Barr Notes info:
Among the most sought-after U.S. paper money of the late 1960s are the short-lived "Barr" Notes. The bills feature the signature of then Secretary of the Treasury, Joseph W. Barr. Barr had a relatively short term of office, the shortest of anyone that has held the position (December 21, 1968 - January 20,1969), leading to hoarding of these $1 Secretary Barr Notes. These notes are Series 1963B.

The 1873s trade dollar coin that I have is different from the usual trade dollars, it is bluish copper in color, not silver. Could it be fake?😂
Oxidation can change the color of silver but that is not an idication of it being a fake or genuine coin. You should have an experienced coin dealer look at it to verify it is a genuine trade dollar since many fakes were created
@GDSavingThePast Thank you for the explanation.
Your mold isnt hot enough. The propane torch should be aimed at the MIDDLE of the mold recess that you are going to pour the silver into. Also, it might make more sense to reorient your crucible so that the heated metal gets poured out of the spout. I can't see how you are currently trying to pour the molten silver into the mold can work. Heat both the crucible AND the mold with the oxy torch before trying to pouir. The mold should be as hot as the crucible so that the silver can flow rapidly without cooling.
Thanks for stopping by to watch and sharing your thoughts, I do appreciate it. GD
And I have 2 cents and the same 3 cent coin
Thanks for stopping by to watch and sharing what coins you have, I do appreciate it. GD
I have 1865 7 cent coin
Thanks for watching. Happy New Year GD
Yes I heard of this coin being used for postage purposes.. I wonder 🤔 if this was also used for other transactions as well, like buying a loaf of bread 🍞 or something else like that?
Thank you for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. The three cent nickel was a standard US coin that could be used to make any purchase as well as the three cent stamp in use at the time. Happy New Year GD
you calibrated the device with a giant bar of silver a few centimeters from the sensor? is that okay?
Thank you for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. I am not sure if that makes a difference or not. More experimenting may be needed. Happy New Year GD
Happy new year. Yes, you should not calibrate with any metal on the bar
@@stephenwatsons Thank you for clarifying that. Happy New Year
Class Action. Ebay is violating state laws. PS: Federal HR 2284 didn't pass.
I watched your video from beginning to end and since you're different pieces of copperhead different density and your different materials have different numbers even though there was they were the same metal I'm not sure how conclusive any of it was
Thank you for stopping by to watch and share your thoughts, I do appreciate it. You make a very good point. This was just a test to see if it was useful or not, as of now I am still experimenting with it. Happy New Year GD
Okay I read through all your comments and in the one the gentleman mentioned what you were doing was actually density testing. So am I assuming that you don't have to buy the pro which test density not just conductivity
Others have said that the pro would do better with testing but I am not sure how that unit would do something other than what this test did. Maybe someone that has a pro unit could answer that question. Happy New Year GD
If you want to be serious about testing your metals use the Pro or Investor models. They test through the sample. The verifier only does a surface test which can be inconclusive.
Thanks for stoppoing by and sharing your thoughts, I do appreciat it. Happy New Year GD
isnt that the point of the wands?
The verifier model that you are using is the base model that only tests the surface. You also need to do a density test to determine if the metal is genuine. The Pro and Investor versions will do the density tests. Please understand your equipment.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts on the subject.

@@GDSavingThePast An impressive amount of time will likely pass before I can get around to it too. :)
Wow, the four leading zeros is cool. 6 of a kind, wow! Great finds my friend.
Thanks buddy, I appreciate you stopping by to watch. Learned something new about scraping in my area yesterday, there is no one around here that pays for scrap metal so my son and I decided not to scrap the microwave. The scrap metal yard we went to said they would take it for free but not pay shred for it or buy the copper.
@ wow, really? They give any reason why?
@@scrapitall200 No reason given' just that I could leave it but he wouldn't buy it as shred or broken down but it doesn't surprise me for this area. He did offer a suggestion of where I could take it but that was about a 30 to 40 minute drive from me and he said they would only pay a few cents a pound. There are a few places in my area that do scrap but they actually charge you to take things like microwaves and other appliances and motors etc.. Our town also has the standard type town run recycling and we have to pay for that every month.
@ oh wow! Guess that settles that, no scrapping for you. Thanks for letting me know, I’m always curious how things are in other towns/cities
@@scrapitall200 That won't stop me from watching your videos my friend and doing more research on where there are buyers in this state. Years ago there use to be a few large container size machines around here that you could put aluminum cans in and it would shred and weigh them and then pay you but those disapeared a long time ago which might be worth finding out why they are no longer here and if it is worth putting new ones in.
Treasure hunting dollar bills for fancy serial numbers, star notes or errors that are worth more than face value can be very rewarding and a great family hobby with little to no cost. Happy Hunting GD

Thank you for stopping by to watch, I do appreciate it. You might try to sell it at a coin shop or sell it on eBay.
What they're doing is mixing them together new bills with the old bills that you can't even put in a self-checkout so irritating
Thanks for stopping by to watch. I haven't been finding too many clean ones this year, most have shown so much wear that I wonder why they are still in circulation

Cool old bar unfortunately I dont have any info on them, your right it is almost impossible to get information on these old poured bars,at least most of them ,reminds me of my recent bar with that RMIC logo stamped on it,even though it says Certified Mint ,it said RMIC stands for Rare Metals Investment Corporation but who knows couldn't find any info about them 🤷♂️

Awesome finding 5 star notes. I’m curious, what’s an example of a holy grail serial number?
Thanks buddy for stopping by to watch, There are a few that would be holy grails if found in circulation such as a solid number ( all the same number ) or a single digit number of all 0's with a single number at the end or a super repeater true binary note of 01010101. There are other numbers that would be a nice find in circulation but those 3 would be ultimate finds.

The vintage odd weight bars are awesome but your right- very little info on them. Having counter stamped bars adds to the confusion. CCM is a good example of that, they have many counterstamps and even custom initials for customers. Nice bar, wish I could help with info.
Thank you SS for stopping by to watch, you know I appreciate it my friend. Something about those bars that are hard to find info on and have odd weights that seem to pull me in even when they have premiums that seem way too high for an unkown.
