Great advice. Thank you for sharing
Welcome. Appreciate the comment.
I think 18 and 19 fare better but clumsy, make rushed decision. Age 10-17 keep them close don't leave them at mall alone. 20 is perfect age for Solo Navigator 📱
Not really sure I understand your comment, but thanks.
Like Alain says, don't think they're too young to start. I would go on hikes with my son when he was 5 years old and started pointing out how to pay attention to where he was going. Taught him how to backtrack a trail we'd walked. After a few hikes, We went in 1.5 miles and I had him take us back to the truck. Every time we hit a fork and he'd pick a direction I'd ask him why. And every time he gave a correct answer by pointing out something we'd walked past. At 12 he could read and remember terrain. I taught him how to use a map as a reference when he didn't have a compass. Needles to say, he could easily make his way around any urban setting when he was young. And yes I taught him how to navigate urban areas too. When he was in his S.E.A.R. training in the Air Force and they dropped them on their first run, which is before giving them map and compass training, he was the only one that could read the map, orient it to the terrain, identify where they were, and point them in the right direction. The other trainees asked him how he knew , and Ill be darned if he didn't tell them, "My Dad taught me how to do this when I was little. I've been able to do this for several years". I was so proud of him when he told me that story.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
@@DavidShipman-cg5gu Your assumption is totally wrong that I left my son alone or endorse leaving kids alone. Read what was written!!!! There is NO statement of leaving him alone.
I also grew up watching a lot of Burt Reynolds movies. It's just so sad he's passed on already. He didn't look the same when he passed on. I saw one of his last movies. I forgot the name of it. But it's when one of his dogs died and he got another dog at the end of it that movie.. you can tell in that movie he just wasn't the same anymore. I think one of his last best movies that he made was when he made that movie boogie nights. He really did a good job in that one his acting was unwavered..
Yes, losing so many grew up watching...
I'm an avid reader. Problem s I buy so many books. I get started on them. And I can't ever finish them because I'm start reading another one LOL
I'm always reading 6-10 books at a time...

Don't forget building 7....
Thank you!

You have a point. Thanks.
My wife says I have my Head up my Apps all the time.
LOL
its pretty hard to defend against when u have had hip replacement n on a walker..i think even if i know its coming i wouldnt be able to move fast enough...ur right theirs sick ppl out there..but still good solid advice
Very good
Thank you!
its disgusting though i can never do that
I don't know, Alain, I had my nose broken three times, and I didn't notice the third time hurting less than the first 🤔...GREAT post, though!
Thank you! Yes, I get it, and still painful. But some people keep fighting with broken noses and don't think as bad. Like most things, just depends. Appreciate the comment. Stay safe!
@@surviveanddefend1088 Oh, I kept fighting, not very well, though...
@@MrWayne1701 Thanks for sharing. Stay safe!
I’ll show you the glory of the booth boxing style JOJO!!
Thank you.
The problem when you do that is that your opponent can do the same…from my experience in a fight bar against a foreign legion soldier….
True. And that would be true with just about everything.
And what about the law afterwards
You would only do this if justified to defend yourself with it.
Nice! Thank you.
Welcome. Appreciate the comment. Stay safe!
Woman here: What is actually gross is the fear of being assaulted, mugger, raped, kidnapped, etc.... So this move is going to be my go to defense when and if I am in danger, and Thank you so much for posting it !
You are welcome. I hope you never have to use it. Stay safe.
@@surviveanddefend1088 I have actually used much worse in one occasion and it saved my life. 3 "men" assaulted me...
I once did this to a kid when I was about 5, I pushed so hard his eye bled
Hope it was justified. It’s effective when needed. Stay safe!
Very effective for women if they have long nails as well. If a man this is last resort because you can get a lot of years in prison for this if you were to gouge out their eye or blind them which could happen.
You wouldn’t go to prison if you were justified in using this level of force, and that’s why it is important to understand the law. But yes, if not justified for this level, you could find yourself in prison. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks. Answered with my other account.
I have a problem physically. I have spinal stenosis and I need a hip replacement. Pretty soon.. so it's hard to stay stable. But what I wanted to know is what's your take on a non-lethal byrna. I just purchased one. It's a byrna EP kinetic rounds. Maybe you can make a video on it if you ever check those out.?? Here in California, it's hard to get up permit to carry any firearms. So i purchased one of these, these, you don't have to have a permit unless you get the ones with the pepper spray balls that explode .... you'd have to get a guard card to be able to get those n carry those which I don't have the time to do that... 'cause you would have to take classes and in my condition. It's hard just to train cant stand up straight have trouble walking.. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated..
PM to you about it. Thanks!
a little bit phantasmagoria
Thanks
Nope
@@amanita1964 What do you mean nope, how can you train this
@@jujiwastaken Nope again
Si vis pacem parabellum.
Thanks!
Very true as in today world you must be aware of where you are and who is around so you are prepared for what may be coming your way.
Thank you! Yes, just want people prepared, not paranoid, so we can enjoy more safely.,
Basic gross motor skills I believe are the key. As an older guy I love simple WW2 Combatives
They have been around for a long time for a reason. They work. Thanks for the comment.
Interestingly, very similar to Parker kenpo rules for dealing with a weapon..divert, seize and control, disarm..and finally, hit the opponent with his weapon.
Thanks!
I taught my wife this years ago. She still can't handle the thought of it but I hope that God forbid she is in that type of situation that she remembers.
Hope she never needs it, but much better to know it and not need it than to need it and not know it. Stay safe!
Thank you. I try to teach my nieces and ladies around me. As a woman I also find it hard to overcome our "natural" rejection of using physical violence, but we cannot afford this anymore. I personally groom my nails and reinforce myself mentally, which is the prime asset in a situation. Please teach your wife and loved ones to overcome their mental "inferiority complex".
which ever presents itself
yep!
Mine is: You don't win by being a better martial artist, you win by the other guy making a mistake. Look for those mistakes.
Thanks!
Unlike a punch of slap comes up from the bottom hard to defend if it’s quick
Yep. Thanks!
How many ounces are the gloves??
I do not remember. Sorry.
Well said alan 👏
Thank you!
Well said, Alain. I'm amazed at the number of people who don't even carry a flashlight at night.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Welcome. Appreciate the comment.
hi
Hi Alan. How would you throw an overhand right with an open hand?
I've had his book for years and I never knew there was any video footage of him until last week. Now I know why Richard Marcinko hired him to train SEAL Team 2. He was just a lethal person.
I have the books, but have not seen video. Thanks.
@@surviveanddefend1088 Look up Michael D. Echanis (American Warrior). There's an hour an half footage of him teaching on a military base. The channel is called Warriors of the Night.
👍
👊
You need to provide context for when this would be a good idea. Most of the time, it isn't.
Thanks!
The movie was called badboys...
I am old and not in good health I carry 4 knife's brass knuckles
Grab the nuts and don't let go
Eye gouging and testicles grabbing
It offends me to have to wait through 4 minutes of useless, meaningless and dishonest commercials to watch the video. Outrageous.
I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean commercials that UA-cam puts up, I have absolutely nothing to do with those, and you should be able to skip anything after 5 seconds.
nice but how to escape when somebody grab you upper arm with both hands?
Depends on how they grab. Thumbs are still weakest link of a grab. Might stomp the guys foot or kick the knee to get him thinking of that while you get free, might strike the throat, ear or eyes with other hand to create opportunity to escape. Sometimes it just depends...
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Do unto others... I wonder where I heard that before. Or as Marc says, "Don't be an A-hole." Engage brain before putting mouth in gear.
Yep... Years ago I wrote an article about how the Golden Rule can be found in many teachings... Thanks for the comment. Be Nice - Stay Safe!
I admit, sometimes I'm in a hurry. And I'm always wanting to push my way through crowds and stuff. I need to be more patient.
Thanks for commenting. I think all of us need to be more patient at times. I know I do... Be Nice - Stay safe!
