I've been living here in Hampton since 2022 and i love it. I don't know what he was talking about saying its disappointing. I grew up in Los Angeles and lived in Alabama for 10 years and I'd choose Hampton over both of those. Its faster and has more than Alabama and its not quite as busy and crazy as LA which is why I love it so much. Its the perfect in between. I plan on staying here for the foreseeable future.

I was born in 1994 and I was raised in Hampton for 18 years, though I sometimes lived in Newport News. I moved out in 2013 shortly after graduating from Bethel High School. I currently live in Greensboro, North Carolina. I never realized how much I loved growing up in Virginia until after I moved out. There are just so many things about Virginia that I miss so much that make me want to move back, even though some of those things are long gone. The memories of growing up in Virginia. I wouldn't change for anything. Whether I move back or not, Virginia will always be my home.

I've noticed a trend with you people. You scam people into moving here without letting them know the crime or the traffic. I rather get robbed than deal with the traffic.

Then he sold it to someone who weren't good neighbors in this nicely diverse neighborhood. They left shortly thereafter and the house has changed hands several times. I live in Newporr News. I agree with most of your video, but unless someone is from a warm climate, I wouldn't say our winters are bone-chilling. It was very cold in the 60's and 70s. We hardly have snow where we used to. I haven't needed to wear gloves or scarves much the past few winters.

I agree with just about everything you said! However, the biggest "Con" is the ever increasing crime rates. -Hampton resident for 36 years now (soon to be FORMER Hampton resident)

Hampton is a great city and has potential to be better, but, the majority of the people are just underwhelming and very ghettofied( another word for trashy!) and lack advanced education. Crime and that ghetto mentality are rampant. In simple it is a dump full of gross people except for a select few. Would never live there or Newport News which is about the same. Hopefully goodbye forever to a place that has only gotten worse since I first lived there.

I have old home movies from the 40's and 50's of Hampton and Wythe.

My neighborhood does have an HOA, but no one bothers us. As long as you take care of your home you have no issues. We have a pool and clubhouse, and the neighborhood is highly walkable. Great location, one mile down the street from the premium outlets, less than a mile from 199. The Villages at Westminster.

Excellent honest wonderful perfect description of Hampton. I have been there several times because I have a girlfriend of 45 years who is now widowed who lives there so I’ve been there. Every single word you said is true. The only criticism I have is one that you kind of included, and that is the lack of bi neighborhoods. She did find one to show me. Only one neighborhood that she could think of and she’s been there for decades. I want to live in a village atmosphere where I know food mongers, and store owners. However, Hampton is wonderful, beautiful diverse welcoming educated it’s wonderful. Thank you I sent this on to her.

Lived in Hampton from age 2 to age 16. Left in 2004 and been back a few times. Always will have love for the city that raised me. Your summary is accurate. However, I do think crime is a factor that all should look at before moving there.
