0 lead. Rough one hahaha

It’s a medical issue. The Panthers are gutless and heartless. Any team with any Tkachuk on it is automatically disadvantaged in that way. They were not equipped to handle adversity. 8-1 loss is not the score of a champion.

whats your take on why the panthers almost collapsed in the third? got too comfortable? oilers' death throws? kinda has me worried going into game 4 that the oilers figured something out

My feeling is The Panthers win it in 5, I know the oilers are winning at home, game 3 the oilers will probably win.

From an oilers fan perspecting Its nice hearing an educated fan in the south. The only thing I haven't liked is you keep saying oilers fans underestimate the panthers and think this was going to be over in 5. I can confidently say that 90% of oilers fans thought this was 6 or 7 and 55/45 panthers. Also bringing up the past is very irrelevant in this series because the oilers play completely different than they did against all of those teams. The avs series isn't even worth bringing up because that was a team of destiny with an all time roster. Makar and mac were making 8 mill combined and their third line had burrokovsky and kadri....that team was as deep as any team in the history of the NHL for one year. How have I seen the fist 2 games? Its really close defensively and the numbers back that up, but offensively our third line has been completely ineffective in releaving any pressure off our top 2 lines. When our depth goes quiet, and our third line has at times this playoffs (Mcleod, Foegs, Kane, Perry,etc) and arent at least sawing off the other team, the ability for teams to shut down our top 2 lines 5x5 becomes that much easier. It felt like bob stole game 1 and the oilers dominated 80% of it and game 2 you guys deserved that win 99/100 times. You guys brought your A game and the oilers brought their C. BIggest difference? You guys found a way to win a game with your C to C+ game. I wouldn't say the oilers arent used to this pressure, and I appreciate the fan perspective thinking we haven't, but that to me isn't the issue in the first two losses. The bouchard comments are a little mid too, he made a bad play because he was pushing over 30 minutes when he is peak at 22-26. Once nurse went down and foegle got kicked, the team had a really hard time adjusting against a team like this. That being said, it was tied going into the third and you guys found a way to win while the oilers kept finding ways to lose. It was still a game up in the air after 40. If they play like game 1, even with Florida adjustments, its going to be hard for either team to find a way to the win column tomorrow. Either way this should finish up as a fun series whichever way it goes. Next win is must win for the oilers or this is over, cant go down 3-0 against a team like this.

As an Oiler fan, I respectfully disagree with your read of the Oilers. Much of what you say is based on last years Oilers. They had a 16 game winning streak with a GAA of 2 this year. Draisaitl,and McDavid are much more committed to defence this year. The Oilers are fast and the defence moves the puck quickly. Two best teams in the league are in the final, and both of them face their toughest competition of the year. It is very hard to pick a winner, with the series going 4-7 games. We may find one team is just superior in the match up and win easily or find they are evenly matched. A really hard series to call This is why they play the games.

The Oilers team and fans know what is coming... They're just creating a narrative to get in your head. Don't let them. Go Panthers!

Did you not see how Silovs played he didn’t play like a backup he played like a starter it wasn’t easy for Edmonton. Plus all of you said Dallas would be tough and have this big depth and Edmonton shut down their PP they didn’t get a single PP goal and made Oettinger look like a AHL goalie. No disrespect but both teams are good probably going 7 and Edmonton will win because McDavid and Draisaitl are on a mission.

That’s okay though it does seem like ur just a big fan excited about the panthers chances. Something you should consider is that the panthers haven’t played against 2 forwards as dynamic as McDavid and Draisaitl. Oilers have the most 5 v 5 goals in the playoffs + the best powerplay and pk. Skinner has also given up 2 or less goals in 7/8 games and the defense is great at grade a shot suppression. Should be a great physical series. Oilers in 6.

Kudos, your analysis is spot on. I totally agree with your assesment of the Oilers opponents so far. I would say that this will be a very competitive series. Thanfully, the Panthers are entertaining becuase this years SCP has been a bit dull.

"Nobody watches the oilers, western hockey"... The Oilers were one of the 2 highest revenue teams of 2023, Panthers were 27 out of 32 teams even with a run to the finals. LA Kings were higher revenue than any other American team. Even the Seattle Kracken made more money. If nobody is watching out west, then who is buying all the merchandise?
